  • inshallah we will rise again

  • Masha'Allah, this video is an inspiring testament of Islam, and why we should always make Intellectualism synonym with our religion, it is our obligation! Thank you iTruth, you've just gained one more subscriber.

  • Well muslimramirez, what I learned was that among Muslims the religious ones were fighting to take over control. Ferdinand and Isabel was able to take advantage of that situation and hence Spanish Inquisition.

  • No. Actually people got away from Islamic teachings and they started to use the name of religion for their "own" sick agendas in business, politics and other aspects of life.

  • @mingalabaa: That is something of a wrong interpretation of why the Muslim presence in al-Andalus (Spain and Portugal faded away). There are three main factors:

    1) Infighting between the Muslim states in al-Andalus (the tawaif)

    2) A lack of manpower, which led to a severe military deficit

    3) A lack of siege machineries that led to such a situation that the Berber Almoravids (who succesfully reclaimed some parts of al-Andalus) were unable to reconquer larger cities such as Toledo.

  • Great video. Read "THE EASTERN ORIGINS OF WESTERN CIVILIZATION", it will blow you away!

  • who's the author?

  • Fantastic, Islam has fraganance, ethernity and only way to succeed after life

  • now Baghdad are ravaged by american barbarie

  • "iTruth" AS always you say the crucial Truth ;O)

  • geess... i really hope "those ppl" who talked blindly would see this vid, it's good~! ^^

  • thank you for the truth.

  • Do you know what is the first and oldest university in the world? and who created it? check it out urself

  • University in Cairo, Egypt.

  • If Europe was in the Dark Ages when Islam brought civilization to us heathens, where is the Middle East now? Are they in their own Dark Ages?

  • Yes, to some extent they are in dark ages as far as their Dictator governments are concerned, which are supported by your 'civilized' west. Of course many people have influence of bad infrastructures there. You wont have any freedom of speech in Egypt when America and Israel supported Husni Mubarak is there to pull your tongue out of your mouth if you try to speak against injustice.

  • Same applies to the America-supported Kingdoms in Arab countries.

In summary, when Muslims saw Europe in dark age then they gave them light of renaissance. On the other hand, America and Europe played special role in pushing Muslims to dark age. Would you agree?

A country called USA which is #1 in crimes per capita in the world is telling other countries they are Axes of Evil. LOL.

  • you can say that, but there more like being stop, and controlled that's the plan at lees, world government.

  • This video brings up many good points, and the Moorish invasion of Spain did much to wake up Europe out of it's stupor, in several ways, but declines to recognize that many of the advances of civilization have been spurned in large swaths of the Islamic world today.

  • muslims went downhill because they started following so called religious scholars. Just like popes in christianity, muslims started following their imams, mullahs, scholars etc. and they still do as we speak. I have done enough reasearch in the subject to back what i am saying. (i am muslim myself by the way).

  • It has become fashion now a days to bash all religious Muslims by calling them "Mullahs" when in fact they are waking up. See this:

    youtube. com/watch?v=YpxNBFP2WbQ

    (remove space from the link)

  • Whats "in fashion" about my statement? A logical reply would be nice.

  • either its a muslim or not a muslim. what is a "religious muslim" ?

  • you are right from one point of view that its either muslim or not a muslim. But on the other hand there are 1.5 billion people who call themselves muslim but many of them dont have any sign of Islam, still we cant simple trash them by saying they are nonMuslims. Religious Muslim might mean a person who has comparatively more dedication or motivation about Islam.

  • "many of them dont have any sign of Islam"... One sign of Islam is that everyone is reponsible for their own faith and their own personal relation with God. This person in your pasted link says that if you are educated, you are secular. Tell me, what is secularism? and what is the definition of "islamic scholar"? I read quran everyday with translation that i understand; why do i need scholar?

  • Sorry you are misunderstanding this scholar. He is talking about why there is a gap between two types of Muslims. The Muslims who went on to study engineering, medical and other branches of science, how did they went distant from Islamic teachings. On the other hand, the Muslims scholars who used to do research about Islam and teach Islam to others, why were they left behind in the knowledge of this world.

  • only this one thing in quran completely nulifies any role of any person who wants to teach you islam. What is Quran - 29th chapter says clearly that its a book of advice whoever wants a way to God. If there is someone who is not taking the advice is due to answer God and God only. Im an engineer and i don't see any reason why i shouldn't find my own way. Now, why do we need scholars?

