@DaddyDYJH It was a good while ago, but from what I can recall my mids are fairly high, bass a bit past 12 o'clock and treble a bit lower than 12. Presence not too high, 9 o'clock maybe, and gain coming somewhat from the amp and somewhat from an ibanez TS-9 Analogman mod tube screamer. Hope that helps!
Thanks for showing me the octave part. This whole intro can be somewhat messy with one guitarist but I think from watching this video I know exactly how I am going to play it. Thanks again!
Are you familiar with power chords? If you play power chords starting on the 5th string (A) instead of 6th string (E) then D, F, and G power chords would look like this:
--------
-----------
--7--10--12-
--7--10--12
--5--8---10-
-----------
D F G
Well, the octaves are playing those chords, but with only the top and bottom notes fretted, no middle not on the D string (which is actually the 5th of the chord.) Playing this way gives you only one tone, but at two different octaves. Better?
look, its easy. You put your first finger on the 5 fret A string, but with you first finger you mute the D string. and your 3rd finger goes on the 7 fret G string and you slide!
nice explanation, thanks a lot

In my Part 3 of this video I go over that, I've just been too busy (and lazy) to post that.
As far as gear goes, I'm using a Gibson LP standard with the bridge pickup, tone knob around 7 or 8.
My pedals are just one ibanez tube screamer for a little extra drive and a morley bad horsie wah pedal.
My amp is a Marshall DSL50 head with basically the presence turned down a bit and the mids pushed up to 7 or 8, bass and treble both around 5.
scottyboy1928 3 years ago
Volume is pretty low here, around 2, gain is probably set at around 6 or 7.
Hope that helps! My cabinet (as you may be able to see) is an Orange 2x12 w/ Celestion Vintage 30s. Love that cab!

what tuning is it so i can go on with the lesson?
WorldzGreatezt0294 3 years ago
Standard tuning with the low E string (6th string) tuned down a whole step to D.
Your tuning high to low is:
E
B
G
D
A
D
Hope that helps!
scottyboy1928 3 years ago
