· The Republican National Committee's health insurance plan covers elective abortion - a procedure the party's own platform calls "a fundamental assault on innocent human life."
Federal Election Commission Records show the RNC purchases its insurance from Cigna. Two sales agents for the company said that the RNC's policy covers elective abortion.
So tell me again - how is it acceptable for a political party to lobby against a policy they themselves employ?
Vote consistently with the values of the bible? mass murder, slavery, misogyny, not eating shellfish, or wearing clothes from 2 kinds of cloth etc etc. Show me someone who is consistent with all the values of the bible not just the ones that line up with their own prejudices and then talk.
Martin Luther King, Jr. wrote in his autobiography:
"The Republican Party geared its appeal and program to racism, reaction, and extremism."
That was his description of the 1964 Republican National Convention. He also referred to the Republican convention as "the frenzied wedding at the Cow Palace of the KKK with the radical right."
Damn I hate this homophobic piece of shit, she believes in equality based on skin color but not sexual orientation, yea bitch separate but equal- it worked so well before why not do it again to the gay community?
The TRUE commercial showing you that it is not about voting right or left paradigm but is about voting only on values that God has instilled in us all... The values in which the Tea Party, and Republicans/Conservatives are very familiar with already as they have been at the forefront of 'civil rights' long before any other party. They are the most experienced Party affiliated to the Creator Father...
@2222554 How can you claim it has nothing to do with right or left then the next minute tell me its all right wing tea party and conservative values? And what makes you think the repubs are closer to God than the dems?
@vechorik Despicable lies. She is desecrating and insulting King's legacy for the sake of greed and bigotry. This thread PROVES the right knows NOTHING about what Martin Luther King stood for. Alveda is entitled to her sick opinions, but the LIE that they were shared by Martin is a disgrace.
@PrisonerNumber9653, can you point me to anything that shows MLK would approve of abortion? The NAACP refused to speak out against abortion to keep their stance with the Democratic party. Dr. Alveda King has the courage to speak against abortion. I admire her strength and dedication to a just cause.
@vechorik Approve of abortion isn't the point, it's a decision for a woman to approve or disapprove of HERSELF. King supported the FREEDOM, and the HUMAN RIGHTS of women, and I have ZERO doubt he'd have supported the equality of women to make their own decision. The NAACP doesn't speak out against abortion because being anti-choice is bad for blacks, and they support equality. Alveda's anti-choice radicalism and lies are NOT courageous, are NOT just.
@PrisonerNumber9653, Since you can't find anything MLK said to support your belief, I'll continue to believe you're wrong. The NAACP does not support the right to live by the least of those among us. If you don't value the life of a person in the womb, how on earth can you value the life of everyone? It's not a choice of freedom. It's a choice to kill a living human being. The unborn are victims of slavery of the "freedom to choose." How about freedom and equal rights for them?
@vechorik The despicable LIE that the NAACP does not "support the right to live" is the typical radical right hysteria. The NAACP is for EQUALITY, including the equality of women to control their own reproductive decisions. It IS a choice of freedom, and comparing a fetus to human beings whose rights you want to destroy is simply wrong. "Equal rights" for embryos, while DENYING equal rights to women is an abomination of justice.
"The Negro problem is one of the most complicated and important confronting America ... Whatever the ultimate answer may be, such an attitude brings to light the function of birth control as a necessary agency in its solution. The present submerged condition of the Negro is due in large part to the high fertility of the race under disastrously adverse circumstances... Thus the question arises to what extent birth control has had a eugenic effect upon the Negro race ..."
@PrisonerNumber9653, Margaret Sanger, who spawned the International Planned Parenthood Federation quotes: "Birth control must lead ultimately to a cleaner race." - "We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We don't want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population"
@vechorik While there's little doubt Sanger, ONE PERSON, held controversial ideals (some of the quotes attributed to her are fakes) it's well known that she was admired by Martin Luther King and did NOT view blacks, or anyone else, as inferior.
None of this changes the FACT that reproductive choice IS a human right, neccessary for equality for women, and it would be especially destructive for African-American communities to rob women of this civil right.
@PrisonerNumber9653 You are blind. I see you used the lamest bullshit excuse ever to "justify" why MLK was republican, saying the two parties were completely different 50 years ago as if they traded places. No. Guess again.
Not blind, nor are the FACTS about King's party registration "bullshit". The parties WERE entirely different 50 years ago. This was before the radical right took over the GOP, and a time when the Democrats in the south did still have substantial race problems.
If you don't think they've changed, you're just badly informed, but--name a SINGLE Republican office holder in this day and age who supports reparations for slavery, and aggressive affirmative action. King was not a conservative
there's nothing "courageous" about this desecration of Dr. King's message. Yes, the white racists of the south were Dems-FIFTY YEARS AGO. That is the reason King was Repub. There is NOTHING King supported in today's GOP.
