I love DS1 & DS2. The DS3 gameplay is INCREDIBLE, but the multiplayer is horrible. DS1 was by far the best one known for it's incredible campaign and fascinating multiplayer (with custom characters and LOTS of items), unlike DS3, which I must say I was very disappointed to see multiple negative things. However, I am most amazed by the gameplay of it.
No it hasn't been ported will to the XBOX/PS3. It was WRITTEN to be a console game. It is absolutely horrible to play on the PC because of this.
Don't buy it for multiplayer gameplay on the PC. Camera settings are horrible. Everyone has to stay within one screen. Text boxes jump around or jitter randomly when people move.
Its just not playable. I got nausiated from the camera constantly moving when someone moves. My 3 mates and I quit after 5 minutes of gaming. It's that bad!

None of the other dungeon siege games had too good of choices for races or skin options anyways. so eevn though you could create a toon you wanted they was lame in both 1 and 2 , all they had to do with this 3rd game is put the skills tree from part 2 , allow you to duel and mess around with friends from part one and fix all the connection problems on the internet in joining games and then you have a great game. I have a feeling they did none.
This game was lame, they took out the ability to create your own character which was always the best part of dungeon siege. Id play the second one over this crap any day.
Finished this game; Weakest game of the Dungeon Siege series and only recommended for people who want to feel and look cool, like diablo 3. I miss Diablo 1, 2 and Dungeon Siege 1, 2. They gave me more challenge damnit. Dungeon Siege 3 felt like it was for monkies.

I don't agree with this review. The game is definately not a masterpiece, but the biggest problem I have with it is that it's called Dungeon Siege, while it's clear it has almost nothing in common. It feels like the creators just needed some cash, so they created a random game and called it DS to get more cash.
@Dariusstarkus It's not the same creators, and Obsidian is more focused into storytelling. The game is good, just different from the predecessors. And yes it DOES deserver its name because it's story is a follow up of the first 2.
Yeah maybe fight system is action filled, but die hard DS fans loved DS1 and DS2 for other reason. First of all the character customization in those games was great. In DS3 there is none. The Skill system was amazing in DS1 and DS2 - you could easily create new classes like battle mage, druid warior or anything you wanted by just leveling up corresponding skills. In DS3 you have only a few spells and skills which sucks. The game is too linear even for a DS game. In conclusion, this game sucks.
This is currently downloading on steam and I'm not looking forward to it at all. I only preordered it to get copies of good games DS1 and DS2. The main feature Dungeon Siege has is it's amazing customisation. "Heres a blank template now do whatever you like we don't care". So naturally Square Enix get the rights to the game and the first bright idea they have is "Hey let's take out the customisation and make prebuilt classes a knight, mage... etc" Well done Square Enix Well Done...

This is not dungeon siege. This is a steaming pile of **** with the name 'dungeon siege' on it. I played the demo and i have never seen a uglier game this year. people i understand that this is a pc classic, as im both a pc gamer and a console gamer, i just prefer my games more on consoles. I've been fortunate enough to have fond memories of playing DS1 and DS2 back on the PC in 2002/2004-5 respectively, and Obviously most RPG games like DS pay homage to their computer origins as the complexities that arise when playing them are well suited to a keyboard.
Nonetheless I will actually be buying this on console rather than Steam because tilt-to-move rather than click-to-move is, in my opinion, a better format for a hack n' slash. But then mother always said I was special..

I played the demo and i was not impressed. the graphics are nice but that is not a selling point. sure its available for console but the original market is pc. noways its all about money so if they appeal to console they will get sales no matter what they release. inventory is too much of a chore items are really dry skill tree is very basic and with the coice of classes they will not be balanced for online gameplay.
Gauntlet was more complicated than this game. No more point and click. Just click and click and click and click until you get sick. What a piece of SH**

@CooperSnow DS1 and 2 were for the niche group of tabletop nerds who can sit through 50 hours of doing nothing besides clicking. The combat was unexciting, story was bland, game difficulty was way too easy, and the gameplay gets repetitive after a couple hours of play. This is why the DS series never sold well and needed a reboot, but I don't think copying Diablo is the way to go either. Diablo will always be the king of RPG hack and slash genre.
@CooperSnow That's impossible. DS2 was operating on a modified version of the original DS engine which was made 9 years ago. DS3 is built on the brand new Onyx engine that Obsidian made just for this game.

I don't agree with this review. The game is definately not a masterpiece, but the biggest problem I have with it is that it's called Dungeon Siege, while it's clear it has almost nothing in common. It feels like the creators just needed some cash, so they created a random game and called it DS to get more cash.

