@masterfaya100 The game is set 1080, the Moorish "empire" was at its strongest (owning most of france) around the 9th-10th century. So try to learn what you are bullshtting about.
@expertstrategy you say: "Arthur Wellesley was not called the "Iron Duke" for his military reputation, the reason why he was nicknamed that, was when he placed iron plating on his window to protect him"
Possibly the most hilarious bit of political spin I've heared in a great many years! Is that what they teach you in French schools? Truly, I have no idea where you got that, but its priceless!
Go read up on Wellington, if anything, he was known for being too relaxed over his personal security...
i played hard on campange and very hard for battle as moors and when it got to about 27 turns, every one attacked me??and i used every militia i could and defeated portugal and spain and invaded up to half of europe in just urn 53!
@WolfytheWolf5667 That's funny. Because I am pretty sure that America saved your sorry asses in TWO world wars. And back in the 18th century a bunch of peasants( Americans) beat your whole Army. After about 20 seconds of deep thought I've come to the conclusion that America dominates everybody, not England. You haven't fought many impressive opponents and when you do you need to call in the real men to help you(Americans). Get your head out of your ass.
@SIzemore3434 Have you ever heard of the Battle of Britain during World War 2? How Nazi Germany tried over and over to take the British Isles, but couldn't due to British strength and resolve? How about the Battle of Trafalgar where 27 British ships destroyed 22 of the 33 Napoleonic fleets, while losing not even losing one? Maybe the Battle of Agincourt, where English forces crushed the French army, outnumbered 5 to 1? Next time you want to reference history for a point, actually learn a bit.
@screcklich Imtalking about how England is no longer unbeatable. Who was supplying your fighters at the battle of Britain with the ammunition they needed? Americans. America is unbeatable. Yay
@SIzemore3434 Ok, first, I am an American. Secondly, NO ONE is unbeatable. Ever heard of the Korean War? Maybe the Vietnam Conflict? America is not unbeatable and it is that very logic that allowed England to be defeated by, as you called them, "...a bunch of peasants..." (which, by the way, they were not). So go ahead and think we're indestructible. Me on the other hand, I'll keep being prepared. Oh, and once again, open a history book before you run your mouth.
@screcklich I know much more about history than you do. I will stand up for my country whenever I get the chance. Doesn't matter if Im right or wrong i will. Fuck off. Of course America isn't unbeatable. I said that because someone said England is unbeatable. America is by far the most powerful nation in the world. Open a history book.
@SIzemore3434 That's a pretty bold statement, considering there's no way in hell you can prove that. Also, you kept saying America is unbeatable....so what exactly is one supposed to believe...you know, when you keep saying it OVER AND OVER? America may be the most powerful nation on the planet, most definitely so, but it hasn't been that way. As for opening a history book, I have many. Which one?
@WolfytheWolf5667, not to mention that the English were defeated by a woman in the later stages of the hundred years war, and were completely terrified of her, they didn't even put up a good fight and ran away because of their typical superstitions of witchcraft. You English were terrified of Napoleon who could own your butts on the battlefields.
@expertstrategy Firstly: It took the french 100 years to drive us out of their country, and when they finally did - it was by a woman? That doesn't say great things about french men to be honest. Secondly, it was bankruptcy that defeated England in the hundred years war; the country was destitute!
Also, Napoleon... yes, we were afraid of him, and rightly so. He was a great leader of men. (continued in next comment)
@Mazthoril, in the Hundred Years war, what is wrong with a woman leading an army? Not only did she defeat the English, she also hurt their pride. The English even made up a laughable excuse that they were defeated by "sorcery" and refused to achknowledge that they were defeated by military brilliance. In Waterloo, the Old Guard were fighting the Prussians at Plancenoit, the Britsh foot guards retreated by the seond wave of the Middle Guard, and Dutch artillary held them off the French.
@expertstrategy (continued..) Don't forget, however, that when Arthur Wellesley, "The Iron Duke" finally met Napoleon in battle (after having defeated the French repeatedly in Portugal), the Englishman walked away victorious. ALSO, Napoleon's "Old Guards" (his most feared and revered troops) broke and fled the battle in less than a minute when they met a standard English Line Guards regiment... Not very impressive, to be honest. (last part in next comment)
@Mazthoril, plus Arthur Wellesley, who hated his heritage Irish heritage, with this famous quote "Being Born in a stable does not make one a horse" Unlike Napoleon who didn't have a problem with his Corsican birth. Arthur was not called the "Iron Duke" for his military reputation, the reason why he was nicknamed that, was when he placed iron plating on his window to protect him from. Plus Richard the Lionheart was a Frenchman, and
@expertstrategy (lastly...) "Great French international war figures": Napoleon Bonaparte, Joan of Arc... any more..?
"Great English international war figures": Richard the Lionheart (Crusades), Arthur Wellesley (Waterloo), Horatio Nelson (Trafalgar), James Wolfe (Quebec), Henry the Fifth (Agincourt), Winston Churchill (Need I even say?)... The list goes on...
We're not unbeatable, of course not. But from our small island emerged the largest empire the world has ever seen.
@Mazthoril, Marshal Davout (Undefeated Marshal) Napoleonic wars, Marshal Saxe (Undefeated too) Austrian war of succession. Marshal VIllars (Spanish war of succession) The second wave of the Imperial middle guard made the British Foot Guards retreat, and the Old Guard was fighting the Prussians in Plancenoit. And when you said that bankruptcy defeated the English in the Hundred Years War is an interesting story. The war ended in a bloodbath, despite financial problems.
@expertstrategy you say: "Arthur Wellesley was not called the "Iron Duke" for his military reputation, the reason why he was nicknamed that, was when he placed iron plating on his window to protect him"

