I beat this game today, it was actually really fun! I think it would be cool if a savvy Java Programmer took this up and turned it into a longer project and added more depth to it, it certainly has potential!

I think its awesome that Notch made this from scratch in 48 hours, he is really an awesome game creator.

My second run through the game, I actually sequence broke.

The trick involves completing the first dungeon.

From there, got to the forest dungeon. But when you get the the ice outside, wait for an eyeball to come towards you. Slide, but with your back against the area with the clippers. If you time it right, the eye will hit you, and the knockback will send you backwards into the area with the clippers. This enables you to get more ammo early on, and get a potion or two.

I managed to beat the final boss with 7 HP (1 HP remaining afterwards).

I first practiced the route I had to walk several times so I didn't lose my way. Then kited the boss to the chest.
