@1992danp sfsg is mainly 1 para, but it has Royal Marines, and RAF reg in it too. I think now it's open to all armed forces that have done either the all arms commando course or p company. Not sure where I heard that from though.

I know they've got a specialised role ( RAF's Force Protection) and they consider themselves Elite mate,but along with most other servicemans opion (Including my brother who served in both the RAF Regt and Royal Artillery) is that they are the same standard as an Army infantry regiment,as I said before I may be wrong elements are good enough to serve with the SFSG

@DevilLordful Is this a massive wah? My brief experience of the RAF Regt... the officer that ND'd on our ranges, the guy who forgot his helmet as they were about to go outside the wire, the ied they failed to see being laid in plain sight 10m from their sangar in Bastion.... Not elite.