@PrisonerNumber9653 Wow man, you do not know what you are talking about. America sliding into socialism, becoming a 'nanny state'---it's just another form of SLAVERY and Dr. King would have never ever condoned such crap. Self reliance, hard work, honesty, the content of your character: Republican principles. They were his principles.
@Boris82much Truly sick, racist BULLSHIT. We are nowhere CLOSE to "socialism" or "nanny state" and calling that "slavery" is an insanely insulting slap in the FACE to every black person and everyone who knew REAL racism.
King DID condone helping the poor, the right's LIES that they just "didn't work hard enough" were BLASTED by Dr. King. You are LYING about his principles. He supported economic justice, SIGNIFICANT increases in spending to help the poor, AGGRESSIVE affirmative action.
@StuartTV When I lived in Georgia and Montgomery Alabama in the 60's the whites who feared equal rights for all and hated African Americans WERE DEMOCRATS. It was President Lincoln who started the Republican Party to, in part, STOP SLAVERY. Dr. Alveda King is courageous.
@Boris82much So what if lincoln try to stop slavery. He didnt do anything about about racism. Racism and slavery are 2 different tthings. In fact comments like yours shows how racist this country still is. Blacks have been oppressed so long people act like when you free slaves your freeing black people. As if slavery is simply a black thing. Well if i freed slaves in China today i wouldnt be freeing blacks I would be freeing women. and whites were slaves in history too.
@Boris82much If lincoln would have done something about racism then the slavery of blacks would of naturally ended on its own. Becuz racism was the cause of why people thought blacks should be enslaved. Slavery was just a sympton of that belief. Even though slavery legally ended in the 1860's and blacks were no longer slaves they still were raped and lynched and couldnt vote like every other citizen.
@rashadkijani He fuckin' got the ball rolling right before he was assassinated. Where did you learn American history? Cuba?
Doesn't the making of a new party and running for office BECAUSE slavery was not being stopped and outlawed...and 4 years of a bloody civil war...don't you think he was 'doing something about racism'????? READ THE SPEECH HE GAVE IN GETTYSBURG, PA: THE GETTYSBURG ADDRESS.
And racism comes in a rainbow of colors, unfortunately. But the law makes us equal.
@Boris82much More hogwash. Lincoln did SQUAT to address racism, and ONLY ended slavery when he had to. Lincoln didn't free the slaves, Sojourner Truth and John Brown freed the slaves.
The racist LIE of "racism comes in a rainbow of colors" this TRASH that black people fighting for justice and angry about the MASSIVE injustice in our nation are "racist" is shameful trash.
The law is SUPPOSED to make us equal, but it is FAILING miserably. Our "justice " system is horribly racist.
@Boris82much Slavery and racism are 2 differentthings the fact that so many people think being against slavery automatically means you care about blcks shows either how stupid people are or how racist this country still is. Every group has been enslaved at some point in human history and some still are. Lincoln and alot of northern soldiers were just as racist as the southerners they didnt even want to fight next to blacks and didnt like the idea of blacks with guns any more than the south.
@Boris82much If you knew some 1 who hated you enough to want to kill you the just taking a gun from their hand isnt going to stop them. They would just find a knife or something. The only way to stop them is to jail them, kill them or try to culturally change their point of view of you so they no longer want to see you dead. thats why most of blacks dont like republicans black or white becuz they alway try to down play the importance or existence of racism. They dont admit to the real problem.
MLK would be embarrassed by this woman, blacks in this country have been so brainwashed it is really a shame. The chains of religion seem to be tighter than the chains of slavery; some would say they are one in the same.
Just because you were born alright, does not guarantee you a long life. All of us can die at any moment. You can do everything you possibly can to be healthy, but you cannot control when you are going to die, so to say that you choose to kill a life because it is going to die anyway, then what prevents all of us from taking the lives of others in any regard? There are moral absolutes. Life is sacred. You are not God.
How are you going to come on here and say that Mr. Kings niece doesn't know what she is talking about? Are you a moron? or just plain racist to the core that all you see is color? Yes, Mr. King was fighting for the rights that he saw in his community (the black community), but he ultimately believed in equality for ALL. He wanted for there not to be racism from any color or class. Unfortunately, Obama and his followers have produced both.
Why are these idiots making a mockery of MLK...his niece is so opportunistic and she knows nothing about her own uncle. Why no mention of what he actually spoke out against and fought for instead of where he would stand on wedge issues that were not around during his time.
Many black ministers viewed MLK as radical. If MLK was around today, Harry Jackson would not be trying to claim him.
I'm voting for Obama because he represents true christian values which is to love all of Gods children. We are taking the white house and you satanic worshipers will have to go to the farm in texas with your leader george bush
Look, we don't think of abortion as okay. People who have had abortions think about it and never quite get over it. And what if the baby has a disease where it would die after one year and be miserable it's whole life anyway? It'd be for the baby's own good in that case.
"people who have had abortions think about it and never quite get over it" If it weighs so heavily on their minds then why do some of them have multiple abortions? Or better yet why did they not use birth control to prevent the pregnancy before it happend. I believe in a womans right to choose. I simply believe that the choice is made 9 months before the baby is born.
