So glad I found this video, never knew it existed....lucky me. Vedder knows where it's at.. not many could pull off a song like this off and make it real. Absolutely amazing.. :)
When human beings will develop true EqualVision Compassion for their smaller/weaker brothers, the animals, especially the Cows, and work to stop cruelty to them, then the Good Lord will bless your attempts to end human misery via senseless wars. We sow what we reap, so we're reaping untold misery via wars, incurable diseases, natural disasters, communal violence etc. simply by our remaining callous toawrds God's other created life forms, which we enjoy as our meals. So, we're ALL Masters of War!
But that's not to say i don't appreciate Masters Bob Dylan and Vetter, and their poignant lyrics/delivery for the right cause. I'm just commenting on the Bigger picture, as i've imbibed it since 1977 from the Vedas, as brought to this side of Bharatvarsa in 1965 by HDG Abhaya Caranaravinda Swami Prabhupada. Who, by the way, profoundly appreciated Mr. Dylan also! While discussing the Beatles as "Great Musicians", Dylan's name was invoked. Prabhupada instantly gave credit where due by stating:
by informing his disciples that "[Bob Dylan's] MORE THAN [the great musicians, i.e. the Beatles]" This is significant because George had already extolled the virtues of Krishna Consc. via My Sweet Lord, and he and John had given graciously to the HKMovement. Thus a Vedic sage was well acquainted with the inimitable spiritual/cultural contribution of Bob Dylan; whom the Beatles themselves practically admitted was their guru (Bob), which i discovered on Yutube last year.
Hey, If you like Eddies performance here...check out his version on David Letterman...VERY powerful...my favorite!..PS Letterman's a dick...and so are the Masters of War!
if you want to stop these "masters of war" you've got to stop the rothschilds, the rockefellers, the bilderberg group and the counsil on foreign relations. Bush runs nothing. LOOK THEM UP, SAVE AMERICA. This is not a joke.
I will be honest here: I was never a huge Dylan fan, until I saw him at the Montreal Forum (3rd row on the floor) in 1977. I have learned so much since. Pearl Jam was "just more noise" until I listened to "Bobfest". This vocal performance of a powerful song has made me a fan for life. Listening to it on headphones still sends chills down my spine. It ranks with Peggy Lee's Fever,Tennessee Ernie Ford's 16 Tons and Johnny Cash's Hurt as being a truly epic!
The main word was " majority" And that is the main substance. Unfortunate that most of the majority are being fooled and lulled into silence with " Panem et Circences" = Bread and Circus" I give you TV today, the Media is nothing more than the extension of a corrupt Goverment = The Ancient Romans knew how to keep the masses quiet, whilst the Roman Troops bled their life-blood on foreign soil. And for what ?
You are on the right path. Stay there and dont stop asking questions. Dont ever stop.
We dont need Bush, we dont need War, we dont need
weapons, and we dont need violence. We want our babies back. We are sick and tired of your political games. Go to Hell, thats where you come from, but dont try to take us with you. People of the Planet, UNITE against those who send your sons and daughters to die.PEACE must be our priority.
well your not alone, and i think a majority of people would agree with you, alas the world works more on a fuck the morals doesn't it make get us any A: power or B: money. we can all hope. "Conformity means death. Only protest gives a hope of life." (bertrand russel) protest against war, and live, have war, and die, unless pacifists are still shot at dawn that is ;-) the only good thing to come out of war is some of the fantastic protest music!
god this is just, so full of conviction. and his voice is so raw. i could watch it over and over again.