Go read up on Wellington, if anything, he was known for being too relaxed over his personal security...
@Mazthoril, England/Britain is the only country who has a long list of historical warriors.
Godfrey (First Crusade, won every time) Philip II (Bouvines) Marshal Saxe (Undefeated, battle of Formigny), Admiral Tourville (Beachy Head) Joesph Montcalm (Fort Carillon, and Fort William Henry) Rochambeau (Yorktown) Charles De Gaulle, Marshal Davout (Undefeated) Marshal Murat (Greatest Cavalry Commander of all time) Antoine Lassal (Greatest light cavalry commander of all time) want me to continue?
@expertstrategy Richard the Lionheart, French? Are you joking, or just ignorant? Ha, I like that you put down "Charles De Gaulle" as a great French military figure: The man who organised the French surrender in the 2nd world war! I guess it figures... Stick to what you do best, right?
"Marshal Murat (Greatest Cavalry Commander of all time) Antoine Lassal (Greatest light cavalry commander of all time)"..
...in your opinion. Personally I'd say Genghis Khan is the greatest known cavalry commander.
@Mazthoril@Mazthoril, In the Hundred Years War, it only took 23 years for the French to recapture all of their lands. Bankruptcy in England is no excuse for English military defeats at Orleans, Patay, Formigny, and Castillon. it took 80 years for the English to conquer only 1/3 of France with Burgudian help. It is not like a lack of payment made the English force less effective on the battle, which is pretty absurd, and not worth the excuse to cover defeats.
@expertstrategy You sure repeated yourself a fair bit there :-/ Okay well, read-up on Waterloo because you're completely wrong about the Old Guards fighting the prussians, Napoleon kept them in special reserve as his "trump card" - and sent them to attack the center of the British line while his light infantry were making a diversionary attack on a farm building held by the King's German Legion. He didn't know the British Foot Guards were in the center because he couldn't see them.
@Mazthoril, I know exactly what I am talking about. What you are spitting out is just propaganda. The Old Guard were at Plancenoit and drove the Prussian over half a mile, and the British Guards were fighting just the MIddle Guard. La Hay Sainte fell before the Imperial Guard was commenced. Where are you getting your information?
@expertstrategy As a result, his Old Guards recieved two volleys of British musket fire, halted, wavered, then broke. It's written in all the accounts! The Imperial middle guard forced the British Guards to move back a few yards, over the ridge, but they didn't break. They formed squares and withstood repeated french cavalry charges - despite most of them having run out of ammunition - they still held for almost 2 hours untill the Prussians arrived.
@expertstrategy Dutch artillery?... the Dutch were not at Waterloo. Additionally, again I suggest you read-up on the battle. Artillery was almost useless at Waterloo because the ground was water-logged and cannon got bogged down. This also meant that the usual "skipping" strategy used by artillery did not work either - so even if there had been Dutch artillery present, they'd not have made much difference anyway!
@Mazthoril, what do you mean that there were no Dutch in Waterloo. They participated in the battle, and the only thing you are swallowed up by are the famous myths of Waterloo, written up by the winners of the Napoleonic Wars, just to make themselves look grand, even though it is exaggerating. The British only fought against the 3rd and 4th Regiments of Grenadiers and Chasseurs of the Imperial Guard, forming into the 'Middle Guard' never the Old Guard for they were fighting at plancenoit.
@expertstrategy you're very determined of the illusion that the old guards werent there, but its one of the most famous moments in that war, let alone the battle. What makes you believe your source is any more accurate than mine? Yes the vikings were a small minority but not ALL Norwegians are vikings... Nowadays normandy is just as French as any other region of France but not back then.
The book is dated "clash of arms 1807-1815" - Napoleon's and Wellesley's armies only met once....
@Mazthoril, Well I can assure you that the information I have read from that book is what I have written in my comment. Pure and simple to understand.
@expertstrategy I quote from you: "It is not like a lack of payment made the English force less effective on the battle"
Clearly the words of someone with no understanding of logistics. Of course pay didn't make any difference!
- Food, Equipment, Medicines, New recruits, and Transportation all require money. The country was destitute, and had no money. Therefore the armies had no food, equipment, medicines, new recruits, or proper transportation. Doesn't take a genius to work it out!
@expertstrategy In the end, we could argue on and on about this and it would make no difference. Ultimately the fact is: There was a time when England controled more of France than the French did! France has never owned or ocupied ANY of England. (And before you say it, the Normans were not French, they were originally Norwegian - hence the name Normandy).
@Mazthoril, Actually the Normans were practically French ethnically, and the Vikings were only a small minority. Plus I've read from a book called "Napoleon and Wellington, clash of arms 1807-1815" that Wellington was sheilded his windows from protesters who were throwing rocks at him. Plus I am not French.
@expertstrategy Richard the Lionheart, French? Are you joking, or just ignorant? Ha, I like that you put down "Charles De Gaulle" as a great French military figure: The man who organised the French surrender in the 2nd world war! I guess it figures... Stick to what you do best, right?

