  • THANKS! SUBSCRIBED!

But what do I do If I want an object from the video to be in front of the 3ds max object? Please reply!

  • create an object that is the same size as the actual object, and just apply a matte/shadow material to it. make sure it is in the same place as the actual object aswell.

  • Autodesk 3ds Max

  • Awsome thanks so much for taking the time to make this video. I have been looking for this only found motion track and I'm learning max so its perfect. Thanks SUBCRBD hope to see more.

  • Best tutorial I Ever See Thank U Men

  • that is pretty awesome. thanks for the tutorial ^^

  • its amazing how something that looks hard and you see in films CGI and just by your tutorial you make it ever so simple cheers!

  • Yah but what if you want a moving a object such as a person!

  • you must rotoscope and animate your person shaped plane to match the persons outline. It is very time consuming. Once The plane is animated to match the person use matte material, again ensure the plane is in front of the 3d object. Hope this helps?

  • I dont get with the material. I go to edit material and click on matte/shadow and now what do I do with the other settings?

  • Nothing, just apply the material to your surface object and it will render invisible but still receive shadow. Hope this helps..

    Jess

  • thanks, it works

  • thanks a lot!

  • I have the biggest question. How do you put a character you made in 3ds max behind an object the movie or picture you recorded. You did something like that in alien youth. You put the character behind the computer. Please respond!

    sincerely,

    chris

  • You put a plane with matte material in the scene where you want your object to go behind, your video or picture will still show through but you object disappears behind it.

  • @PictureBandit sorry if this is a noob question, but what is a matte material? more importantly how do i make one?

  • Just a think about the rendering prosses:

There are a few rendering plugins that come with 3d studio max:

    -The default scanline renderer

    -MetalRay Renderer

To make your rendering go by much faster-- goto "assign render" all the way at the bottom of your rendering menu. And at "Production" select "..." and then Select "mental ray Renderer"

IT goes by a lot more faster than the default...even on older slower computers at higher resolutions. ;)
