As funny as this joke is, this doesn't contradict the origin of Sonic's speed of him being fast just because he keeps on running (the originial Japanese explanation).

I see a loop here: Sonic gets faster to get away from Amy, Amy gets faster to chase Sonic, Sonic gets even faster to get away from Amy, and so on.

She's a nice sparring partner for him. ;)

The question is: why did Sonic run away from Amy? Was it due her tight grip? Or was he actually a love-shy guy despite his outgoingness?