do you guys think that the alien ware aurora could handle Rome and medieval with no problem???im looking into to getting a alienware and im just wondering???
HEY CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHERE CAN I DOWNLOAD TO GET THE KINGDOMS? I have Medieval 2 Total War, but I want to get the Kingdoms version! Please someone answer me!
Wait, a lot of videos have really good graphics, and some have really bad, does it depend on the users graphics card, or is Medieval 2 Total War different from Medieval 2? Which should i buy?
lol its the same game. It just depends on your settings. And you should buy medieval 2 total war gold edition as it comes with the kingdoms expansion pack :)
medieval 2 is just short for medieval 2 total war(by the name not the game) and the graphics depends on how strong ur comp is,but even if the lowest graphics in med2 r the only ones u can play, its still too awesome, and its not waaay different from high graphics but there is difference ;d
ckan sum one help me plzzz... i installed MTW 2.. and i can play itz campaign mode nd all but i cant play the war part it will load forever nd dnt work so ckan su mone tell me why... i ckan play it just ckant control the battelfield
moors r my favorite muslim faction. they are in the best position to invade europe, which is where settlements r most concentrated, since defeating spain and Portugal is pretty easy when done early. and moors r farther away from the east than Egypt or Turks so the mongols and timurids are not too much of a threat.

and the whole tours thing would be true if the French where defending, and if it was in France, not some random desert.... but i get your point. and yes the French saved western civilization, for once they did something without waving a white flag.
Yea, never-the-less, a really HUGE turning point in history.
Perhaps the French inspired the Spaniards to nationalism and started the Reconquista? I apologize in advance because I don't have any solid facts to prove that!
je sais pas pourquoi on nous appele des maures mais s'etait L'empire almohade qui etait un empire marocain,on a nique l'espagne mais maiteant on a perdu bocoup de terre a cause de la france..
i said i dont know why they call us moors we were called the almohade empire that was moroccan we defeated spain but lost against a crusade vs spain france etc
Asome game. I have first M:TW, but this one has better graphic and pleasure of gaming must be bigger. I also have Rome: TW, but for me medieval times are far more interesting. Thanks for sharring.
can anyone help me because when i play medieval 2 total war campaign and get more advanced troops like feudal knights then i can't get money i loose my all money like this i have first 20000 florins and then suddenly i have -20000 florins
you have to pay all those troops and they demand high maintaining costs so raise taxes, get more cities, deploy merchants, build mines/markets/ports, SACK enemy cities and castles instead of occupying etc...
depends on your system: if you are lagging, then it's better to have it off; if you have a powerful system, it's better to have it on because it makes the visuals a lot less jaggy.

he have pc ''a piece of shit'' filming or not its set on maximum settings to show everybody how cool u are?? :D crap buy a new video card! i can film empire total war with fraps when maxed out and there is no lag!!!
HA! I thought the French would be fighting with cavalry (since they have the best cavalry in the west), and I'm pretty sure the Moors were famous for their infantry...

