And it's from the week w/ Ilene Graf and Howard Morton.

  • I liked watching Henry Polic II on "The $100,000 Pyramid"

  • I think Henry Polic II was very good as a celebrity on "The $100,000 Pyramid."

  • I heard it premired on Aug. 18th, 1986 and ended on Dec. 19, 1986.

  • sure did.

Double Talk was also Bob Stewart's last network GS he produced.

The (new) $25K Pyramid, which was still around by this time lasted until very late 1987 and returned on April 1988 til it was cancelled for good on July 1988.

All other Bob Stewart shows that came by 1986 and later were either on cable (Jackpot! and The (New/$40,000 Chain Reaction) or in syndication (Jackpot! '89 w/ Geoff Edwards and the $100K Pyramid w/ John Davidson 1991-92).

  • here is one

    October 31st

    Wear It Around Your Face

  • Wow this guy was the Scarecrow? Great job! Amazing voice acting.

  • The "Stop from any further scoring" bit was only done in the first two weeks of the run IIRC. Early on a team had to solve all four puzzles on a board to play for the Jackpot puzzle, I think it was soon lowered to three out of four. The tiebreaker was played by Henry reading Double Talk maingame puzzles. Teams would ring in to see who got first chance to solve the puzzle. First team to get two puzzles(20 points, as puzzles were worth ten points a piece) won the game.

  • Paging Zach:

Do you have any full episodes of "Double Talk" in your collection? If so, which ones?

  • Henry Polic is delightful even years later! We love you kid!

  • Anyone notice that the theme to the show sounds a heck of a lot like the Jackpot! Mike Darrow edition theme

  • It aired Double Talk in the Detroit market but on a different station. WXYZ channel 7didn't air Double Talk because it started to air midday news by then. It aired on WGPR (then-independent) channel 62.

  • That's more than you can say about WKBW or any other Buffalo station. Channel 7 had "Eyewitness News" at that time... and good luck getting Double Talk fed via cable from Erie or Rochester. I don't recall if WUTV/29 had this show.

Someone please clarify if otherwise was the case. Thanks.

  • The host should be John McCain.

  • Amen!

  • henry polic II was a poor mans bert convy

  • the bonus round was almost entirely a pyramid ripoff, same clock tick sound, trilons and all .. and Henry Polic II, wtf :P

  • I like the linkage of this video to the ones of Hillary doing her own brand of "double talk." LOL!

  • That set is ugly.

  • Yup, this is really the 1st episode b/c the very 1st special guests were Betty White and Stuart Damon!!!

  • The theme song was from another Bob Stewart game, "Blankety Blanks" with Bill Cullen.

  • I thought the theme sounded familiar. But Double Talk was a remake of the show called "Shoot for the Stars" with Geoff Edwards (Teh main game mainly)]

  • For those of you that never saw this show, there were 2 celeb/civvie teams and the team in control chose from 1 of 4 screens and then was given a phrase, title, etc. in another wording. Each teammate had to solve each half of the phrase to score 10 points. If they missed or failed to guess, the other team could steal for 5 pts. and end the round. 4 rounds were played and pts. increased. The team with the higher score after 4 rounds, played the endgame for $10K!!!

  • Yes, and the Blankety Blanks theme began with a cool guitar intro.

  • Didn't this show suck?

  • Yeah, it sure did!
