@mtcanz I was orthodox before I came to Christ, I know Torah and Mesorah. Now that I am in Christ, I acknowledge him as the perfecter of my faith (Heb. 12), however I keep the Jewish days as my days, not out of obligation Rom. 14) but out of respect for my heritage. Paul himself, we know that Paul observed the Jewish days because of verses found in Acts 27:9, and because of ac.17:1-4, but we also know he did not preach the Law of Moses, nor do I!
If you have to keep translating Judaism or rationalizing it /substituting the words with Christian ones then you do not truly embrace Judaism.I respect all beliefs but don't change words or quote Paul as Jews don't embrace Paul nor do we knock him.
Hi, Sun. Thanks for your response. Who was embracing Paul when the church was flourishing in the first century? The church was almost entirely Jewish, so Jews have in fact embraced Paul, because they embraced Yeshua as the promised Messiah of Israel.
What do you do about Yom Kippur today since there is no more sacrifice? Where is the blood for the atonement?
my guess would be that you are one of them (Jews for Jesus). Forgive me if I am wrong, but if correct, an explanation or any discussion would be pointless.
I'm just a gentile who loves God with all my heart. Through His Son, the Messiah Yeshua He's given me life, and as a result, He's put a love in my heart for Israel and the Jewish people.
Can you please look at something for me with an open heart? I'm going to post some text in the next two posts for you to read.
Unfortunately, it has been rare, but I believe true Christians will love Yeshua's people. I fellowship at a congregation that has the flavor of a 1st century church - Jew & gentile, one in Messiah.
Paul wrote that gentiles who believe in the Jewish Messiah become grafted into the commonwealth of Israel. So I am a grafted-in Jew....a spiritual Jew ("Jew" simply means, "God praiser").
(Part II) Af the end of the 2nd portion, I'd like to ask you a question...
"Behold, My servant shall prosper, he shall be exalted and lifted up, and shall be very high.
He was despised, and forsaken of men, a man of pains, and acquainted with disease, and as one from whom men hide their face: he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
Surely our diseases he did bear, and our pains he carried; whereas we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted."
"But he was wounded because of our transgressions, he was crushed because of our iniquities: the chastisement of our welfare was upon him, and with his stripes we were healed.
All we like sheep did go astray, we turned every one to his own way; and LORD hath made to light on him the iniquity of us all. "
(Part IV) (I"m sorry -- it didn't all fit in the two posts)
"He was oppressed, though he humbled himself and opened not his mouth; as a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and as a sheep that before her shearers is dumb; yea, he opened not his mouth."
***
The question is this; could you please tell me who you think the above is talking about? And where do you think it's from?
Again, if you've made it this far, I truly thank you for your patience and willingness to engage.
Oh, sure: Isaiah 53; long used by the Christians to point to the "prophecy" of Jesus. Needless to say if you go to the original Hebrew some verses that are given in KJV in the future are in the past, and Rabbinical interpretation is quite different (i.e., the Jewish people are meant). But, listen, you brought me into something I did not want to get into: a theological discussion. Especially, once it turned out that you are a gentile - be in peace and believe in Jesus.
I actually quoted this passage from an online Jewish bible, delphiz. The only changes I made were where it said "HaShem" I typed "LORD", and where it read "G_d", I wrote "God".
The rest is totally as it is from a Jewish bible.
The "Jewish people" interpretation does not work. You have to wrestle it to make that the interpretation. You have to fight against the plain reading.
God didn't mean for His Word to be read by some and explained to others. It is for YOU to read...and understand.
"Behold, the days come, saith HaShem, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah;
not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; forasmuch as they broke My covenant, although I was a lord over them, saith HaShem."
Note where it says, "NOT according to tthe covenant that I made with their fathers."
No, I meant that Yeshua brought the new covenant. And rabbis are men, just like you and me. God can and does communicate His truth through His word. I would just ask that you ask Him to show you. At some point we must determine - as Abraham - to follow God and truth wherever it leads.
when people believe in bible's god, even killing children becomes moral: Moses was angry with the officers of the army who returned from battle. "Have you allowed all the women to live? They were the ones who followed Balaam's advice and turned the Israelites away from the LORD in what happened at Peor, so that a plague struck the LORD's people. Now kill all the boys. And kill every woman who has slept with a man, but save for yourselves every girl who has never slept with a man. [Num 31:14-18]
Can I tell something :-)? Well the water for the netilá has to be living water, this means running water.
Shalom uvrachá

Ah, so you are a gentile who loves Jews. A rarity, and much (really) appreciated. But why call yourself a Jew then?

We worship the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Jeremia 31; obviously, the Rabbinical interpretation is different; but I am not going into theology with you, as explained previously.
