  • I was watching the "Sex Dungeon" documentary and one of the captives played this song with the captor dancing to it..

  • e e e ee even if i stutter i'ma still come off

    hahhahahaha

    kane is too legendary

  • Hip Hop at it's best. The B-I-G-D-A-(Double D)-Y-K-A-N-E!

  • "the rap soloist you dont want none of this" blatant shot at Rakim...

  • @BeenaBee "I'm a smooth operator operatin correctly" They always had subliminals to eachother haha love both.

  • @TheAndyBOfficial yea smart battling on record, this is exactly what is missing in hip hop. Subliminals thrown back and forth to keep the fans engaged with every album or song...

  • BUMPIN!

  • top rated comments fail

  • Bc one 2010

  • @RAthaPunisher ya I'm not denying that 90s was the golden age, but there are some rappers out now that BDK couldn't touch lyrically. People like Ken Starr, Wax, The Palmer Squares, An0maly are just lyrically advanced, and yes they are all pretty much underground. And MC Juice would destroy Kane in a battle haha, but hes a 90's rapper kinda. He battled in the 90s, but most of his tapes and albums were released after 2000.

  • @UgliestGuyEver I feel ya there are real lyrical MC's underground but not as well rounded as Kane or Rakim they have the whole package, the epitome of a true, well rounded emcee feel me

  • And if you are what you eat they're feedin' me dope

Cos I'm just about as dope as dope can get

rappers these days can't even dream of makin' bars like that DAMN!!!

  • the best song on Long Live The Kane album!!!

  • YO!!! I had the BEST EXPERIENCE EVER as a teacher!!!! ONE DAY, I was running late to class (Teaching Health Ed.). The year was 1990 or '91 I forget! ANYWAY, BRYANT (student) and ADAM (student) had the entire class JAMMING TO THIS SONG!!! Please understand, they had no music, it was all improv and Bryant was Big Daddy Kane, and Adam provided all the beats, as the CLASS WENT OFF!!!!! All I could do is give them their props.

  • 88 he ruled

  • Old school rap is good and everything, but there are some new rappers that are light years ahead of this. And notice I said SOME, and no I don't mean Wiz, Mac Miller, or J. Cole. I'm just saying tht people who only listen to old school stuff and ignore anything new are missing out

  • @UgliestGuyEver not even put em' in a battle Kane will rip them a new asshole maybe only underground rappers can compete with Kane but only "maybe" 90's MC's definitely had skills to compete with 80's MC's cause 85-99 Golden Age of Hip-Hop so much skill during that time only some are as well rounded MC's as Kane

  • We used to chill & go ape on Kane ! I dig the fact that 14 yo kids are relatin' to these jams ! Now gonna go to Lovebug Starsky - Say what you wanna say.. Old school lives !!

  • Oh yes! Long live the Kane!

  • i bboy to this

  • Kane forever!!!!!!

  • true i feel yall i lovew me some eric b n rakim, kool g rap, epmd, krs1 dats real hip hop, n big daddy kane 1 of my favorites.

  • Turn off that Drake, Big Sean, and Lil Wayne. Thats little boy rap. Start listening to the grown man shit.

  • Bla bla bla. Any word that rhymes will do, dumb fucking niggers

  • @Trolintrolintrolin5 There is no point in trolling when your username says it. That defeats the purpose.

  • The guitar solo on "Give it up or turn it loose" is possibly the worst solo in the entire history of pop music.

To sample it repetitively like this is the crime of a mentally retarded person - or a typical nigger

  • i watch kickin it old skool last week and found my self searching for this song the rest of the week haha! finally found it! BDK is the beast!

  • Big Daddy Kane's flow is simply flawless!

  • damn im 17 been listening to oldschool rap since i was maybe 9 my mom used to have a yo mtv raps casset i member playing it over n over then we got a computer n i became a hip hop junkie always studing the art n listening

  • I think it's weird that im a 14 year old white kid and I'm the only one in my school that knows who this beast is.

  • @pamonicutt10 Same here

  • @pamonicutt10 WOW, STAY STRONG AND DARE TO BE DIFFERENT!!!!