Nowadays normandy is just as French as any other region of France but not back then.
The book is dated "clash of arms 1807-1815" - Napoleon's and Wellesley's armies only met once....
Mazthoril 1 year ago
@Mazthoril, Well I can assure you that the information I have read from that book is what I have written in my comment. Pure and simple to understand.
expertstrategy 1 year ago
@expertstrategy I quote from you: "It is not like a lack of payment made the English force less effective on the battle"
Clearly the words of someone with no understanding of logistics. Of course pay didn't make any difference!
- Food, Equipment, Medicines, New recruits, and Transportation all require money. The country was destitute, and had no money. Therefore the armies had no food, equipment, medicines, new recruits, or proper transportation. Doesn't take a genius to work it out!
Mazthoril 1 year ago
@expertstrategy In the end, we could argue on and on about this and it would make no difference. Ultimately the fact is: There was a time when England controled more of France than the French did! France has never owned or ocupied ANY of England. (And before you say it, the Normans were not French, they were originally Norwegian - hence the name Normandy).
Mazthoril 1 year ago

"Marshal Murat (Greatest Cavalry Commander of all time) Antoine Lassal (Greatest light cavalry commander of all time)"..
...in your opinion. Personally I'd say Genghis Khan is the greatest known cavalry commander.

Go read up on Wellington, if anything, he was known for being too relaxed over his personal security..

Wait, a lot of videos have really good graphics, and some have really bad, does it depend on the users graphics card, or is Medieval 2 Total War different from Medieval 2? Which should i buy?
FoulStenchOfDeath 2 years ago
lol its the same game. It just depends on your settings. And you should buy medieval 2 total war gold edition as it comes with the kingdoms expansion pack :)
Eregost2 2 years ago
Oh, okay, I'm lookin up prices right now, lol thanks man
FoulStenchOfDeath 2 years ago
It's the same thing, you can adjust the quality of the graphics corresponding to your hardware.

Is it an In-Game thing, like in a menu, or is it like a more complex change?
FoulStenchOfDeath 2 years ago
yeah it's an in-game menu

medieval 2 is just short for medieval 2 total war(by the name not the game) and the graphics depends on how strong ur comp is,but even if the lowest graphics in med2 r the only ones u can play, its still too awesome, and its not waaay different from high graphics but there is difference ;d
GothN00b 2 years ago
Yea, it sounds mega cool, so i think ill buy it. and the graphics are good enough on low detail, that i wouldn't care that much i guess...

i hate medieval 2 sieges
the enemy archers keep setting my rams and seige towers on fire.
and when i have ladders, my guys take so many casulties. By the time they get to the wall, theres like only 16 out of the 80 troops in the unit.

moors r my favorite muslim faction. they are in the best position to invade europe, which is where settlements r most concentrated, since defeating spain and Portugal is pretty easy when done early. and moors r farther away from the east than Egypt or Turks so the mongols and timurids are not too much of a threat.
videosearcherwhenbor 2 years ago
just some advice. always recruite spearmen to your settlments if u see a Mongol army, never fight on open grouiwn with the Mongols! NEVER!

This is almost like a "Battle of Tours" type of conflict.
Surprisingly, back in that year, the French were the ones that stopped the Moorish invasion of Europe.

and the whole tours thing would be true if the French where defending, and if it was in France, not some random desert.... but i get your point. and yes the French saved western civilization, for once they did something without waving a white flag.
i13m 2 years ago
Yea, never-the-less, a really HUGE turning point in history.
Perhaps the French inspired the Spaniards to nationalism and started the Reconquista? I apologize in advance because I don't have any solid facts to prove that!

Right, "Moors" is just a European term, I'm sure.
But man, it took Spain nearly a millenium before the Moors surrendered at Granada in 1492...I bet they were like, "Shhhhhit,,,,"

Build more cities, and try capturing more settlements as well.
Otlidas 2 years ago
you have to pay all those troops and they demand high maintaining costs so raise taxes, get more cities, deploy merchants, build mines/markets/ports, SACK enemy cities and castles instead of occupying etc...
