  • OK, I've never played FF8, but even so, in the other FF games, I rarely ever use magic. I find it entirely situational and if I ever play this game, I'll probably not even bother drawing magic unless I absolutely have to.

  • @blkknightrutter you will need magic in FF8 maybe not to cast it but to Junction it (boost your stats) pretty much all its good for

  • 2 hours drawing magic spells? You need to find yourself a girl mate.

  • @JoeCoolFreeman you realize this vid was made 5 YEARS ago right?

and that this guy has become pretty successful due to his reviewing work...

  • @Lostprophetzzz Yes, I am very well aware of who Spoony is. But still....2 hours of drawing?! I mean, come on! I played FF8 and I didn't waste two hours of time drawing magic. (I used GF abilities and items to create magic).

  • I just love playing FF8 on the PSP while watching this! XD So much fun to just draw magic while listening to it!

  • Fun thing about FFVIII is the weird need to constantly re-invent the battle system as oppose improve it. Why improve the wheel when you can re-invent it every goddamn time?

  • I luv me sum Spoonz, but I also luvz it when Spoony does a meltdown ^_^ -- it is possible to just draw 1 magic, especially if it's something you really really need like tornado or pain or double. Tedious? Oh my, yes - notice how it's not in any other game after ff8 ....

  • To all the people bitching and saying "blah blah item and card refinement blah blah". Spoony is right. It's just trading one form of busy work for another. The only one I really use item and card refinement for is Zell because the idiot has a tendency of drawing only 2-3 spells at a time and sometime he'll miss.

  • @ResiDex14112 Uh, no. The player who spends two straight hours drawing has to either fail to understand the system, have a severe masochistic streak or be deliberately trying to not have fun so he/she can confirm the biases of his Internet buddies.

It takes less time to accumulate magic and make big stat jumps in FFVIII than it does to grind in earlier Final Fantasy games or most console RPGs - it's streamlined with minimum busywork. Spoony's review is hilarious, but it's flawed as a critique.

  • Gotta draw 'em all.

  • lol, I usually carry 5-10 casts of a certain spell.

  • Love Spoonyones reviews, they’re utter tripe but hilarious. This must be the third time I’ve watched this review of my very favourite game.

To be fair FF8 was a step in a more complex direction but his method of playing is tantamount to playing chess and only moving your pawns.

“They only move one space at a time but there in front so you have to move them all first arghh!”

  • @bailer4life lol I like FF8 but I've probably seen this review 20 times already

  • @bailer4life

Why was FF8 a step in a more complex direction? Complex in what way? And based off what Final Fantasy's you have played? FF8 has some of the most lazy story-writing and its battle system is contrived, abstract, and unnecessary. There's no real strategy to FFVIII's gameplay once you understand what to do. Its just tedious.

  • I wonder what he thinks of Final Fantasy XIII. That game is a fucking turd.

  • ff8 is the worst but i beat it without ever drawing. (except drawing gf's).

  • Actually, I wasnt even bothered with the draw feature. Kinda reminds me of ff 13's battle system.

  • i had trouble even watching, almost fell asleep...

  • ok I love FF VIII but you got a point, drawing sucks ass but meh...pain indeed...ps that was hilariously true

  • @Sekainoowaride lol this is Final Fantasy VIII you assholes

  • Its hard to say if FFII or FFVIII had the worse battle system.

  • It's weird, even though I agree with almost

Everything spoony says in this review, I still managed to enjoy going through this game. It will never be a favorite, but it has a charm that only a final fantasy on the ps1 can match. I can see how others dislike it,

But its still a quality square game, just with a misfired execution. That's my two cents anyway:) great job spoony

  • This guy should play Final Fantasy 2. Compare the FF2 battle system to FF8's battle system and it would make you NEVER want to complain about drawing magic spells in FF8. Sure you have to grind a lot, but compare that to FF2, you do NOTHING but GRIND in that game.

  • @DovahkiinXIII actually if you watch Spoony's shit, he's a huge fan of old school FF games, his own name "SPOONY" actually comes from FF2, i don't know he just really seems to hate FFVIII and the ones after for some strange reason, i actually kinda like this game but this is just freaking hilarious

  • you don't have to sit there and do that the whole time. Only if you want to max out on the number of times you can cast them, but yeah I hated this system.

