While some might think this ending makes more sense I think it clearly doesn't, because if they stopped Judgement Day then Kyle Reese would've never gone back in time and impregnated Sarah Connor. So, there is no way this story line works.
Also, by T2: Judgement Day end Sarah and John Connor would've been viewed by FBI and CIA as terrorists... there's no way John would have been able to become a Senator with a skeleton like that in his closet.
Really? Man it just seemed bogus to me cause she says Michael Jackson turned 40 and that she got drunk. WTF! Sounds like a piss take. What the hell was Cameron thinking when he shot this? Thank god he came to his senses and used the other ending.
i like this alternative ending because this makes T3 just a cheap copy and technically t3 is not part of the terminator franchise because of this ending.
Makes me wonder if cameron saw the future of the terminator franchise and made this ending lol
This T2 ending would have made T3 very alternate universe... If they used this T3 would be a reimagining or go straight to the world of SCI FI which which is not a bad idea... They shoulda Made T4 a reimagining of the entire series.
True, but I like how the original ending leaves you hanging a little bit. Nothing is implied to happen later on, but it's not exactly finite either. But T3 did piss me off.
I, personally, don't think Terminator 4 will be that good. I love Terminator 1 and 2, and, though Terminator 3 wasn't that good, it's still always fun to watch Arnold kick ass, which he still does. I tried watching the TV show, and I know a lot of people like it, but the Terminator series just isn't that cool without him.
ok so if this was the ending then how would the terminators have got sent back in the first place? it wouldnt have made sense. T3 sucked yeah.. but t4 looks fuckin sweeeet!
T2 was based around the premise of changing the future. You heard the line in the first two Terminators "The future's not set." The terminators were from one possible future, not a certain future.
Anyway, I think this ending would have been fine, but leaving it open-ended lets the audience draw their own conclusions (or in the case of the next two movies, more money to be made). I didn't like T3 either, but T4 looks great, and I can't wait to see how Christian Bale plays John Connor.
I agree with all your statements. This ending would have been okay, but leaving it open-ended allows for more sequels, and although T3 wasn't great, T4 does look pretty darn good. I think Christian Bale will do a good job.
Hellllo! Judgement Day was fast forward to when John and Kate were married, and the Terminator missles were launched. Also, John became the leader of the human resistance, and it was the year 2029. Then, the terminator that became John's friend killed him. So, the terminators won the war
This is an awesome movie! Im soon going to work on a new movie where my friend is going to be Arnold and the story will be epic from there. Watch my 1st Modern War Action film if you like too :D
if sarah connor successfully stopped judgement day from happening, then there would have been no terminator sent back in time to save john connor, hence the storyline of t2 never occured, hence sarah connor cannot think back to when she saved the world with arnie as it never happened.
Well, then they could have did this a different way. Say that this peace last for a good time, but then something bad happens still and Judgement day comes, it could be like a different version of T-3 Lol.
Yes, this is how it SHOULD have ended, no questions asked. It makes perfect sense....
Destroy Cyberdyne and the most important files, (Miles Dyson basically kills himself, so that was a plus to the aforementioned), destroy the first terminator evidence, destroy both terminators in T2 leaving no evidence they were ever there, and done, no judgement day.
DUHHHHH, but one people call this an alternate ending????????????, it was the real ending of THIS movie T2, awesome movie, and the ending was great if it was the last one, producers werent prepared for more movie now they are and that ending gets erase, and it awesome but common people are morons to be surprise that is an alternate ending
"No fate but what we make for ourselves" what a piece of shit quote, makes absolutely no sense at all. A better quote would be, "Whatever happened, HAPPENED".
lol adult John Connor looks nothing like that punk-ass looking kid Edward Furlong. In comparison, I like Nick Stal w/e better than Furlong, looked a bit more like Reese, just a LITTLE.
The adult John Connor should look like in the beginning of T2 (is it the same actor as in this ending?). Or at least like Christian Bale ;-)
btw. I don't like this Ending, the regular ending is better. But this ending shows, that theTerminator series is meant to have only TWO parts not FOUR
As awful as I think this ending is had they used it maybe it would be better since we would have never gotten T3 and T4 ( although that might change after I see it. People say that had this been the ending it wouldn't make sense but the whole story to the core is impossible anyway.
It is only a small bit at the end with his face masked on to Roland. Linda is officially on the cast list as doing voice overs. She must think that it's better than T3 for her too do it.
The makeup job back in '91 was terrible, but the great thing about this scene is that James Cameron can always reshoot the scene with an older Linda Hamilton in a few years and she'll actually be closer in age to what she's supposed to be in this scene.
as a HUGE Terminator fan, I like watching all these comments and shit come up on thesse videos. I think you all are right, because thats the beauty of the Franchise. Its a huge mind fuck that lets you think whatever the hell you want, and they can take the movies in any direction. To BrigidaGoneStupid, yeah she said 1997, but thats not when the monolouge is taking place, thats taking place 30 years later. And yes Judgement Day was Aug 29, 1997. And J.C. could exist if they stopped cause he was
