I play the same. I love the paradiddle. But try to play the 2 + and the 4 on the bassdrum and you get a better Latin feel. Add the clave an the HiHat and you got it...
You could use this in a lot of different latin rhythms depending on how you phrase it. If you wanted to play it exactly like I've shown I would say a salsa song, but the drum set isn't used in a lot of salsa so thats up to you. I hope you enjoyed the video and it inspired you to try something new since that was my main point. I'm planning on putting up more videos soon, so if you have some ideas please let me know. Thanks, I customized the TD-20's sounds on this kit just for YouTube, so I'm glad it turned out alright. Sounds kinda 80's... but that's in again so I lucked out.