  • Wait you have to actually draw magic over and over again when did this happen? I rarely draw magic in the game I get to about half away through the game. By leveling up GFs and weapons/items.

  • i cant believe i made it through this boring piece of crap game. this battle is finally fantasy 8 in a nutshell. story wise *off of memory* the rival school stories held some sort of interest but that got pissed away for 2 of the most annoying leads, squall and rinoa. holy shit 80 percent of squalls dialogue was "...". zell was a dork, quistis had zero ZERO character, irvine was an unlikeable chicken shit fraud douchebag, the villain sucked my asshole dry and the story, wait, WHAT FUCKIN STORY?

  • 5 years ago when i try to finish it i was at cd4 (60 hours-70hours of game,drawing,upgrade gf,..),last castle,being endless kill by monsters and boss,fuck im lvl 70with my team....ahah

Guess what?im screwed because to get full stats uve got to avoid regular monsters and only kill boss to be at the end of cd3 at lvl17,go to a secret place to get a gf and up my stats of everyone 1 by 1 with killing monsters with a specific limit of Quisitis..???

    I don't finish it,F*ck that sh*t!

    Drawning's boring

  • FF8...the bane of 100%ers and grinders, LOVE IT!

  • Just to be clear, Spoony does find out about the conversion thing, and he does abuse the fuck out of it as he should.

  • Maybe drawing seems pointless... because it is. There are way better ways of getting magic. You're just handicapping yourself.

  • Lucky for me, I have a Gameshark and really don't ever need to do this.

  • @DiddyKong0009 Nobody needs to do this. Just refine items and cards at the beginning of the game for the best magic in the game. Enjoy. People honestly need to explore the features of the game before bashing it. (I'm not saying you are.)

  • You can shop...you're just thinking of the GF ability to call upon any shop anywhere in the game

  • watching this makes me wanna play ffviii all over again!

    :D!!!!!!!!!!

  • Tell me you're aware of the ability to automate the draw process by manipulation of the settings menu and taping down the X button.

  • @PhonicsJunkie Or, ya know, there's item and card refinement. Then you don't have to ever draw again. Spoony obviously doesn't know how to play the game.

  • this is the only final fantasy game I didnt complete because I gave up from sheer boredom....( I had enough after disc 3) I fucking hated the draw system too! and to assign magic to attributes was just a pain. whats wrong with buying armor or finding treasure boxes with better weapons? not only that but the story was boring too! and playing in the "dream world" with those other 3 characters was just confusing.. I FEEL YOUR PAIN! lol

  • ...AND I HATE DRAW, AS WELL! *Ahem* So putrid... *sob*

  • This is the third time that I watch these series and it still gets me lauging every fucking time. I love Final Fantasy 8, but this is simply one of the best trolls on the internet. A likeable troll, but a troll nonetheless.

  • Dude, they're called draw points. Also, it's definitely not necessary to stock up 100 of every spell. That's bit overkill, and doing so will only make your characters easily plow through everything, so it's not even fun if you do that.

WTF is the point of drawing 100 scans?? That's the most useless spell in the whole entire game. Your argument is flawed.

  • 2 hours?? hmm actually it only took you 8 minutes... and this is even without junctioning to your magic, which makes you draw faster...

  • And dude... Lol, you really don't have to draw scans. If you want to use them, just go on Gamefaqs and look up a guide, but if you just want to use them for junctioning, then don't even bother. Scans aren't useful for junctioning at all.

Seriously, you don't have to draw every spell in the game and since it's such an easy game by itself, you don't even have to draw half of the spells to just make it through the game.

  • @NostalgicSince2005 Good luck defeating Omega Weapon.

  • @wilfffilmkijken Get Gilgamesh's card from Qustis, refine it into 10 holy wars, have all of your characters at low health before fighting Omega Weapon, and use them during the fight to make everyone invincible.

    Makes him a complete pushover.

