One COULD however ask if Drew would have become the famous Hollywood mogul she is today had Spielberg given HER the part of Carol Anne in Poltergeist (the less successful movie) and Heather the role of Gertie in E.T. (I say "yes!")

Ironically enough, JoBeth Williams eventually DID play Drew's mom, in Fever Pitch!

It's so funny. She couldn't possibly look more innocent---right down to the missing most of her teeth and speaking in that breathy, whispery way little kids often talk---yet when she starts talking shop and name-dropping, she sounds like an adult. Hollywood will do that to you, I suppose.

Drew wasn't anywhere near as eerily adultlike as Dakota Fanning (who I STILL think is really a 70-year-old-woman wearing a disguise, LOL), but she did have those tendencies.