@Dariusstarkus It's not the same creators, and Obsidian is more focused into storytelling. The game is good, just different from the predecessors. And yes it DOES deserver its name because it's story is a follow up of the first 2.

Yeah maybe fight system is action filled, but die hard DS fans loved DS1 and DS2 for other reason. First of all the character customization in those games was great. In DS3 there is none. The Skill system was amazing in DS1 and DS2 - you could easily create new classes like battle mage, druid warior or anything you wanted by just leveling up corresponding skills. In DS3 you have only a few spells and skills which sucks. The game is too linear even for a DS game. In conclusion, this game sucks.

This is currently downloading on steam and I'm not looking forward to it at all. I only preordered it to get copies of good games DS1 and DS2. The main feature Dungeon Siege has is it's amazing customisation. "Heres a blank template now do whatever you like we don't care". So naturally Square Enix get the rights to the game and the first bright idea they have is "Hey let's take out the customisation and make prebuilt classes a knight, mage... etc" Well done Square Enix Well Done...

wow i and many of my friends loved the demo. I dont see what people are hating on. Yes i play graphic hore games like call of duty and bad company and all that yet i still like this game. I also play WoW which is probally bigger than this. I dont see how yall can hate this game so much?

This is not dungeon siege. This is a steaming pile of **** with the name 'dungeon siege' on it. I played the demo and i have never seen a uglier game this year. This game plays EXACTLY like Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom. Its a friggin buttonmasher. I want this 'game' to get a review score of 20 and i want for obsidian to finally shut down!

people i understand that this is a pc classic, as im both a pc gamer and a console gamer, i just prefer my games more on consoles. So even though ive never played the older versions, aka DS2, im sure this wont be THAT bad. Either way, im going to give the game a shot on my 360, hopefully it wont be that bad. I just miss these type of games, done with so many damn shooters coming out.

I've been fortunate enough to have fond memories of playing DS1 and DS2 back on the PC in 2002/2004-5 respectively, and Obviously most RPG games like DS pay homage to their computer origins as the complexities that arise when playing them are well suited to a keyboard.
Nonetheless I will actually be buying this on console rather than Steam because tilt-to-move rather than click-to-move is, in my opinion, a better format for a hack n' slash. But then mother always said I was special..

Played the Demo, and I was impressed with the Story, and Gameplay. I've been yearning for a game like this for awhile... This will be my fix until Torchlight II or Diablo 3 is released. :DD

I played the demo and i was not impressed. the graphics are nice but that is not a selling point. sure its available for console but the original market is pc. noways its all about money so if they appeal to console they will get sales no matter what they release. inventory is too much of a chore items are really dry skill tree is very basic and with the coice of classes they will not be balanced for online gameplay.
dont buy this game if your a pc gamer.

@CooperSnow DS1 and 2 were for the niche group of tabletop nerds who can sit through 50 hours of doing nothing besides clicking. The combat was unexciting, story was bland, game difficulty was way too easy, and the gameplay gets repetitive after a couple hours of play. This is why the DS series never sold well and needed a reboot, but I don't think copying Diablo is the way to go either. Diablo will always be the king of RPG hack and slash genre.

@CooperSnow That's impossible. DS2 was operating on a modified version of the original DS engine which was made 9 years ago. DS3 is built on the brand new Onyx engine that Obsidian made just for this game.
If you think DS2 has better graphics than DS3, you have no idea what you are talking about.

@devilhunterred Imo they are, the polycount is low but the textures are all nice and the clean outlines are nice. DS3 is so blurry and has so many effects it's like they're trying to trick me by covering up all the bad stuff.

And honestly I never understand why mostly american gamers think fable is so great. That game was easier then final fantsy 13. As much as I did not like ff13 it was harder then fable. So far ff13 is the worst square enix game I have played. Not to count how many EA games failed.

This game looks so lame.....its been hogging all the ad bandwidth for every video I've been trying to watch on Youtube today. Neverwinter Nights sucked, New Vegas sucked and KOTOR 2 was ok.....why would anyone want to play this game? @madman3247 NWN was pretty good. I loved New Vegas, a lot more than Fallout 3, and KOTOR 2 was great as well... As for the "it's all been done before" argument, it doesn't really stand up well when talking about games unless you're talking about the same game series shamelessly repeating itself (CoD). I can understand why old fans of this series would be upset over how this is turning out, but I'm probably still going to get it. Mainly because I love playing coop games with friends.

To be honest, the Gun Mage chick looks incredibly awesome, and I want to have a class devoted to her that I can main as, not someone who I can only play when its "her turn in the story".