  • @NostalgicSince2005 Great tip, I know, but I remember it to be a stressful fight nonetheless. Suddenly, your invincibility will be gone and so will your party if you don't act fast enough or when your just unlucky. Best way is still not levelling up, draw lots of magic and kick his ass with just one limit break. Going through the game without levelling up is no fun at all though.

  • @wilfffilmkijken In that case, just use two of your characters and have the other one not attack at all so that they can quickly use another holy war. I'm not saying that this is the "best" or "most fun" way of doing things, I'm just making the point that you really don't have to draw that much magic.

  • Also, you can make drawing MUCH more easier if you junction a spell to your magic stat. It's still tedious and they should have had characters draw, say... At least 10 spells every time they did it, but it's not as bad if you know what you're doing.

  • And third, you can shop without using a GF. That ability he's referring to just makes it possible to buy things from stores you've visited without backtracking to the place you want to shop at.

  • Holy shit... I'm only 3 minutes in and he's already done and said so many wrong things... Where do I begin? First off, drawing magic when you only have on party member is a horrible idea (you still need to draw the spell for your other party members). Second, it's actually good to avoid leveling up in this game and if you're so lazy that switching what ability your GF learns bothers you, then go play Final Fantasy Mystic Quest where the game does pretty much everything for you.

  • FF7 was able to get away with so much because of being the first "3d" FF. the problems with 8 were made pretty obvious here. what I will say about ff8 is that we - "the fans" were riding off the excitement of ff7. and the only reason i kinda like ff8 is becuase the nostalgia

  • There is no top comment so can you thumbs me up to the top?

    Thanks bros.

  • This is where Gameshark was for. I just went 'fuck it' and put in for all magic and actually fought in the game.

  • i used to draw from a different room with my PS3 pad

    down down X down X X

  • aaah, old times when Spoony was still awesome..and funny!

  • This god-foresaken HORSE SHIT!

  • Well even though drawing is tedious every problem you see in the game there is a way around it. With drawing you can forge those things with the abilities. To get AP go fight the cactuars who give you like 20AP per fight. As for Junctioning just use auto and tweak the areas you want. I mean its not that hard...

  • @ravenrage07 To be fair he does address that later in the review, and the game doesn't exactly signpost the fact that you can, so a person may well spend a large portion of the game thinking it's the only way.

  • @GeneralMontague That is true. I do love this review of the game. Its funny and I enjoyed it fully, but I just wanted to point that out in case others didnt know that.

  • This review is hilarious. I'm hearing my own words coming from someone else. "WTF am I doing?!?"

    LOL

  • You basically draw instead of level grind in this game. I'm not sure which is more tedious.

  • you have to also draw magic for all your party members if you want their stats leveled too

  • dude you dont have to draw that much lol.... i beat it with like 10 of each spell

  • lol this guys great.

this game does suck on the ps1, despite how much i love final fantasy.

BUT play this shit on an emulator, and u can turn of the frame rate! get 100 magic in like 5 seconds :D...

seriously made the game go from a 7 to a 9 for me lol

  • @SkaterOfA7X Emulater? Like the japanese console?

  • Spoony rules. Fuck the haters.

  • Guess what everyone this is his opinion about the game you dont have to agree and if you disagree you dont have to be a whiny little asshole.

  • hen i played ffviii i hardly ever drew spells, and when I did, it was just to cast them again. I hope Spoony knows that it's pretty much pointless :P

  • @merixcil The thing is, it's not pointless if you want to max your stats in order to take on some of the tougher side bosses in the game. You won't get very far against the Weapons with just a handful of spells drawn.

  • It's strange. I never bothered getting 100 of each spell and I still beat the game. Oh well!

  • I seriously hated how long it took me to get all the magic especially when you start out. Takes forever

  • 1:32 haha, yep! XD

  • 4:35-4:50 I wanna slit your throat now and teabagg ur f***ing body u little whore. Go to hell u little FF7 wannabe!!!

  • I just bought the game again after playing it 9 years ago. This review is actually pumping me up to play lol. I don't care what anyone says i love this game and all the other ff that i have played. Cant wait to start it.