  • @pamonicutt10 not weird, your just a G ;)

  • @pamonicutt10 haha i'm 15 and and i'm also one of the few on my school who know's kane

  • @pamonicutt10 keep it that way, you have a unique taste for hip hop that your school will never understand, the last thing you want to do is try having to explain to them who he is anyway. Let them figure it out on their own...

  • @pamonicutt10 You know the deal kid! We rocked this in the projects in 86! JDub!

  • @pamonicutt10 Cool, I'm 14 too and I bump to this.

  • BDKs flow at 0:38 kills me every time

  • and you thought eminem was fast...

  • lol i can't be the only one to prefer bdk over tupac/biggie, right?

  • @JustBeBased Nope, Kane is definitely better than Biggie.

  • This man said more in the first verse than all "new" rappers combined said in their whole album. Slap yourself if you don't love these ryhmes!

  • oh ya dogg trip ha

  • I meant Bboy song soz

  • Bo song

  • One of my fave pieces and cd's.

  • @khangtube92 That doesn't make any sense, don't compare that talentless crackhead to BDK -,-.

  • @khangtube92 no fucking way what r u drinking diet dum ass? enough said! crawl back to your shell you fucking retard!

  • @khangtube92 naw..we wanted to be Kane back in the day..who would want to be that other guy?

  • @khangtube92 Don't ever use that comparison again plz. If u do... explain why thank u ? Then I'll explain why ur wrong !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 廻シ蹴リ

  • jamming to this song at 8:30am good stuff

  • I always wanted to see Kane battle Rakim.

  • Its a pleasure to actually hear a bloke MCing properly as oppossed to all these modern day rappers all addicted to rhyming gibberish. Take notes amatuers

  • KLASSIK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • BBOYS KNOW WHAT TIME IT IS WHEN THIS DROPSS!!!!!

  • @Mr713Lopez WOULD HAVE is correct...too bad they had beef...even a public battle btwn the 2 would have been crazy

  • I'm too poetically inclined one of a kind true and divine the genuine breakin a bond and gettin mine so freeze I'm makin it flow with ease and droppin the funkiest lyrics that ever been known to MC's cause I can recite it fast or even rap slow man I can just talk and my shit'll flow

  • hip hop god

  • kickin it old school

  • Thats hot

  • old school fire

  • IMMENSE

  • Thumbs up if you're a bboy

  • I hate this song it screwed up my speakers

  • "Rappers take a step back but you will soon regret that I you ever had to confront me and you can bet that I come correct perfect in full effect..."

  • Proud owner of this album on CD and Vinyl.

  • One of the most lyrical rap songs of all time, man only if there were more artists that UNDERSTAND hip hop. Its not a commercial sport that can be ruined just to ooze every drop of money out of it. Man we all need to uprise and save hip hop before it is ruined. Please stop buyin all those fuckin albums off lil wayne and all those fake artists that are in it for the money. We need to SAVE hip hop!!!!

  • @besim234 i was being sarcastic

  • In a recent interview, Big Daddy Kane was asked who he listens to know, he says he "digs Lil Wayne, that he's a fan..that he likes his wordplay, but that lately he hasn't been as good as before", maan who would of thought, Daddy Kane's a Lil Wayne fan

  • I was so in love with him back in the day. One of many teen crushes lol... Music 70's80's90's era are timeless. . @piqueform me .. Iknow right? Me too . Remember when all the dances were fun and not pornagraphic. They were actually creative.

  • Even now when I hear this song ... I still get hyped up ...

  • @PIQUEFORM me too. dances were fun back then and not pornagraphic. They were actually creative.

  • *bows*

  • I Dance Break on this song, awesome XD

  • yo big daddy changed the pace in rap back in the day. He was a triple threat he had tight lyrics , he had swagg like no other, and he had scoop and scrap doing all the new jack dances but on the real he put the work in cuz behind the scenes BIG DADDY WAS THE JUICE CREW cuz he wrote for all of the crew . Back in the days they called it paying dues today they have ghost writters who never get to shine this is why big daddy work sounds so polished cuz he came up from the muscle

  • The energy in this song! "Raw", "Warm It Up, Kane", "Wrath of Kane", "Nuff' Respect"... NO ONE CAN COMPARE. Not even RAKIM or KOOL G could make a tracks this hype.

