I never understood how people could think that would be romantic honestly... Seriously, if Edward wasn't apparently so pleasing to look at Bella, and most of the readers of the book, wouldn't have put up with that kind of shit. Just goes to show you, that in the minds of shallow teenagers/adults if your would be stalker/abuser is good looking it excuses their creepy behavior.