liberalman35. Who are you to say it's for the good of the child to kill them just because they are going to die? You are not God to decide such a fate. You might have the best years of your life with the little time you have with that child, than if you never had him/her. Next thing you'll say that a baby with Down's Syndrome should be put down because it doesnt have much of a life to look foward to. But you don't know that! No one knows what can come out of those kinds of lives.
well why does obama support planned parenthood which was started to control the black population. now fess up you support obama because you think he is black.
LiberalAche. Bush enacted Born Alive act 2 force medical care 4 living babies instead of into a trash can, strangled, snapped etc. Obama voted 4 times against saving babies "I will not stand by & Planned Parenthood will not stand by" & allow this act 2 pass. "Exterminate the negro population" Margartet Sanger Planned Parenthood. Hitler liked her a lot True. 11 mill black babies killed since 1973. Biggest abortchain makes $70 mill a yr. Owner says "I've aborted a mill. I see it as a passion".
I wonder what kind of church you go to liberalAchi, but if it's any indication by your name, then I pray I never find it. You have no concept of what christian values are. So don't come on deceiving people into thinking that all Christian's are corrupt and uneducated as you. Yes, Bush was bad, but Obama is 5 times worse than Bush ever was! Just wait and see.
Hey birdsfan, where in the world did you get a political stance on my comments. There is not a SINGLE reference to political parties in my comments.
It amazes me how people go on these political tangents that have nothing to do with the original point made.
Reading and comprehension is a good thing. There is no connection to my comments about anything to do with supporting one political party over another. Try sticking to the topic otherwise take you are a rambling idiot.
Military Service or no, is NOT a presidential qualifications criteria requirement.
POW time or no, is NOT a presidential qualifications criteria requirement.
Neither Congressional nor Senatorial time or no, is NOT a presidential
qualifications criteria requirement.
To my knowledge, there are no constitutional laws written that argue that a presidential candidate must meet the aforsaid rebuttals to Schwarzenegger's weak assumption.
MrRooterAnal. Gee BUT being half blacks a qualification. Obamas as narcissistic phony rich dull stiff & ordinary as John Edwards. He just ain't white but a far more fashionable brown & Marxist/Socialist red. Obama sounds like a cross btwn Principal Skinner & Brad from Rocky Horror Picture Show. 144 days experience ya couldn't manage a McDonalds a hospital a jet or a baseball team. But Prez is ok 4 Obama. Obama & his venal wife suck more radical doctrinaire shit than any Pres in history.
Mr RottenGuy "Your comments R worthless & braindead" Excellent ad hominem Logical Fallacy! So worthless U can't counter on a SINGLE point with any er, evidence. Cos they're ALL TRUE, bub. Bravo! Pure Leftard Liberal Gold! 5 stars. I don't make out Obama facts 2 B anything but on the record facts. Obamas worse than anyone can make up. Few knew him 3 yrs ago. G wonder Y? Thats Y Its all bad. Marxist SocialistLeftardRadicalIslamist pal tax payer funded scams & kickbacks is the Barry Sotuero way.
MrRottenCrapple Actually Obama leaves me with no "feelings" whatsoever Its the hordes of LeftardLiberalBoobs & other derivatives who feel sooo much. I feel nothing. I observe the facts of BO. I observe your fraud that U dig BO. I dig Steve McQueen Bruce Lee Marvin Gaye & Hendrix etc. Thus I am CURIOUS 2 KNOW EVERYTHING about em & do. BOs neo-fascist mass R determined 2 know as little as possible beyond a product image words. If I asked 'em a detail about his past/Mother etc, I'd draw a blank
Obamas numbers, in fact, are in line with past presidential candidates around the same time periods in the 2000 and 2004 races. Its McCains coverage that has been extraordinarily negative in tone.
For Sarah Palin, the study found coverage has been more negative than positive, with 29 percent positive, 39 percent negative, and 33 percent neutral.
The study, by The Pew Research Center's Project for Excellence in Journalism, a non-partisan journalism watchdog organization, examined 2,412 stories from 43 newspapers and cable news shows in the six-week period beginning just after the conventions and ending with the final presidential debate.
For Obama, the study found coverage has been more positive than negative," with 36 percent of the stories positive in tone, 35 percent mixed, and 29 percent negative.
In the national media, just 14 percent of the stories about John McCain from the conventions through the final presidential debate were positive in tone, according to a study released Oct. 22, while nearly 60 percent were negative—the least favorable coverage of any of the 4 candidates on the ticket.
David Freddoso: "Barack Obama is a smooth-talker who has made a career by accommodating himself to corrupt political systems, but at least his supporters have excuses for the false hopes they place in him. They have their discontent with the current situation, their own naivete, the heightened emotions he inspires, and the complete failure of the news media to tell Obamas story as it really is."
Obama's church gave an award to Louis Farrakhan in December for lifetime achievement.
Like Wright, Farrakhan has repeatedly made hate-filled statements targeting Jews (calling Judaism a gutter religion), whites, and America. He has called whites blue-eyed devils and the anti-Christ. He has described Jews as bloodsuckers
Dr. Charles Krauthammer: "should you bring up Barack Obama's real associations -- 20 years with Jeremiah Wright, working on two foundations and distributing money with William Ayers, citing the raving Michael Pfleger as one who helps him keep his moral compass (Chicago Sun-Times, April 2004) and the long-standing relationship with the left-wing vote-fraud specialist ACORN -- you have crossed the line into illegitimate guilt by association. Moreover, it is tinged with racism."