For some Golden Age inspired Underground Hip-Hop, check out my demo "Track Terminator" by Complex Mentality. If you're feed up with mainstream nonsense, this might give you hope that the true styles will return. Search for it right here on YouTube: "Complex Mentality - Track Terminator"

  • I first heard Big Daddy Kane back in June 1987 (Rhymin with the Biz). It was a summer night in Breukelene Houses(Canarsie,Brooklyn) and the radio was playing Rakim's Paid In Full Album the whole day. The first verse that Kane said was, "Well It's the Kane in the Flesh. Of Course I'm fresh. Oh, you thought that I was rotten. Huh, I beg your pardon." I was floored! No one was saying stuff like this. "Set It Off" proves it! If he is not the Greatest then he is in the Top 3!

  • This song, Ra's Lyrics Of Fury, G Rap's Men At Work are 3 tracks any MC must listen before thinking of battling any of those 3

  • Still the best out there!!! That's my word!!!

  • Nothing is cooler than saying what the heck in a rap song. nothing

  • Every time I hear this track.....my mind just explodes. This man and Rakim helped rewrite lyricism. DAMN!

  • Procter youth centre Manchester .....

  • this is my new breakdance song

  • 1 Person is a LIL wayne fan, but 425 people are BIG

  • @bladekid545

Drake > Lil Wayne >>> Kool G Crap

  • @DrizzyDrakeIsGod Stfu u little prick

  • @DrizzyDrakeIsGod why did u even mention kool g and no offence 2 wayne or drake cos they do ther own thing but if any1 of them battled against kool g they wuld b left tryin 2 catch ther breath as kool g wuld just unleash a monster multisyllabic 16 bar verse all in 1 breath that wuld destroy them

  • @DrizzyDrakeIsGod damn little troll get off the internet, it must be your bed time now isn't it?

  • @DrizzyDrakeIsGod Nigga shut the fuck out... Fuck you doing on a BDK vid talking that fucking non sense?

  • eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeven if i stutter i will still come off!!!!

  • "...eveeeeeeeeeen if a stutta, imma STILL come off!!!" Kane was TOO ill!!!!

  • i saw a concert from him at end of 80's that MTF can dance to making salto's and slides amazing keeping his vinyls save ;)

  • 1 person "don't want none of this"

  • Go with the flow, my rhymes grow like an afro

I entertain again and Kane'll never have no

Problem, I can sneeze, sniffle and cough

Eeeeeven if I stutter Imma still come off

  • I wanna buy this cd again!

  • I used to blast the hell out of this in my first car. Two 8s and a 6x9 screamin'. I didn't have a whole lot, but I didn't care. This song demanded to be pumped up!

  • @nhollowayiii I feel you on that one. I had 2 twelves, two 6x9's, two tweeters and a house amp in the trunk of my 1978 Bonneville...Awww yeah. SMH

  • best part 0:00 - 4:09

  • i agree

  • 1 dislike :D lol

  • @gvildeN321 I'VE NEVER SEEN THAT LOL

  • rza vs big daddy kane who wins?

  • @moshezz by pure lyricism, i'd say kane :), that guy IS a legend among mc's tbh

  • @XXARGRRR i would say is better then rakim

  • @XXARGRRR but rza is a real deep guy

  • @moshezz kinda hard to decide who's the best, impossible. Different styles through different times, well obviously newschool posers like gayne doesn't deserve shit but oldies like kane, krs-one, kool moe dee, run dmc, rakim, epmd, ll cool j, tupac, biggie, gangstarr, havoc, prodigy, ice cube, nas, bone thugs n harmony, twista, canibus, public enemy, bdp and so much more, can you really choose between them? :)

  • Look into my eyes while I lock it up!

  • You can tell Eminem liked Big Daddy Kane listen to Biterphobia one of my fave songs by him
