You know, instead of laughing, you should do some homework before commenting. This is not Zouk, but it certainly is not salsa. This is Zouk Lambada, which is actually a more complex and slow version of the lambada. The uploader is just poor in discriminating between the two. But seriously, if you call this salsa, you certainly come from an island far, very far and far away from civillisation.
I do not agree with the last part of your comment. The spirit of Zouk-Lambada is more complex and elaborate than the way they dance Zouk in the Carribean. I do NOT see how the "easy" Carribean zouk DOES go allong with the spirit of Zouk and Zouk-Lambada cannot. If you don't see love & peace in Zouk-Lambada, you might need to change your glasses.

Hello Raybossa, the singer's name is PHIL CONTROL and he's coming from West Indies (guadeloupe). the title of this song is "téléfoné mwen" that means "call me" (on the phone).
ok COULD SOMEONE PLEASE TELL US THE TITLE OF THIS SONG. I wasted my time reading master "know it all" comments. dancing is a form of art and pple can create art in anyway they like. it's called expression. if the brazilians like dancing it this way thats ok I love it! I grew up with a lot of haitians and guess what I love the way they dance it too! Just appreciate that the music is known WORLD WIDE b/c of this dance. pple know what this music sounds like and love it no matter what.
Zouk is danced and taught in a structured ballroom style in central Africa, then it is taught another way in southern Africa. They look nothing like French Caribbean Zouk. Do you have a problem with that as well? Classical dance companies also use ethnic music for inspiration. My point is that dance has no limitations when it comes to musical interpretation.
Nobody is trying to insult you. :-) We are simply trying to make the most of the music through the beauty of dance. Zouk preceded Lambada anyway - even in Brazil. It arrived there over 20 years ago. I'll tell you something else you probably don't know - I've been researching the African Diaspora for a while now and I have also interviewed Jocelyn Guilbault, author of the book "Zouk - World Music in the West Indies". (continued below)
I know that their is much love for the Zouk music genre in Brasil. It is not appreciated Zoukeira for people like you to insult the originators.
For the same effort you afficionados can continue Lambada music and let Caribbean/French/Cape Verdean zouk music over to those who it was intended for.
*Seemingly there may be an error in posting comments*: I would encourage/invite people to go to the Caribbean (where Zouk & Konpa originated) & France (where many legendary Zouk bands create their smash hits)to observe how people dance the music in it's intended form, from clubs to simple birthday parties. Oh and not forgetting the Cape Verde islands. The dance is much slower paced and/or followed by the rythms of that particular song played, not a total choreography.
But here in Brazil it's much more beautiful than this... I already saw an African dancing zouk. It's incomparably worst than the latin people dancing...
Hmm. THE POINT IS. How would it sit with pillars of the salsa community if danceschools/companies would to teach RIVERDANCE steps to songs of Celia Cruz!

Ce n'est pas du tout de cette maniere que l'on danse le ZOUK !
C'est de l'usurpation !
This Video is absolutely not how we dance Zouk !
This music comes from the carribbean YES but it is not at all how we dance it.
Zouk music is about Love/Peace … the BRAZILIAN dance does NOT go AT ALL along with the music's message and SPIRIT.

It is so that the French Antillean community is relatively small in comparison to the better known Brazillian genres.
Yet you SHOULD NOT INSULT Caribbean/African people. It is after all OUR music and we dance it the way it is meant to be.
What the lastest movement of Brasa-Zouk , Lambadazouk basically is, is SECOND HAND.