sruwags, look at the polls he isn't even were he should be because of his comment to Joe the Plumber, spread the wealth around... Please this guy is the worst choice next to Kerry and Gore can the Democrats please pick a Candidate that doesn't lie like Bill Clinton, Oh I'm sorry he did he even perjured himself but yet he isn't in jail.. Democrats are losing, that is why homeless people can vote by listing there Bench number the Judge who ordered it was sworn in by Bill Clinton. FRAUD&DESPERATE
Liberalman35, bullshit Rev Wright was always racist and Obama is past racism he hates Americans. Obama would fail in becoming an FBI agent because he wouldn't even pass the back round check because of his associations, but yet he can run for President. Bull shit black racism buys his votes and his socialism views what would make us more like Europe, please that is why Europeans come here for opportunity they hate government in there lives ans so will we wait and see
badfan3, what the hell are you talking about racist media and Democrats tried to destroy this man on everything they could pull out, MLK was a republican... Republicans ended segregation not the Democrats. Sen. Byrd had him assassinated because they were afraid of MLK, they wanted to suppress the middle class and the black community, and they still do. Republicans believe in freedom while the Democrats believe in Socialism tell me socialism works and I will tell you no lies.
Judging MLK Jr. on his character alone, he was a bum, regardless of his accomplishments. And I do not buy into the flimsy, unilateral excuse that all leaders cheat. Not all do, and for those that do, its still wrong to hurt someone's trust and loyalty.
That is what MLK Jr, stood for, and people bought into, believing we can treat all with respect and honor.
In the end, actions speak LOUDER than words. It is hypocritical to name a holiday after this man.
MLK Jr was an adulterer and a womanizer. I do not regard this man in high esteem regardless of his speeches. A person who lives their life with integrity is worthy of respect. History books want to delete this part, but all children should be privy to the real MLK Jr. and how he lived his life outside of those speeches. Same goes for JFK. He was in bed with the mafia and everyone knew it, yet people loved him. I wont be a puppet like the masses just because society deems them icons!
This group actually thinks people are voting on race? Please. The only race issue is that white people don't want to vote Obama ONLY because hes black. But people are voting for Obama because of the failed conservative policies of the last 8 years.
you will know B.H. Obama by knowing BILL AYERS, JEREMIAH WRIGHT, FARAKKHAN, TONY REZKO, and all radical marxists.
"Tell me your friends and I will tell you who you are." - Dr. Jose P. Rizal (He was a Filipino polymath, nationalist and the most prominent advocate for reforms in the Philippines during the Spanish colonial era. A Genius National Hero.)
Obama has not taken the high road. The only way to beat Republicans is to outfox them at their own game. The Clintons - who I actually like - were masters at spin and getting other people to do their dirty work while they look clean. Axelrod is a grand master version of Karl Rove.
Do you have any idea what you are talking about. MLk spoke of love and character and thought when people where wrong they should fess up. He beleived in personal accountability. NOt making excuses for your friends and lying about them. Nor did he teach the hate of wright. Look at tall the things Obama has had his hand in. Does that say good character to you? How many times can you be in the wrong place at the wrong time. or "not Know"?
I may not vote for Obama, but, in case you have only seen Fox News/media soundbyte clips, I think you might want to watch the Wright sermon in full so you will understand what was said in context.
I don't see any difference between Wright's sermon and what Billy Graham said when he compared the US with Sodom & Gomorrah, which God Destroyed.
Wright's "God Damn America" has been twisted into a Hate Speech. It wasn't, it was a warning. And not too many have picked up on that because of spins.
I don't have cable so I don't watch fox. Billy Graham has false doctrine. Billy Graham has lost alot of clout with Christians because of his statements. Wright period is a rate monger period. This is not his only sermon. And my plight is not just with that association it is the accumulation of many. All of us have friends we are not proud of and have done things wrong. His story changes about them which proves dishonesty and makes me uncomfortable.
It was hate speech. Judge the man by his collective work, if that speech alone doesn't do it there are plenty of others to choose from. Obama's 20 years association with this man shows at best, flawed judgement and at worst an opportunistic politician who will do anything to be elected.
Let us not forget that Obama is related to Dick Cheney who is associated with Donald Rumsfeld who is associated with Saddam Hussein. Who was allegedly associated with Al Qaeda according George W. Bush who it is alleged to have responded to what has been called a terrorist attack on 9/11/01 with an attack on a people without regard to innocent men women and children, whom at no fault of their own were murdered by the armed forces of the United States of America.
I'm saying that MLK's niece said that character is what matters. That's exactly true. Obama is an amazing character. Obama left Wright's church when Wright turned racist. Before recently, Wright was a very kind man.
The "..damn America remark was a rhetorical device to compare current America to the Biblical Israelites who both stood to lose Gods favor. Sorry you didn't hear the whole clip.
"If God doesnt judge America for its immorality, Hell have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah."
What Rev. Wright was saying only echoed Rev. Graham.
IMHO, The Wright Sermon had been spun by both Hillary supporters and the right wing media into meaning "Obama is anti-american, therefore don't vote for him."
