@christachick, Don't you realize that it's a trap? Religion is a test of your sense of morality. If you reject it because you realize how immoral it is then you pass the test and win your freedom from superstition. If you fail, and adopt the sort of morality that allows you to, for example, persecute people you don't know simply for being gay, then you are made into a slave in this life, and punished in the next one. It's up to you to think about what is really right or wrong and make a choice.

@ananiasacts Excuse me. I am not religious..I am Christian. Religion is following a b and c with out learning a thing or changing it any way. I keep my mind open to learn and chance and I will never call myself or act like I can ever be perfect. Religion is a rule book but Christianity is growing in God and being willing to change. I do not believe in being gay. But I do not judge them for it and never will.

@christachick, I'm confused by what you said. How can you be Christian without being religious? The word is defined to mean "believing in and worshiping a superhuman controlling power or powers, esp. a personal God or gods." The way you describe your "faith" sure sounds like what the word "religious" means. I just used gay as example for brevity. Almost every single idea from religion is morally repugnant, beginning with the idea of worship itself. No decent entity wishes to be worshipped.

@christachick, I think that's a matter of opinion. I doubt if you would object to a video that condemned child abusers. Yet practically every religious person abuses their own children by indoctrinating them.  A young child has no defense to that sort of information. They are unable to be critical of it. Thus, if a religious person honestly felt that we should all enjoy the constitutional "freedom of religion," they would want their children to free of it until they were able to be critical.

@ananiasacts Your right alot of people that call themselves Christian are hateful and bitter and do evil things in the name of God which is wrong. Just like it is wrong for someone to mock Christianity. As Christians we are not meant to be perfect but we are asked to try which starts by not judging others and as such I ask that people judge me as who I am as a person and not by be being Christian. I am not lifted in others eyes for being a Christian but I need to lift up Christianity.

@christachick, I do not believe it wrong to rebuke that which we honestly see is evil. I do agree that the wisest way to do so is with language that is as clinical and objective as possible so that people are not needlessly bruised. But that doesn't really apply in here where we don't typically have room to be so diplomatic. I believe that religion could be a very good thing, but that as it stands it does a lot more harm than good. I wrote a blog essay explaining how it could be fixed.