J.C. could exist because he was already there, he wouldn't disapear into thin air, or could he, point is, its fucking awesome movie, along with the other Terminator stuff out there. And Salvations is gonna kick ASS! They changed the FUTURE! Peace.
I'm glad this ending was scrapped. Didn't much care for it. Firstly it didn't make sense, obviously. Secondly did she just think "Oh, its been about 30 years since we all shoulda been killed, lets record some monologues"?
This ending woulda spoiled T2 a little bit, so I am glad common sense prevailed!
Is it me or she said 1997, that's only 2 fucking years after the Terminator sinked himself on the lava pool and Sarah is a granny! Thank Lord that was removed.
this ending doesnt make any sense. terminator time travel never changes the future... no matter how many times the machines try and kill conner or how many times the conners try to destroy skynet. their actions never change what happens in the first few moments of the first terminator. think of it this way...if judgement day never happened john conner would never be born.
basically, its all a paradox. everything with the terminator and kyle reese HAD to happen in order for john connor to be born and become the leader he was meant to be. Thats why this ending was scrapped, it didn't make sense with the logic of the time paradox. Judgement day had to happen for John Connor to be born. It's really fascinating.
jesus man, this is a fancise, and there's shitloads more money to be made from this from that point. it would have been insane to have ended it all up all nice only after just two films.
She got drunk because if she went screaming through the streets like she wanted to she'd be locked away again. As for the Michael Jackson thing, I think it was put in there to show just how unimportant that day became; instead of Judgement Day, that day was best remembered as MJ's 40th. This is a legit alternate ending, it showed up on the very first special edition-- 2 VHS tapes!
I always thought Terminator 3 was a great ending for the series and I felt Salvation was unnecessary. But that's just my opinion and I will be seeing part 4 next month.
I agree...T3 was a great movie...it just wasnt a movie that had a gunz ablazing end. In fact T3 was great because it gave a whole new life to the Terminator series with out it being lame. I was a storyline used to build a new plot...not a story to end the series.
dude thats an awesome ending, but i can see why they took it out: in Terminator 3 (and if you've seen the sarah conner chronicles) sarah connor gets luchemia a couple years after the event of T2
Christian Bale is playing John Connor in "Terminator Salvation" I dont think you could ask for a better actor to play that role - other than Michael Bien who played Reece in the original movie! As for people saying its going to be shit without Arnold? Eh - he was in T3 & that was SHIT - besides he is TOO old now for that kind of role - its a NEW generation - a NEW direction - a NEW TERMINATOR & with a great director & cast - its gonna be Fantastic!
Not only that, but the T-100 isn't supposed to be developed until some time after the plot of the new T:S movie takes place. The T-100 is still in development in the movie's time setting.
I found out that Arnold will be part of the movie, but you just won't be able to see him in it. Arnold is going to use his voice for his actual terminator character while someone else does the acting. It's just like how James Earl Jones and David Prowse did it for Darth Vader in the Star Wars movies.
i could see that, and the SFX for an arnie look alike would not be expensive to do because the t-100's looked really fake and could be spotted from a mile away (as Reese explained in t1)
wow you know the crazy thing about this ending is 2009 pretty much looks like this future anyway. most like in another 10 years I dont think much will really change.
It's all okay. In 2028, SkyNet sends a terminator back in time to prevent Terminator 3, Salvation or the Sarah Conner Cronichles from being made: "Come with me if you want your franchise to live."
oh god, if only... waited so long for T3 and they cast that stupid bimbo. "I like your (insert noun)." Her only line in the whole god damn movie, repeated several times.
I mean what the fuck? The T-1000 was a social dynamo, he made realistic banter, held conversations, acted perfectly normally, a convincing human, and the T-X was some straw-brained psycho bot barely capable of stringing four words together?
The terminator series ended with T2. T3 just dug up the corpse and sold off the bones.
Lol micheal jackson turned 40. Those last few words that Sarah said are very important..."The Terminator learned the value of human life...maybe we can too."
If you click on my username or do a search for "Terminator Spacecamp" I just uploaded an original fun trailer remix! I'd appreciate any views or comments...
ok , ct92404 already said this but since people don't seem to be listening ill repeat it: JOHN DOES NOT DIE IN THE NEW TERMINATOR. in john's supposed to die in 2032, the movie takes place in 2018, besides John can't die in the new one because he still has to send kyle reese back in time and a re-programmed terminator back in time about 10 years after the movie takes place.
no, i just had a terminator marathon a couple days ago so i they're fresh in my mind and i just used common sense, movie takes place in 2018 and he dies in 2032, there you go
Terminator 4 ending = In the ending, John Connor (played by Christian Bale) dies in a battle against a T-800, the same model famously portrayed by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the previous trilogy. With their leader dead, the resistance rip off Connors flesh and put it on Sam Worthingtons character, a human/terminator hybrid named Marcus Wright.
Wow...you think you're so clever trying to give away the "ending." Except that you're only going on internet rumors. This movie takes place before the T-800's were even built. Also, John Connor has to survive in order to send Kyle Reese back in time. Also, in Terminator 2, the "good" terminator specifically said that John Connor himself re-programmed it and sent it back in time from 2029. This movie is only 2018.