The catholic church says the most important issue is stopping abortion. Pope Benedict said catholics may disagree on the war, but not on the issue of abortion. Over one million babies will be aborted this year in America. We must vote for the least loss of life.
That's why you should vote Democratic..the party that supports reproductive education, contraceptives and adoption..It was a Republican leaning supreme court that voted Roe v. Wade.
So you're saying it's ok to be pro war, but that kind of killing is not as bad as abortions are? Can you enlighten me as to what other kind of killing is ok? So right to life only applies to fetuses?
vote with the characters in the bible? only jesus was halfway decent. abraham, solomon, moses, issac, jacob, paul, and peter were racist, or muderers, or genocidal maniacs
MLK spoke of "little black children and little white children playing together". Compare that to Obama's pastor's "God Damn America" and "The US of KKKA" remarks. This man has such seething hatred for other races,it's startling in its intensity.MLK would disavow this guy in a heartbeat. Those who are voting for Obama because he's black is spitting on MLK's grave, and have no idea what Dr. King was all about.
Look at the legacy that Martin Luther King has left behind. We could all take a lesson. His love for God and mankind. He was a true Christian. Where have our values gone? I am so angry that Obama has excited all this racism. He is trying to put salt in the wounds of American people and distroy all of our progress. So he can get ahead politicaly? It isn't worth it. People are not racist for voting for their values.
@jmfcg5 what racism has obama excited? And people accused MLK of stirring up racist emotion. they called him a community organizing rabble rouser. what do you think civil rights movement was about? you talk as if there was no racism or problems when MLK was around. Well if there was no racism when MLK was alive then who or what was he fighting? your comment makes no sense and the fact you got so many thumbs up makes no sense either.Your comment to me is a disgrace to MLK.
@jmfcg5 People like you who keep making ignorant statements. disgust meyou try to act asif obama has somehow hurt race relations like race reltions were good until Obama got into office. Well if you think race relations were good until Obama got into office then that means you must hate MLK. MLK said he wanted to see a day when whites and blacks could hold hands together. Which means he himself did not think race relations was any good when he was alive he just hoped for it. Duh!
What is wrong with the nature in which the message is presented? children interperet things without hatred, without arrogance, and simply.
As for what faith has to do with what is for Americans, it is more than just what one believes in. While Christians are unique, all Christians who take their faith seriously have like characteristics, and, many of those characteristics are good characteristics for a leader to have. Obama has a weak faith, it shows on matters such as abortion.
Separation of Church and State. While you may be Christian, I am not. Why should your values hold over mine? Just because I'm not Christian does not mean I am a bad person, so why should the election be decided on your ideals?
Not being a Christian has nothing do with being a bad or good person. We are aloud to vote on our morals as are you. My biggest problem with Obama have nothing to do with my religion. He want to disarm America, He wants to add 500,000 civil police. He tax credit are going to give people money they did not earn. He wants there to be more government programs when the government does not know how to run the programs it has. The list can go on.
True, but on the other hand, bombing innocent children is not acceptable either.
Make no mistake, I am against abortion, but I am guilty of other faults, both known and unknown to me.
The keywords are "Christians who take their faith seriously". BUT salvation is God's doing, through His Son Jesus and not by the "good" deeds of ourselves. If "Christians"
believe their works, alone, can save their souls, they'll have another thought coming.
Your right, but if someone is willing to say "im an evangelical Christian" when they know they might lose some votes for it, it shows their character. I guess what I meant to say is, someones values affect their actions, and religion or lack thereof has an affect on someone's values.
"..someones values affect their actions, and religion or lack thereof has an affect on someone's values."
You are absolutely correct - I don't know how many people I have run into who have argued about separation of church & state.
I have said: your religion dictates your morals, your morals dictate your choice of action. An atheist is not going to understand a Christian's PoV but instead attack the Christian because of his/her belief.
Stop with the victim complex. I'm Atheist, but I don't go around committing felonies. You believe that we are Atheists because we can't understand your POV, when really we simply choose a different path. You believe actions have consequences in the afterlife, while I believe they have consequences in this one. Not believing in God does not mean I or anyone else can't believe in the fundamental values that he is synonymous with. I can disagree with you without hating you.
You assume that Atheists attack your beliefs because we can't understand them. Though truthfully, any Atheists that's out of high school have no real problem with Christians or (most) organized religion. You and I hold the same morals, but they come from a different source.
I beleive it is your right as an American for you to beleive what you want. I think most do. Am I wrong? maybe so. As christian God gave you that right too.
Great message. I've made the same point to my friends who asked me if I was racist because I wasn't voting for Obama. When I asked my black friend if he was voting for Obama because he was black he said yes. So I asked him if that makes him a racist. He was dumbfounded.