  • why do people say the story is great??? its fuckin horrible!

have you ever read a decent book, seen a decent play, listened to some decent music. urghhh

  • Well, I draw all magic manually on my first play. On my second and on, I use cheat. XD . I enjoy the story of this game tho

And 1 more thing. You DON"T HAVE to rationalize junction system .... it's just a FANTASY game.

  • @friant0 well you gotta admit if they wanted you to get strenght attributes, they could have given strenght gems cause that would actually make sense, and yo could then at least use fire without haveing to worry about losing strength...

  • I never get tired of watching this with new captions every so often.

  • all the pointless drawing. if you ACTUALLY did that while playing the game i feel sorry for you. there are WAYYY more efficient and faster ways than this.

  • @777tWill777 Like what? Not saying you're wrong - I'd just like to know. If it takes too much space to explain here, please send me a PM about it - I have a hard time figuring out more efficient ways myself. See, I've just bought the game (trying to become a retro-game collector :D), and I'm still trying to learn. But the truth is - I've always sucked at Final Fantasy. And I hope to get someone's help to become better at it.

  • @kurvos Learn card and card mod, then just get some early refining abilities, then play the easiest card game in the world, win cards, congratulations, you've just broken the game in half.

  • @JesterMereel Easiest card game in the world? Oh, really? I bet you could find at least 10 card games in real life easier than this one. :P

  • @kurvos Honestly man, you keep the rules in line, and all it is is which number is highest that wins. Plus the AI is really silly. I found FFIX's card game to be more difficult, mainly because I rarely bothered to look up what the numbers meant and just generally went with the higher numbers are better rule of thumb and won most of the time anyways.

  • @JesterMereel I still know card games more easy. Plus another thing - I don't care.

  • @kurvos Okay...

  • @kurvos you cant do the game without much fucking draw grinding without being an expert...

  • I played through this game 4 times. I never spent time drawing. If one character has draw, then you can fight while you draw. Most RPGs have something of this nature. Also, leveling up in this game was not a grind. I played through without stopping everywhere. The nitpicking in this review could be said about most RPGs. What a terrible review.

  • I actually had FF8 on my PSP for a while, and I gotta say that I preferred the other Final Fantasies more. (Alright game, but leveling/upgrading your characters was a BITCH)

  • Thanks God Spoony has guts to stand against all these monstrous horde of FF fans!

  • i never played this game but im glad i saw this cause now it looks like a pain the ass and i would feel like a soulless abomination doing draws my whole hours. i mean before seeing this i thought the game maybe worth looking into since i played kingdom hearts and saw squall and thought he was a badass and cool. so first question was "which ff game was he on?" but thanks for giving me heads up on what would it be like. im gonna stick with ff 1-7, the good ol classics.

  • @cmsasuke17 youre a fucking idiot. play ff8. it is a classic you dip shit. I bet youre 12.

  • @brandnizzle7468

OOooh sorry that you got butthurt because i think differently than you.

  • @cmsasuke17 That's not why he got mad. He got mad because you judge a game without even playing it. That's just very unfair and stupid.

  • @kurvos Actually it is fair because my instinct about movies, food, games or whatever has always been right. I've seen what the game is capable but the most important part about a final fantasy game is the story... If the story isn't appealing and the characters don't interest me, then there's no point in playing the game. I wont deny that some of the gameplay and strategy may have improved to some extent, but a good final fantasy game to me is the story. But that's just me.

  • @cmsasuke17 You know... I would've chosed the exact same words like you just did for just about half a year ago. I always trust my instincts usually - especially when it comes to movies. But not with food as much... if I did, I would not get to eat snails - and they taste better than I could ever imagine. And half a year ago, I had it decided to never play FF8. And this was long after watching Spoony's videos. And yet, I own it now. And it's a fun and well-made game. Flaws? Sure. But still good.

  • @kurvos

Well, I stated would i believe is a good a Final Fantasy game FOR ME...FF8 and 10 maybe good games but everybodies different, not everybody will agree on the same thing, that's just how it is. Both games may have good gameplay and good music but the story just isn't for me. And the way I look at a good Final Fantasy game is the ones with amazing story and characters. 8 and 10 do not have that same feeling but like i said before peoples opinions and tastes are different.

