He just bought something that cost 25 cents(reason for such a crappy quality camera), and tricked you guys into believing that he hacked the vending machine, he then placed an extra 25 cents to his change and bought chips to distract you from the first item he bought! Don't believe me? Ok well explain the part where he had to hold open the door and to pick up the chips? The door isn't connected-Technology-wise-to the machine's computer, its just lever works.

Remember not all vending machines are made from the same company, so if it doesn't work then try another one thats not of the same type. Never tried it but its just a thought I had.

There is a sensor at the bottom that detects when the item falls and hits it, but if you hold up the flap (and the item hits that instead), the machine will think that the item didn't vend because it didn't hit the bottom.

I work for a vending company and what he just did is real, there is no video trick with the money. Most new machines have a "Vend Sensor", and what it does is registers an item hitting the bottom of the machine. If you put your hand in it gently and let the item catch on the door the machine will give you your change back because it thinks that the vend did not happen. There is no reason to hot the coin return, it will return the change anyway.
