  • The clothes are not authentic. The fabric, embroidery, and batik are all store bought made to resemble Hmong-Miao traditional handmade garments which typically takes years to make. It is sad that modernization has taken its toll on Hmong-Miao art.

    Fortunately, there are still authentic stuff. But it's real expensive. It takes days/weeks/months to make, so like Medieval European chain mail and armor, the authentic stuff is expensive! This is why people opt for the lessor things, since everyone nowadays has no time to learn the arts. They're all working in the factories. Well, except maybe rural villages in China, Laos, Vietnam, Thailand, etc.
