  • @1018firefighter Do it! Post vids of your work on Youtube. Go to HankIIIOffical on Youtube and ask for help, play at bars, do anything to be noticed. Todays country music appeals to kids and makes money, Don't appeal to kids and make money, keep it real!

  • @1018firefighter i to am a country music artist im 18 an live an houre north of chicago. people ask, ''oh do u like jason aldean or brently gilbert'' i say whos that then they say well ur jus a fake. i ask do u know who george jones or waylon jennings is an they say no i ask whos the fake now. country now days is ''POP COUNTRY" meaning popular its not country its pop music with some redneck stereo types mixed in. i guess only people that give country music hope is jamey johnson, hank 3

  • @SuperFenderfan and people like you and me who are unheardof. just dont sell out stay true to yourself even if that big check looks good

  • waylon rox

    fukkk everybody

  • The big man R.I.P.!!!

  • Waylon invincible....now IMMORTAL.

  • This songs incredible, it was the first Waylon song i'd ever heard. There's not much real country out there anymore. Hell, there's not really anything out there anymore...

  • This kind of music will happen again. Im broken, not yet crippled, but im on my way and when the time comes to -- ill be playing these songs. Tonight i toast her with a shot of makers mark, the next shot was for the devil, and the last was for me on my way to hell.

  • Shame the likes of waylon have to die. Great vid

  • outstanding.

    just outstanding

  • Waylon Forever. R.I.P. brother

    .

  • @zachariahpeacock well said .. tc my friend

  • @teddie488 Jamey Johnson should be on that list with Shooter and them. He aint really pushing bounderies but he does what he wants no matter what his label or what CMT says he should do. He plays what he likes.

  • To bad they don't make Country like this anymore. It's a real shame.

  • These fools marketed as the "New Outlaws" like Eric Church, Justin Moore & Josh Thompson make me nauseous. They are everything Waylon fought AGAINST, manufactured slop!

Thank the lord there are some real outlaws out there who arent afraid of doing things their own way & pushing boundaries, like Shooter, Hank 3, Bob Wayne, Corb Lund...

  • @dusty45s I'm with you there ... tc my friend

  • @dusty45s Don't forget Leroy Powell, Ted Russel Kamp, and Jamey Johnson (yes, I include him)

  • @dusty45s don't forget jamey johnson, brantley gilbert and colt ford

  • @dusty45s I do like Justin Moore. But I agree with you on everything else.

  • @dusty45s Pop-country is the biggest disgrace to a southern heritage name.

  • rarely do u hear a "rockin" song turned into a sad ballad, this took balls to do it is awesome and hauting, shooter on keyboard, daddy singing.-------how can u listen to this and not be affected?

  • @hanktified99 You are so right . You listen to the two versions and love 'em both, the same song but so different

thats a great comment you make my friend....tc

  • Dear God... it feels like a 10 inch knife in my chest.

  • badass tune man, gota love waylon

  • this song is so strong. my dad got me into waylon jennings. im much more open musically thanks to my dad. all i used to listen to was metal (i still do and always will) but waylon was an exellent song writer. but what happened to country. its all poppy and mainstream now. the shits on the pop charts now next to people like lady gaga. its not country western anymore its country alternative pop. what a shame.

  • @hateworldwide666 You are right there Country Is Dying it is going dow the same road as pop . Heavily manufactured with young country singer to afraid to stand up for what they believe in and allowing rich music moguls to dictate where there music should be going. Thank god for the odd few doing it their own way.

    Thanks for a great comment

  • @teddie488 there are still some pretty good traditional country bands out there(just not on the radio). went to merle haggard concert earlier this year and he had an awesome band open for him, and they still had a steel guitar.

  • @jordansa33 Yea your right if course but the powers that be seem to be supressing the real talent for the like of Taylor Swift please if that aint manufactured rubbish. I even saw her billed as the New Queen Of Country, i have nothing against her, she is making a good living and good loo to her .. my argument is with whoever tagged her country, and artists like her Of course you are right there are some great bands and singers coming thru ..thanks for reminding me and putting me straight .

  • @hateworldwide666

    Can't agree more.....

  • True country...true outlaw. God Bless Waylon!

  • I really thought he'd be around forever. Goddam disease took a good man down ! I'm still pissed ! I loved him...in the truest since of the word.

  • @Mr1962KDSelvis I am sure he fought so hard to carry on but we all miss him ..Thanks for the comment

  • Rihanna "The Way you Lie" would mash up really well with this song.

  • I was never really a country fan then became a Waylon Jennings fan long ago which led me to Willy nelson and Billy Joe shavers they're all like a River that is connected.

