Thanks for taking the time to post the correction - this is extremely helpful ! I am about to take apart my Merc 500 lower unit to replace the water pump - I've never done it before, and could have easily made the same mistake !
Hi @jestes7, I have just added annotations to my video to further clarify the correct assembly order for you. The video on it's own should of explained enough so I might suggest to you if you are unsure you really need to consider if this is beyond your expertise. You can do a lot of damage to your engine if this procedure is not performed correctly. Also, just to clear things up these gaskets are not made of rubber.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS! I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF RE INSTALLING MY WATER PUMP THE WRONG WAY FROM WATCHING THE OTHER VIDEO. YOU SAVED THE DAY!
