  • This got me all excited for my play!!! I just got cast as the scarecrow, and my first rehearsal was yesterday :D it's such a fun role :D good job!

  • So... I've been cast as the scarecrow for The Wizard of Oz (as our winter musical) and this video helped me more establish the character of my part. Thanks :)

  • Oh terrible!!!

  • I think some of you are being too hard on Dorothy, she may not have the greatest voice but she's good none the less and she is just a kid. I don't think she's that bad, but what did you mean she had a bit of influence for this role Trompthar?

  • Got the lion yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... just since there was too many ppl she mad there be lion cubs... watever ihope they dont get my funny lines

  • two words... OH MY WOWWIES... (lol that was three) anyway, acting auditions are next week, im tryin out for the scarecrow... any tips? ill report bck after we get the cast list!!! anyway, you were amazing, but dorothy's voice...um... well... lol

  • @TheLucian101 Just remember to have fun, you may want to where some knee pads, I did. Just be as limber as you can and be carefree with your movements. I didnt have any actual dance moves for my audition, but I did have some bruises afterwards, so dont be afraid to fall down!! hehe Break a leg and I hope you get the part!!!

  • @Trompthar thx!!! i just heard the director asked another person to sing if i only had a brain :( :(

  • @Trompthar lol you should she the audition i came up with... it made my ma fall off the couch laughing

  • @TheLucian101 just keep in mind, singing auditions are just a part of the entire role. Keep you head up and knock em dead with the performance part. If at all possible, get a video of your audition. If it knocked you off the couch, I would love to see it. Break a leg my friend.

  • @Trompthar Hey maybe ill put up the audition on youtube... lol well im gettin the cast list on monday.. btw i got two call backs.. one for the lion and one for the SCARECROW... YAY IM SO EXCITED they also asked me to sing were off to see the wizard! well i saw them nodding and smiling when i did the lion. but they wrote stuff down and smiled when i did the scarecrow! I wish I could read minds! Anyway just saying your performance/ act really helped me out. I'll tel u wat iget soon/ on monday. Thx

  • @TheLucian101 outstanding!! all the best my friend. Either way, Lion or Scarecrow.... my fingers are crossed for you!! Glad I could help out!!

  • i adore the scarecrow.

  • Comments? What are you doing, taking a straw pole. HAHAHA.

    It's actually quite good.

  • im scarecrow for my shool play. this gave me some good ideas thnks

  • not bad at all. :) I wish my school would of done this play.

  • you look just like the characters in the movie

  • Wow, you were great.

  • "What would you do with a brain if you had one?"

He'd probably quit this play and start a career in ACTING. Haahaha.

  • wow, excellent, you have given me lots of influence and ideas in how i can portray my Scarecrow, but i only have 5 days to learn everything. (show in a week) Eep.

  • Wow! You're a great dancer!

  • nice work as a scarecrow!

I wish I could do that, but because of asthma and some back problems, I cant. But great work on the dancing!

  • I was a female scarecrow for halloween one year [i made the costume look just like the orignal but with a skirt and brown stockings.], and unknowingly my friend asked me which way I was walking and I pointing to the left and said, "That way." Then I relized what I did I started laughing. xD I don't know, I thought it was funny.

  • hehe thats great XD

  • WOW! This performance was better than the movie!! My son is the scarecrow in an upcoming grade school performance. I bookmarked this for him to help him see how to just have fun with the role and relax and be floppy. GREAT JOB Trompthar! Tthanks for sharing this video clip!

  • only version ( other than movie ) That I have been able to watch start to finish , so that's saying something - awesome!

  • I only can say one word.. WOW!

I am also gonna play the scearcrow in the Wizard of Oz (a Swedish wersion) anyone got any tips?

  • Only tip I have for the Scarecrow is.... Knee pads and Elbow pads!!!

