Guys UT Didn't fail last year because of Gilbert, it failed because the O line Didn't care and defense couldn't tackle. The O line Made Gilbert an AIM (Automatic Interception Machine) they were just too inexperienced. On top of that when ever a star player leaves the school always has a rebuilding year.
Main reason for last year: Mack Brown and his fucking loyalty to gilbert. If he could detach himself from emotions, he would be able to see that gilbert was not going to succeed and would have brought out mccoy or someone.

If the Big XII dies, OU, A&M, and Texas will find a place with ease.
