I would say that I am 100% positive that the reason today (I am 42) that I own and ride motorcycles is because of watching this show when I was a kid.
LOVED THIS SHOW! Iremember it coming on channel 11 here in Texas, when KVTV was a "maverick" channel with no affiliate. I recall seeing this mainly on holidays or days I stayed home sick from school!!
I used to work with a lady from California. One day she was talking about a run-in with the California Highway Patrol, and I asked her if they really do call them the "CHIPS". She said they do. Cool!
EVEN THOUGH I'M 47 AND A LITTLE BIAS,TV BACK THEN WAS MUCH BETTER THEN TO ME.ON A WHOLE.TAKE AWAY SPORTS,WWE,THE REALITY CRIME SHOWS,THE REGULAR CRIME SHOWS AND THE X-RATED CHANNELS,SHIT THERE'S NOTHING REALLY ON THAT'S WORTH A DIME.TOO MUCH SILLY SHIT FOR ME.
@MrTrackfreek There was some funny shows back in them days I thought was funny but didn't stick around long. Like "Sledgehammer". About one of the funniest cop shows that was out then. Somebody told me about a show called "Police Squad" which was suppose to be funny too but I never saw that one.
it's so odd. i remember LOVING this show when i was really young (maybe when i was 5 or 6 years old) but i don't remember the theme tune or anything about it at all.

In the 50s, 60s, and 70s everyone wanted to live in California.
In the 80s, 90s, and 00s, people destroyed California.
In the 10s everyone wants to leave California.

Does anyone know if there was ever a CHiPs soundtrack album? If there wasn't, there should have been.
