  • We enjoyed the guided tour yesterday with our guests who were visiting from New Jersey.

  • i remember when you could have free run of the ship, but as usual, scumbag people ruined it by stealing and damaging stuff....,great piece of history, seeing this ship is recommended! knowledgable tour guides. great experience!

  • my grandfather served on the uss slater j.d. hatfield

  • Excellent job! You managed to strike the perfect balance between talking fast enough to get as much info as possible across without sounding incoherent. I just wish you'd spent a little time on the Hedgehog. Unintersting to amatures I know. Anyway I tried to plug you guys in my review of the Cannon class, I hope it sends at least a few folks your way. She's a fine example of a whole type of ship that rarely gets their due credit due to their size and the meloncoly nature of their task.

  • i was there when you guys were i think

  • mr slater is kin to me my name is steve davis falks i live in albertville alabama

  • Great video! My late father served on the USS Schmitt (DE 676) during World War II. Interesting to see how he and his crewmates worked and lived on the ship. Thank you Dad!

  • Tug Ben Elliot tow the USS Slater, a World War II era destroyer escort, from New York City to Albany for a museum.

  • @Blazetralr Thank you for the post. My Father served on the USS 239 Sturtevant during WWII. I plan to go and visit this summer and look over the ship. I would like to have seen the engine room. He served as a diesel mechanic.
