Oh yeah. Another thing that came in my mind was that was the week was when he trashed NASCAR about the debris caution. And in that race Stewart got the lucky dog after a pit road penalty for a debris caution.

The only big one Jeff Gordon ever started in my recollections was when he cut a left-rear tire I believe it was at Talladega in 1997 (the second race), and after his contact with Sterling Marlin, all hell broke loose. I'm not the biggest fan of Jeff (I don't hate him either), but if the points for 2004 and 2007 were reverted back to the pre-Chase format, Jeff would be a 6-time champion and Dale Sr. and Richard Petty would have company in history.