  • @cmsasuke17 ... if you play a game for the story, then you're not a gamer. A game's most important feature is ALWAYS the gameplay. That's not about opinions - that's mandatory.

And you're still trying to avoid the fact that you're judging a game you haven't even played.

  • @kurvos Your right, I'm not a gamer. That's why I like RPG games mainly the stories but if it were to be a fighting game or whatever then story matters not. And I'll admit I am playing the game a little I think I'm at the end of disc 1 for FF 8 but so far it's just boring, and even if I wasn't playing the game, I know myself better than anyone because my instincts says "This game is not for you." but I'm gonna finish it anyways, so I can finally judge it for myself.

  • @cmsasuke17 Well, then you're further into FF8 then I've managed to get yet myself. XD It's nothing more than a matter of opinion if you like it or not. But don't think we who admires the game are blinded and hates everyone who doesn't agree, please.

  • @kurvos LOL riiiiigggghht. That was what I was trying to say in the first place haha. It's my opinion, this and that, there's been people who said FF1-7 were shit, Chrono Trigger was shit, Dragon Quest and hell even an epic like LOZ people say its shit. But that's there opinion and I respect that, I don't expect everybody to like the same thing so respect my decision and I respect yours. Just want to clear that out before I get any more hate mail about how low I am for not liking FF8 and 10 lol.

  • @cmsasuke17 It's not low. I'm totally cool with it. I especially even agree with you on FFX... mostly because I have the same point of view as Spoony about that game. XP

  • @kurvos lol yea, Spoony does over exaggerate the flaws of the game. But for something like FF10, I can agree with everything Spoony says about the game. Must've been Tidus, Wakka's ridiculous hair, I like to call him quail head for some reason.

  • @cmsasuke17 I sort of want to believe Wakka is an obscure abomination mixture of Tin-Tin, Rob Schneider and Brock from Pokémon. XD LOL

  • @cmsasuke17 this guys just trying to make it look like shit and is succeeding. please don't listen to him. ff8 is the greatest ff. yes it has its flaws just like EVERY game does. but it is such an amazing game. 7 is garbage after you play this.

  • @777tWill777 no lol it sucks balls. its bullshit to use so much time collecting magic just so i can buff up my stats and my stats will degrade if i use magic and i then have to collect more useing draw... which means after useing all that time collecting magic its bad to use it... what an epic game.. what about just useing an ether instead huh? dont listen to this fanboy and buy ff9. better looking world, better story, better gameplay and if your hardcore you wont use "steiner" cause hes damn OP

  • Never waste my time drawing much. I have Selphie as my draw mule and just draw twice per battle you get a lot of spells quickly then you carry on with the game. Draw points and then later synthing spells from items and you're all good once the game actually begins to get a little challenging. I junction system is the number 1 ultra un-questionably worst part of the game.

  • @TheRegenEngel X-2? Thats a horrible game made for blatant fan service!!

  • i dont even draw i just spend hours getting good cars and card refining wich is just as annoying

  • @mattylove420 cards*

  • 304 people are obviously FFVIII fanboys....

  • @TheRegenEngel : I'm an FF8 fangirl, but I completely agree with what he says. :P

  • @lou300 then you're a very mature FF8 fangirl...I'm a fangirl of FFX-2 and I also agree with Spoony about the game. X)

  • @lou300 I think it is perfectly possible to still love a game while at the same time accepting all of the flaws in the game as well. I personally think FFX is one of the worst FF games in the series, but at the same time I can't bring myself to hating it either.

  • @Cheezycola what is the point of playing the game?? I just don't understand it is all...

  • The thing is, you don't need to collect 100 fires or 100 of any spell so drawing excessively for two hours straight was not necessary. At least I didn't do it back when I played through it. Still can't deny that Spoony is hilarious and an absolute legend though.

  • And to think, I thought it was sad that my favorite game of the franchise was FFIV. I'm almost glad now that I haven't picked up any of the other games if this is what I would have to look forward to.

  • Your video is indeed entertaining.

