I am that 1% who did rupture, I almost died my baby girl died 16 days later due to brain damage, I am totally against VBAC, so not worth the risk, if i could go back 19 years ago I would have had the repeat csection! Do away with VBAC , once a c-section always a c- section!
I know plenty of women who have had safe vaginal births after 2 or more c-sections. Studies indicate that IF LEFT ALONE the chance of uterine rupture in VBA2C is about 1% which is much smaller than the risk of many other things that go wrong in labor (like cord prolapse, etc.) Rupture can happen to moms BEFORE labor starts AND is also possible in women who have never had a c-section. What a worthless video. The only thing I trust less than an MD or an attorney is someone who is both!!
I have had SIX unnecessary c-sections and and found a wonderful doctor who strongly supports VBAC. Hopefully he will be my doctor with this birth, I am due in the middle of August.
Please ladies, after 2 c-sections it is VERY possible to have your baby naturally!!! FInding a doctor to support you is the HARD part, not having the baby!!!
I just finished attending an amazing birth...a VBAC after 4 cesareans. It was a beautiful birth for the baby and the mother. I am so thankful for the doctor that trusted the birth process enough to attend her birth. Don't allow misinformation and scare tactics to take away your chances at a VBAC.
And I speak from experience. I had my VBAC almost two years ago. It was life changing for me and a gentle entrance into this world for my daughter.
women, you can do whatever you want. own your birth dont let doctors and medico-legal 'experts' like this guy dictate your experience.
evidence strongly supports VBACs with spontanious onset of labour. its safe and empowering for you and your baby. trust your body- it knows what to do. just look at all teh amazing VBAC stories and videos here on youtube.
Wow, if I went back to the hospital where I had my c/s and I blinked inappropriately, they would cut me open again in a flash. I think the real problem is that they intervene way too much in a low risk birth, not too little. Why don't they teach OBs some low tech ways to help mom and baby, like Ina May Gaskin stuff.
Ladies think about it..this guy makes his money by women who have c-secs not by those who have natural births so of course he is going to be narrow minded like the rest of them. Induction is the number one cause for uterine rupture, if you can stay clear of that and listen to your body you can have a successful VBA2,3,or 4C. Yes its happened plenty of times.
This happened to me. I told the doc something had gone wrong twice but she ignored me. My baby suffered stage2 hie stage 3 and its a big risk of cerebal palsy. If u feel something wrong make them check the baby.
I agree with you guys. Don't believe this guy. A vba2c has close to the same successes as a vba1c. And ACOG does recommend a vba2c. I just read it today. I am going to try and arrange a vba2c. I just need to find a way to relocate to a bigger city where they will let me attempt it...
What a sad opportunity for you to advertise your business. Obviously you must need business or you would not feel the need to advertise here on youtube.
Vbac are much safer then a repeat c-section. Ladies check your information before listening to this guy advertise for his business.
You are spreading misinformation. How very sad. I just had my VBAC at home. It was a beautiful, safe birth- much safer than the birth my first child suffered through. Women need to learn to trust their bodies and intuiton more than the opinion of some random man on YouTube.
Thirdly: Sure, the goal is a healthy baby, but cesareans, especially before labor increase risks of respiratory distress and death for the baby. And what about the mother? I guess she's of no importance since the maternal mortality rate for cesareans is many times more than vaginal delivery
Second:I love how you say women with 2 previous c-sections are "not allowed" to VBAC. A woman can not be forced into a procedure she doesn't want. She has the right to refuse even a 'recommended' procedure. They wouldn't call it an 'elective' repeat cesarean otherwise.
Thanks, now i am scared to even consider VBAC even though my doctors think I am perfectly capable of having one.

@sxymomoftheyear I'm sorry that happened to you. This is a very narrow minded statement, c section carried just as many risks,

While Zev Gershon has gone to medical school, he has never practiced medicine or completed a medical internship.

First of all: You need to check your facts. ACOG says women with 2 c-sections wishing to VBAC should not be discouraged from doing so.