As for people saying its going to be shit without Arnold? Eh - he was in T3 & that was SHIT - besides he is TOO old now for that kind of role - its a NEW generation - a NEW direction - a NEW TERMINATOR & with a great director & cast - its gonna be Fantastic!
"Terminator Salvation"

Not only that, but the T-100 isn't supposed to be developed until some time after the plot of the new T:S movie takes place. The T-100 is still in development in the movie's time setting.

Also, they said that arnold couldn't keep being the terminator because he was the governor of California. that's just what i heard though.
PIM00 2 years ago
I found out that Arnold will be part of the movie, but you just won't be able to see him in it. Arnold is going to use his voice for his actual terminator character while someone else does the acting. It's just like how James Earl Jones and David Prowse did it for Darth Vader in the Star Wars movies.
Video840 2 years ago
i could see that, and the SFX for an arnie look alike would not be expensive to do because the t-100's looked really fake and could be spotted from a mile away (as Reese explained in t1)

It's all okay. In 2028, SkyNet sends a terminator back in time to prevent Terminator 3, Salvation or the Sarah Conner Cronichles from being made: "Come with me if you want your franchise to live."
fenifipie 2 years ago 2
oh god, if only... waited so long for T3 and they cast that stupid bimbo.

I hate to say, but you are right. 'The terminator series ended with T2. T3 just dug up the corpse and sold off the bones.'

Lol micheal jackson turned 40. Those last few words that Sarah said are very important..."The Terminator learned the value of human life...maybe we can too."
Since with the war,death,and predjuce.

What a shitty alternate ending..michael jackson turning 40..completely irrelevant. This was as bad as the whole T3 movie.

i get why this ending was taken out but frankly i would have kept it to prevent T3 from happening.
Too bad i can't go back in time to stop t3 from ever being made.

This ending would of sucked. Too happy for the Terminator series.

ok , ct92404 already said this but since people don't seem to be listening ill repeat it: JOHN DOES NOT DIE IN THE NEW TERMINATOR. in john's supposed to die in 2032, the movie takes place in 2018, besides John can't die in the new one because he still has to send kyle reese back in time and a re-programmed terminator back in time about 10 years after the movie takes place.

no, i just had a terminator marathon a couple days ago so i they're fresh in my mind and i just used common sense, movie takes place in 2018 and he dies in 2032, there you go
00tyler 2 years ago
it's a movie, the characters will die when the writer wants them to die.

Madis090 2 years ago
Wow...you think you're so clever trying to give away the "ending." Except that you're only going on internet rumors. This movie takes place before the T-800's were even built. Also, John Connor has to survive in order to send Kyle Reese back in time. Also, in Terminator 2, the "good" terminator specifically said that John Connor himself re-programmed it and sent it back in time from 2029. This movie is only 2018.
ct92404 2 years ago
Movie ends in 2029.
CANT YOU REMEMBER TERMINATOR 3?
Terminator (Arnold) said: My model T-800 kills you because you trust too much robots...

This is horrible, horrible, this ending.
Glad they scrapped it. Cameron has a thing for having one good ending and an absolutely terrible alternative, it seems.