  • Lol he said final fantasy 2 before he started to draw

  • I love Spoony ♥

  • for some odd reason after viewing this and the first video I actually have the urge to play final fantasy VIII

  • I FUCKING LOVED TRIPLE TRIAD. great game. good review too

  • XD

I'll bet anything they hired the same quality control team to evaluate ME2's mining sections.

  • Seems like FF is bbbbboooooorrrrrriiiinnnngggg...... T-T

  • @Crystal56287 No they all are epic games actually. Just avoid playing the 8. Well you can give it a try but i dont think you will be able to play past 1 hour....

  • you have a penis head haitcut... someone loves the 90s! and leonardo dicaprio... or sean hunter from boy meets world

  • holy shit TWO HOURS *ROFL he reminds me of Gideon from Scott pilgrim vs. the world. 2 hours!!!!!

  • This part sucks. At least learn other ways to get 100 magics of a certain useful spell. What kind of retard would draw 100 scan/fire from a monster.

  • Looking back, I honestly had a really pleasant experience with this game with little to no complaints. With regards to drawing magic, yeah it's tedious but I always used the draw system to supplement the other ways of getting magic. Drawing was used to get "new" magic/gfs, whereas I remember dismantling cards, items and even, if I remember correctly, breaking down other spells to get new spells. The '100' magic limit though, did annoy me when I'd lose the spell and my stat bonuses >.>

  • Comment removed

  • Hey, spoony, you only suffer if you openly go for magic. I only got about 20 of each spell and got 3 magic spells from every encounter.

  • @ruhere4mybangers

On Thatguywiththeglasses(dot)com and on his own website spoonyexperiment(dot)com

  • where is spoony these days?

  • @ruhere4mybangers He has his own website, The Spoony Experiment and is part of TGWTG

  • @kaihedgie but hes not active anymore and it sucks because his vids are the best

  • @ruhere4mybangers Correction: This channel is inactive, he still is however and has even gone and done reviews for both X and X-2

  • i fucking love this game. and this man is still hilarious xD

  • Personally I like the idea of junctioning magic to your stats to an extent, but they went overboard with the complexity of it, plus the whole drawing magic thing was kind of a bummer for me.

  • Do what I do: draw the enemies only for powerful spells and gf, and draw from manafonts.

  • the game audio is too loud unfortunatly, or i have wrong audio setup =(

i remembered being just fine though =o

  • I FUCKING HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE!!!!!!! THIS PART!

  • Don't bash the game, based on the gameplay. The gameplay is confusing, so confusing that I, a dedicated FF fan, have yet to complete the game. But don't bash the game itself, man! It has an amazing story, great characters, and a great world. It's just the new gameplay mechanics that threw us off. If you really want to hate an entire game, don't hate this, HATE FFX-2. HATE IT, I SAY!!!

  • @Animatic121 Oh, he does hate that one. He made a review for that one too. ^-^

  • @Animatic121 Lol... "Don't bash the GAME based on the GAMEplay".

  • @Animatic121 "Don't bash the game based on the gameplay" if that the case, then what's the point of video game. also what really makes game fun is the gameplay. if the gameplay fucked up, the game sucks.

  • @Sckarton Well, there's the storyline. Sure, the gameplay needs some serious work, but I still enjoy the game, simply because the story is amazing.

  • @Animatic121 if you think ff8 has a great story or great characters, then you need the watch the rest of his reviews, seriosuly , they just threw an emo in, with a hyperactive gay guy in the closet, a 17 year old SEED who acts like a little schoolgirl, and rebellion leader who calls people "meany". oh yh the cowboy kid and quistis was allright, but not cool or great.

  • @Mrmcroller I know who the characters are, and I really don't think they're as bad as people say they are. Sure, they're different than the normal FF characters, but that doesn't make them horrible.

  • @Animatic121 who likes a emo person? zell is annoying, selphie is annoying, the one wiht blue clothes ( cant remember name) is retarded, cowboy and quistis was ok.

  • This is where Spoony started going downhill.

Usually, he doesn't just piss & moan about games, he actually knows what he's talking about.

But here he's just faking anger, and whinging like a douche.

