To suffocate them and force them to come to the surface of your skin for air so you can pull them out...gross. Vasaline works, too.

well dunno if you've figured out already seeing as you asked a month ago, but putting duct tape or something similar over the hole suffocates the botfly larva (as they use this hole to breathe) and so the botfly comes to the surface of the skin to try and breathe and once its near the surface it can then be removed

You get bot fly's by being bitten by mosquitos that are carrying the eggs. They then are released into your body, and they use your body as a host. They then grow, and turn into what you see here. :)

And flies. There is an interesting bot fly segment here on you tube somewhere. It shows a bot fly gluing her eggs to flies. Then when the fly lands on a mammal (near a wound or something) the eggs are activated by the heat.

They cover it up with duct tape because the tape deprives the botfly of oxygen and then they will come to the surface of the hole to try and get air. Then when you take the tape off they are right there to grap. You can use vaseline or like anything to cut off the air.