  • I think you have some serious issues with understanding of Islam. Please go see a doctor. Who the hell is giving you twisted interpretations?

    >>quran completely nulifies any role of any person who wants to teach you islam.

What about the Prophet? wasn't he a person to learn Islam from?

What about the company of good men? do they teach evil? what do we get from company of good men? we learn goodness, and goodness is exactly Islam.

  • The knowledge of this world is very important, as Allah SWT asks the humans why dont they explore his creation.

Why do we need scholars? Because they sole profession is to study and teach Islam while we do many other things too. It was those scholars due to whom we understand Quran with the help of Tafsir/Hadiths

  • "Why do we need scholars? Because they sole profession is to study and teach Islam while we do many other things too"... i disagree. Quran tells us in clear words that most people on day of judgement will be pointing fingers to others while saying that i thought he was right and i only followed him in good faith but they will be in hell because we gave all of you ability to think and focus...

  • another question.. aren't those scholars who have divided people in scts and are still doing so? And also, no one has a right to group and stereotype muslims or any other people for that matter. "He is talking about why there is a gap between two types of Muslims"... i'll wait for your replies now.

  • Muslim nation is not a zoo that every person start making sects, YET you are telling me that not only there should be sects of scholars but every person should be a selfmade mufti , telling others that he does not need to learn or correct any interpretation about Quran.

Are you submitter? I smell something fishy about you.

  • yes i agree

  • great video

  • It's an interesting debate. Is it a debate worth losing your personal integrity over though? No? Then grow up the lot of you and respect others' opinions. Disagreements are natural but don't let them descend into petty insults. Enjoy them; learn from them; enjoy learning from them. Ok?

  • I hear you on that man. :)

  • ok, well, if that is the case...

why did the renaissance leave islam completely and utterly in the dust of history?

you're living 800 years in the past, we've already surpassed any achievements you may have inspired by several orders of magnitude.

    next...

  • >>you're living 800 years in the past, we've

    >>already surpassed any achievements you may

    >>have inspired by several orders of magnitude.

    >>next...

Do you have any idea what was "dark age" in Europe? why was it called dark age? where did you 'surpassing' people borrow the light from?

  • You forget that Muslims went to decline by their POLITICAL mistakes, not by their mistakes in the light of education and enlightenment they were spreading. Muslim scientists were still like the stars on the sky when Gangis khan's army was about to smash Baghdad.

  • wow...

  • thanx u for the video

  • It is AWESOME may ALLAH BLESS you.

  • Gah BULLSHIT!! The Renaissance started from Byzantine scholars and artists FLEEING west towards Italy in the advance of the muslims as they CONQUERED Byzantine territory!!

  • Do you know universities of Toledo, Garanada and Toledo? where the heck they come from? If you dont know then its not a surprise, cuz you are an American.

  • I have to say that it is simply not the case that Algebra, Trigonometry, Engineering, and Astronomy trace their 'roots' to Islamic science. To say so borders on revisionist propaganda. Islamic civilization played a significant contributive and transmitive role in the development of math and science but the roots of algebra, trig., engineering, and astronomy predate Islam by at least 1000 years. Any # of history of science textbooks will show this to be true.

  • How much history of Muslims you know??? Your science books authors were so bigoted that they changed that name of those Muslim scientists so that nobody can even know they were Muslims. Check first few links I posted in video's description part.

  • Please we must have peace. Islam is a religion of peace and love for your fellow man.

  • Very interesting documentary! It does credit to Islam's many scholars. I feel the documentary is somewhat unbalanced when explaining the debut Muslim soceity at that time owed to Greece and India. It's mentioned, but only in passing. That said, thanks for posting!

  • This documentary is produced by "Ben Kingsley" who is a nonMuslim himself.

  • Ben Kingsley is an Indian muslim who has changed his name.

  • Ok, its not produced by Ben Kingsley, he is just narrator becuase he is is an actor so they hired his voice services. So, this movie was still produced by non Muslims. Here is detail:

    Directed by Robert A. Gardner

    Written by Jonathan Grupper

    Starring Ben Kingsley (narrator)

    Music by Leonard Lionnet

    Cinematography Regis Becker

    Editing by David Grossbach

    Christopher Schultz