I mean, you don't even need to draw at the beginning of the game, the enemies are so weak anyway. Just wait and refine a little later.

Anyone who sits there and draws 100 spells is a complete retard.

Come on Spoony, you were/are better than this.

  • @AttackMyAss actually this was back when he sucken and he got better later on

  • @personsom1 No, this was the period where he joined TGWTG.com, and starting trying to be them and became shit, like other reviewers, by introducing stupid characters and faking anger like a retard.

  • @AttackMyAss

I agree. I do still quite like this review just because I've never played an FF game in my life (although I do own KH2) Although ironically FF8 is probably his most famous review, this is probably the one which made him such a controversial and well-known reviewer because all the FF fanboys hated him for it.

Although he DEFINITELY sucks now I think. Noah "Delete fucking everything" Antwiler with his ban-hammering. Most of TGWTG does suck now, actually.

  • @AttackMyAss this review makes me wanna kill him (which I wont but really feel like doing.)

  • is it lucky that when someone let me have there copy of they game, there missing disc 4?

  • ITS A FUCKING FANTASY GAME. STOP BEING SO TECHNICAL AND CRITICAL!!!! "how does magic link to attributes! i dont know!" IDIOT.

  • am i the only one falling asleep? -_-

  • My dad has Final Fantasy 7, 8 and 9 for the old PS1. I definitely know which one to avoid now.

I'm also considering trying 6 for the Super Nintendo/WiiWare and 12 and 13. I've played through 4 to the end, and I only got through a fifth of 10 before I stopped caring. And only a tenth of X-2 before I realized "I don't go for this demographic". Any recommendations on what to try and what to avoid? 13 is either greatest or worst with no inbetween, so I can at least try that and make my own opinion.

  • @VGAfanatic 7 and every game before it was pretty good, and 9 was pretty good. But everything after 7 that isn't FF9 is garbage.

  • @THEGREATMAX Gotcha.

I'll still draw characters from each game and wait for jokes and criticisms that I can level with, though.

  • @VGAfanatic I find FF5 too complicated. A bit like FF8.

  • Turn up the battle speed and you won't bitch about drawing.

  • @MRoane41 Yeah, that only helps so much. The point is that they shouldn't have this kind of busywork in the game.

  • @MRoane41 He's trying to do it in normal speed to show how stupid it is obviously, another fanboy?

  • When Spoony said "PAIN" at the beginning, my room's lights blinked. :D

  • such is the power of the SpoonyOne. I think thats what the scans are for- making someone's lights flicker creepily.

  • Spoony, I love you and final fantasy XIII :) I guess I have more patience then others...

  • @PandaWithGlasses wanna know someting? my cusin spend 10 hours to finish this game whit out draw any skills and magics and IT FINISH IT PERFECTLY! i done here...

  • I remember watching my brother complete this game. Even at ten I wondered why they had to Draw magic instead of getting it as experience after the battle. And I remember staring dumbly at the screen at the "she is an angel" segment near the end. Even as a child I thought that sucked.

  • this guy is so lol, ff8??? haha relax bro this isn't hard or tedious. take some ritalin

  • it took me like 4 or 5 tries until I finally started playing the game. And that is the biggest mistake of my life. NEVER GONNA PLAY THIS PIECE OF SHIT GAME AGAIN (urrrrgh just thinking about DRAWING MAGIC in the beginning makes me wanna bang my head on the wall)

  • I never got too far past the beginning of FF8, and I've tried playing it MULTIPLE TIMES. I actually liked the card game better than the ACTUAL GAME, and once I got bored of THAT, I got bored of the game itself and quit playing again! And THANK YOU for pointing out in the first part of the review that the game STARTS OFF at your school, sitting in a hospital bed, taking tests and playing cards! That's how FF8 starts! FF7 starts off with a group of rebels jumping off a train and blowing shit up!

  • Gunblade ahhha ha ha ha ha

  • All bullshit aside, its a crying shame that so much production value went into the making of this game and the end product is so dull and insipid. I mean, I remember playing this and 15 hours into the game I was "OK,when is the game going to kick in ?". And the Japanese Dawson's Creek theme it was running on was just painful to watch.
