It looks like you're taking great care of your pet frog. Love the setup you have. One of the problems with buying frozen pinkies and mice from pet stores is the possibility of freezer burn. You never know how long the frozen ones have been sitting there. My vet recommends live hoppers & pinkies 1X per month. If you accidentally give your frog a mouse with freezer burn it can make him sick.

Also, I keep pet rats, which are intelligent, sweet, docile creatures. I'm hoping to get a Pacman (or other frog), but from what I've read, pinkies are unnecessary as they're high in fat. Oh, and I'm vegan, so I'm not a hypocrite, but I agree that it's ironic people will find it disgusting that other countries eat dogs, but they eat cows.

Allright, when i had a field mouse infestation in my vacation place i "hired" my cat to solve the problem. It was a fucking horrible bloodbath. But it was nature, food chain, i only pushed the events a bit by placing my cat in the same room where the infestation was. Now this cool toad, kept in a glass tank everyday, fed with live mouses that he doesn't have to hunt, seems to be pushing the events a little bit more over nature's standards. Just my opinion, i'm not going sentimental here.

It seems awful that a tiny, helpless baby can be eaten but think of it this way; say there are no predators for the mice. The moce overpopulate, eat out their food supply, then slowly starve to death. Or, they can be eaten in a much quicker fashion and they can continue to breed.