Race-baed policy, is Race-ist policy. If it treats you different because you're black, than it does not live up to the Dream.
MLK would NEVER stand for what Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson have become.

Vote consistently with the values of the bible? mass murder, slavery, misogyny, not eating shellfish, or wearing clothes from 2 kinds of cloth etc etc. Show me someone who is consistent with all the values of the bible not just the ones that line up with their own prejudices and then talk.

The unborn are victims of slavery of the "freedom to choose." How about freedom and equal rights for them?
vechorik 1 year ago
@vechorik The despicable LIE that the NAACP does not "support the right to live" is the typical radical right hysteria. The NAACP is for EQUALITY, including the equality of women to control their own reproductive decisions. It IS a choice of freedom, and comparing a fetus to human beings whose rights you want to destroy is simply wrong. "Equal rights" for embryos, while DENYING equal rights to women is an abomination of justice.

@PrisonerNumber9653
Thus the question arises to what extent birth control has had a eugenic effect upon the Negro race ..."
kgunby 1 year ago
@PrisonerNumber9653
Is that quote fake?
kgunby 1 year ago
@PrisonerNumber9653, Margaret Sanger, who spawned the International Planned Parenthood Federation quotes: "Birth control must lead ultimately to a cleaner race." - "We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We don't want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population"
vechorik 1 year ago
@vechorik While there's little doubt Sanger, ONE PERSON, held controversial ideals (some of the quotes attributed to her are fakes) it's well known that she was admired by Martin Luther King and did NOT view blacks, or anyone else, as inferior.
None of this changes the FACT that reproductive choice IS a human right, neccessary for equality for women, and it would be especially destructive for African-American communities to rob women of this civil right.
PrisonerNumber9653 1 year ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 You are blind. I see you used the lamest bullshit excuse ever to "justify" why MLK was republican, saying the two parties were completely different 50 years ago as if they traded places. No. Guess again.
kgunby 1 year ago
Not blind, nor are the FACTS about King's party registration "bullshit". The parties WERE entirely different 50 years ago. This was before the radical right took over the GOP, and a time when the Democrats in the south did still have substantial race problems.
If you don't think they've changed, you're just badly informed, but--name a SINGLE Republican office holder in this day and age who supports reparations for slavery, and aggressive affirmative action. King was not a conservative