These guys are real not like some of the new flashy guys. There music will keep

flowing long after there gone. I heard Hank Williams jr at a awards show

say after Waylon's passing "ALL OF US ARE LIKE CRAFTSMEN ,CARPENTERS

WITH OUR CRAFT, WAYLON JENNINGS WAS A STAR., HOW RIGHT IT WAS

  • this is an awesome song.....Long Live Waylon Jennings the TRUE outlaw of Real country music along with hank jr. george jones and merle haggard

  • is this on an album?

  • Nice! I'm just discovering Waylon Jennings (beyond The Highwaymen) - And this is in my opinion a really good song! :).

  • @Norwegian23nnn Welcome to Waylon there is so much to listen to if you have just become a fan ............but i promise you have struck gold ..tc

  • @Norwegian23nnn

This is in my opinion his best song.I grew up listening to Waylon, riding in my dads pick up truck as a little boy..

This song is one of the most true sincere songs I've ever heared

  • If I recall correctly, Shooter Jennings produced this.

  • @alienenigma Yea it was Shooter who produced the album

  • @teddie488 what album is this on?

  • @LordbabyBendall .It os on Waylon Forever ......released in 08

    still available from amazon

  • @teddie488 thx brother I'll tell u what this remix or cover(if you will) has a ton of felling to it almost like remorse I'm embarassed to say I don't own this alubm but I'm gonna get it ,it seems to me that ol Waylon did the impossable I mean by improving on one of the greatest song in country music history (well according to this Waylon fan)anyway thx again

  • May be when it comes to Waylon i like the Waylon that i grew up with well since the late 60's early 70s and i do prefer the original, but Waylon was always progressive

so i guess this is in keeping with the great man. A welcome comment indeed Thank you

  • waylon did a better job on the "remix" of this song than the original in my opinion...this version has more meaning to it...i believe waylon knew his end was coming and wanted his final album to reflect himself as he was...a beautiful collection to say the least...we all miss you waylon

    Baker. Bridgewater NS, Canada

  • I like the remix but if i had to choose between them i like the original more . The songs on the album were done a few years before he died and it was Shooter who put it togethere and released it after his death, great album tho and thanks for commenting

  • SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL.

    Thank you for posting.

How about one for the remix of Waymore's Blues'?

  • I think it is on youtube somewhere

  • A remix this one? In that case I missed the original recording! When was that recorded?

  • You will have heard the original called '' Don't you think this outlaw bit , as gotten out of hand '' it is on you tube in the original form From The album ''Ive always been crazy''

    1978

  • Thanks! I was busy registering it and I didn't notice that! Anyway, arranged in such a way, it's as good as new! Probably came back to earth a little while to give Shooter a helping hand!

  • Is he still alive?

  • @ralph4900

    unfortunatly no.

  • A man who did more for country music then anyone..God bless the King, RIP HOSS...

It's a shame most people dont know the sacrafices Waylon made, the doors he opened, the walls he climbed or kicked down, so others would have musical freedom.

    There will NEVER be another....Never...

  • And to think he was almost killed during the Buddy Holly plane crash.

  • it was a close Waylon Never forgot those friends of his, he was haunted for many years after.

  • @teddie488 my top 5 of people i wish i could have met:)

  • Wow I never new he did this song like this!! I still love it either way he does it!! *****

  • Ray it is on the last album released called Waylon Forever have you got it ???

  • No I don't Eddie... It sounds like I should get it though!! Thanks for posting!!!

  • thanks for keeping Waylon's spirit alive ! good job... did you ever make a video with "The Makin's of A Song" from the Clean Shirt album ?

  • No i aint done that one but i will now , keep watching, Pat ,thanks fot the comment

  • Teddy i gotta thank you again for all the songs you keep diggin' out =D

  • Thanks for the kind comments LT TC my friend

  • One of his best recordings ever !!!

    Thanks for sharing Eddie.

    Greetz, Gert

  • Gert, thanks for commenting TC

  • His voice changed so many times through his career! This is later on.....and no matter how many changes it's still the sexiest voice in music!

    ta very much Teddie!

  • Very true..paulyspixie! no matter what age..or what he sang his awesome voice & looks were always there!!

    What a MAN!

Thanks for another good one Eddie!

  • Waylon of course Marion, i can't say that being a geezer myself. ( Thats what a Londoner calls a man) ok so i live 250 miles outside of London Lol

  • A soulful song to be sure..and the lyrics...LOL...he got away with just about anything...didn't he? Why we love him!

    TY Eddie.

  • Oh yea!! they had tried to make him do stuff and it all backfired on 'em, I think if you was in Waylons gang then you did and said what you wanted too, musically they never tamed him did they ???

  • Kool Video & Nice A Tune :) 5*

    Patricia.

  • Thanks Patricia TC

  • This is a great album - this song was obviously completely reworked, while the others were closer in style to the originals (the version of Jack Of Diamonds is outstanding).

  • yea michael i agree it is a great album altogether he did it with the 357's and i think Shooter produced some of the work on the album