  • Yeah kinda get that after watchd this vid, thx

  • LOL, sorry, didn't mean to come off as a smart ass, but you do need them. The biggest tip is, have as much fun with the scarecrow as you can. Be carefree with the part and just let his character flow. And I will repeat... HAVE FUN!!

  • @J0NNASE nice im tryin out for the scarecrow too... wish me luck!!! anyway, remember to loosen it up and steal the show- show em what ya got!!!!!!

  • Being the Scarecrow is a rather physical role, but if you wear knee pads, its all good. :]

    I should know. Hahaa.

  • WOW...you were absolutely amazing and flawless. I don't think I can see a better performance than this!

  • *Claps* Very well done

You must have been rather sore the next day

  • the scarecrow does a great great job, orothy is kinda.... ahh not the same voice kinda thing as the real dorothy, great vid

  • i wish i could see you do yellow brick road scene

  • let me know which yellow brick road scene, and I will put it up. :)

  • oh, all of them! lol

  • oh you could do like the one where its you and dorothy for part 1, then part 2 would be you, lion and dorothy, then part 3 would be you, dorothy, and lion.

or if you have it, maybe upload the whole show.

  • Im playing scarcecrow in january, and this is bigg help man. Great movements. you must be a dancer or something.

Dorothy sounds like a dying animal tho. :]

  • You are amazing, but that Dorothy is awful. Iam in The Wizard of Oz, and yesterday was the auditions, I GOT DOROTHY!!!!

  • the scarecrow was amazing but the dorothy sounded Horrible

  • Well, you're awesome..but, that girl..well, it gives me a lot of hope in my upcoming WoZ audition!!

  • ...That girl..why are her wrists so small??

  • very good i am doing this play in about 2 weeks we start and i have the scarecrow part thats a very good job you did, im guessing you stole the show with that performance... well done!

  • Pretty good stuff here on your part. :) VERY Ray Bolger.

  • how fun! i was in annie and peter pan at the little theater!

  • I like your dancing. Can you upload more of this? I kind of want to see other parts of this great production. Where is your Theater, anyway?

  • I will try to get more of the show up soon. The theatre is the "Lucille Ball Little Theatre" located in Jamestown, NY just south of Buffalo. And thanks for your interest!!

  • Now the only way I can watch this is though Youtube becasue I live in Oregon. *Sobs* Very well done, by the way!

  • Well, it was performed in 1986...I am recently in the process of creating a dvd of the vhs for someone else, I can send you a copy if you wish...

  • I would love that!! Thank you!!

  • how do you get videos that you recorded like 15 years ago in to your computer i looked on my camera and i dont have anything on it to plug into my computer

    i am confused

  • that was really good!! im really excited i just got cast as the scarecrow at my school... so this gives me an idea on how to do it!!

  • We did the wizard of Oz as our school play this year. We did it on the 22nd and 23rd. I was the Scarecrow. No offence dude but in one of the parts when you were floppy dancing it could have been more funny. Your Dorothy was really, really, really, really bad. My dorothy is only 11 and she did it way better than your dorothy.

  • He didn't choreograph the dance, I'm sure.

    That's the choreographer's job.

  • youre an awesome scarecrow! the scarecrow is my favorite =]

  • I have dreamed my whole life to play Fiyero the Scarecrow. You are so lucky

  • i coulda done better though,if i only had a brain

  • hey im the scarecrow im our school production that really helped and u rock scarecrow dude!

  • Dorothy was horrible, but the Scarecrow rocked!

  • I think that's one of the shows at Little Theatre I attended... O.O

  • hehe really good :P enjoyed that! I'm auditioning for a production of wizard of oz tomorrow x

  • You did and great set

  • it's near the shore because it can be. because the shore is near the ocean. yes... deep...

and if you were the scarecrow, then I must set you on fire.. as I am now the witch in my high school production. yesh... ^_^ But I guess I'll set our scarecrow on fire instead... I know him better.

    nice dancing.

  • why is the ocean near the shore?

  • Because it doesn't go good with anything else.

  • of course...it all connects now!