You been to The Black Sphere on the internet?

@Boris82much Truly sick, racist BULLSHIT. We are nowhere CLOSE to "socialism" or "nanny state" and calling that "slavery" is an insanely insulting slap in the FACE to every black person and everyone who knew REAL racism.
King DID condone helping the poor, the right's LIES that they just "didn't work hard enough" were BLASTED by Dr. King. You are LYING about his principles. He supported economic justice, SIGNIFICANT increases in spending to help the poor, AGGRESSIVE affirmative action.

StuartTV 1 year ago
@StuartTV When I lived in Georgia and Montgomery Alabama in the 60's the whites who feared equal rights for all and hated African Americans WERE DEMOCRATS. It was President Lincoln who started the Republican Party to, in part, STOP SLAVERY. Dr. Alveda King is courageous.
Boris82much 1 year ago
@Boris82much So what if lincoln try to stop slavery. He didnt do anything about about racism. Racism and slavery are 2 different tthings. In fact comments like yours shows how racist this country still is. Blacks have been oppressed so long people act like when you free slaves your freeing black people. As if slavery is simply a black thing. Well if i freed slaves in China today i wouldnt be freeing blacks I would be freeing women. and whites were slaves in history too.
rashadkijani 1 year ago
@Boris82much If lincoln would have done something about racism then the slavery of blacks would of naturally ended on its own. Becuz racism was the cause of why people thought blacks should be enslaved. Slavery was just a sympton of that belief. Even though slavery legally ended in the 1860's and blacks were no longer slaves they still were raped and lynched and couldnt vote like every other citizen.
rashadkijani 1 year ago
@rashadkijani He fuckin' got the ball rolling right before he was assassinated. Where did you learn American history? Cuba?
Doesn't the making of a new party and running for office BECAUSE slavery was not being stopped and outlawed...and 4 years of a bloody civil war...don't you think he was 'doing something about racism'????? READ THE SPEECH HE GAVE IN GETTYSBURG, PA: THE GETTYSBURG ADDRESS.
And racism comes in a rainbow of colors, unfortunately. But the law makes us equal.
Boris82much 1 year ago
@Boris82much More hogwash. Lincoln did SQUAT to address racism, and ONLY ended slavery when he had to. Lincoln didn't free the slaves, Sojourner Truth and John Brown freed the slaves.
The racist LIE of "racism comes in a rainbow of colors" this TRASH that black people fighting for justice and angry about the MASSIVE injustice in our nation are "racist" is shameful trash.
The law is SUPPOSED to make us equal, but it is FAILING miserably. Our "justice " system is horribly racist.
PrisonerNumber9653 1 year ago
@Boris82much Slavery and racism are 2 differentthings the fact that so many people think being against slavery automatically means you care about blcks shows either how stupid people are or how racist this country still is. Every group has been enslaved at some point in human history and some still are. Lincoln and alot of northern soldiers were just as racist as the southerners they didnt even want to fight next to blacks and didnt like the idea of blacks with guns any more than the south.
rashadkijani 1 year ago
@Boris82much If you knew some 1 who hated you enough to want to kill you the just taking a gun from their hand isnt going to stop them. They would just find a knife or something. The only way to stop them is to jail them, kill them or try to culturally change their point of view of you so they no longer want to see you dead. thats why most of blacks dont like republicans black or white becuz they alway try to down play the importance or existence of racism. They dont admit to the real problem.

