Fiona's intro is fresh and relevant yet so insync with the rest of the song. She sings it in G instead of F. Instead of singing 50 notes on everyother syllable, like so many do on star search, she keeps it real, but bending the key notes just enough to give the song even more feeling. (see Julia Nunes:"I wasn't Worried" or "I'll be back", c 4 ur selves how bending a single note with emotion, makes allthe difference in the world" So, this Cover is the best of all, for now, Jan. 1st, 2012.

I totally agree that it's a relief that she doesn't sing 50 notes on every other syllable, like many jazz singers do.

But I disagree that she sings in the key of G. This is definately in the key of C.

She mentions once that writing music is an exhaustive process for her, and not something she always enjoys doing. I've always thought, if she should ever stop making albums, she'd make a tremendous jazz singer. I never get tired of her.

Yes, this is an INCREDIBLE performance. If you are new to her please go get her last two albums Extraordinary Machine and When the Pawn.... Her debut Tidal also has some AMAZING songs on it (listen to "Never is a Promise" - NOW, especially if you like THIS performance) but in my opinion, nothing touches the two albums I mentioned which are so, so good. Not a single bad track on either of them. Amazing, amazing stuff.
