They aren't my "idols," but they were entertaining to watch, and put on an exciting show. Cynic may be the lyrical genius' you say they are, but no one at the concert would have known, as the lead singer mumbled for duration of his entire performance. Lots of people apparently really like Cynic, so, maybe I'll check out some of their studio recordings or something.

Well music has become more about entertainment than it is music. this kid proves it. Cynic were by far the most talented musicians and not just lyrically like you said. everything about the music just feels full. unlike dragon force..just sounds like a sloppy mess and theyre kicking around..i mean what the fuck? youre deaf if you disagree. their first song, listen to the drumming and the buildup of the music. i couldnt stay for dragon force. i thought daath was too negative and sloppy playing.

What kid proves WHAT!? If you were at the concert, and you knew nothing about Cynic, there is no possible way you could possibly appreciate that group. Their presentation was as low grade as it could possibly have been. They never addressed the audience, and when they did, they mumbled so no one could understand them. What the hell was there to appreciate? If it is the lyrics... then for GOD'S SAKE! Speak up so we can hear you! They should have to altered their presentation for the situation.

i did go, i loved it but then again i did go for only cynic. i honestly never care too much about lyrics. im glad they didnt jump around. to me music isnt to put a good stage performance but rather have a great experience with the music being performed. but whatever to each their own..peace and love

It is rather odd they would tour with death metal and power metal groups then. Maybe if I would have went to Tom Petty or Coldplay concert, and Cynic was the opening band for THEM, then people would already be in the mindset for a nice, relaxing evening of poetry in music. Daath really tried to pump up the crowd, and then Cynic was a total buzzkill. They may be great musicians, but they certainly aren't very personable (at least at their concert in Spokane...)

They didn't hardly talk to the crowd at all... and when they did, it was like the main guy mumbling.... he did not talk loud enough for anyone to hear.

Also, all of their music was pretty slow, and there were no special lighting effects for them...just the guy singing with a not-very-lively band supporting him.

when their part of the concert was over, they just kinda walked off stage and left.... it was like.... okaaaay... that was lame....

Yeah, there was a pit. People moshed for Daath and DragonForce, and while there was a pit for Cynic... people just kind of stood around because there was no way to get into the music... not very good stage performance.