Ajntb2Sli 2 years ago
How are you going to come on here and say that Mr. Kings niece doesn't know what she is talking about? Are you a moron? or just plain racist to the core that all you see is color? Yes, Mr. King was fighting for the rights that he saw in his community (the black community), but he ultimately believed in equality for ALL. He wanted for there not to be racism from any color or class. Unfortunately, Obama and his followers have produced both.
Ajntb2Sli 2 years ago
Why are these idiots making a mockery of MLK...his niece is so opportunistic and she knows nothing about her own uncle. Why no mention of what he actually spoke out against and fought for instead of where he would stand on wedge issues that were not around during his time.
Many black ministers viewed MLK as radical. If MLK was around today, Harry Jackson would not be trying to claim him.

It is ok though, Adolf Hitler himself preached of men like Barack Obama.

Look, we don't think of abortion as okay. People who have had abortions think about it and never quite get over it. And what if the baby has a disease where it would die after one year and be miserable it's whole life anyway? It'd be for the baby's own good in that case.
Liberalman35 3 years ago
"people who have had abortions think about it and never quite get over it" If it weighs so heavily on their minds then why do some of them have multiple abortions? Or better yet why did they not use birth control to prevent the pregnancy before it happend. I believe in a womans right to choose. I simply believe that the choice is made 9 months before the baby is born.

GalvestonCity 3 years ago
The study, by The Pew Research Center's Project for Excellence in Journalism, a non-partisan journalism watchdog organization, examined 2,412 stories from 43 newspapers and cable news shows in the six-week period beginning just after the conventions and ending with the final presidential debate.
For Obama, the study found coverage has been more positive than negative," with 36 percent of the stories positive in tone, 35 percent mixed, and 29 percent negative.
GalvestonCity 3 years ago
In the national media, just 14 percent of the stories about John McCain from the conventions through the final presidential debate were positive in tone, according to a study released Oct. 22, while nearly 60 percent were negative—the least favorable coverage of any of the 4 candidates on the ticket.

It is hypocritical to name a holiday after this man.

jmfcg5 3 years ago 2
I may not vote for Obama, but, in case you have only seen Fox News/media soundbyte clips, I think you might want to watch the Wright sermon in full so you will understand what was said in context.
I don't see any difference between Wright's sermon and what Billy Graham said when he compared the US with Sodom & Gomorrah, which God Destroyed.
Wright's "God Damn America" has been twisted into a Hate Speech. It wasn't, it was a warning. And not too many have picked up on that because of spins.
MrRottenApple 3 years ago
I don't have cable so I don't watch fox. Billy Graham has false doctrine. Billy Graham has lost alot of clout with Christians because of his statements. Wright period is a rate monger period. This is not his only sermon. And my plight is not just with that association it is the accumulation of many. All of us have friends we are not proud of and have done things wrong. His story changes about them which proves dishonesty and makes me uncomfortable.

Then I respect your decision.

Same is true for feminists, les./homo.'s
Same is

Stop with the victim complex. I'm Atheist, but I don't go around committing felonies. You believe that we are Atheists because we can't understand your POV, when really we simply choose a different path. You believe actions have consequences in the afterlife, while I believe they have consequences in this one. Not believing in God does not mean I or anyone else can't believe in the fundamental values that he is synonymous with. I can disagree with you without hating you.
Altier 3 years ago
No victim complex.
You are just 21 years old which means you have little adult time.
MrRottenApple 3 years ago
You assume that Atheists attack your beliefs because we can't understand them. Though truthfully, any Atheists that's out of high school have no real problem with Christians or (most) organized religion. You and I hold the same morals, but they come from a different source.

I beleive it is your right as an American for you to beleive what you want. I think most do. Am I wrong? maybe so. As christian God gave you that right too.
jmfcg5 3 years ago
Actually, im only 15. Age has little to do with moral values.

You know just as well as I do that being Atheist will lose someone more votes than being a Christian

Great message. I've made the same point to my friends who asked me if I was racist because I wasn't voting for Obama. When I asked my black friend if he was voting for Obama because he was black he said yes. So I asked him if that makes him a racist. He was dumbfounded.
