  • Watched this in history last year xD I wish I took history for GCSE now...

  • we had to do a poem anthology and a friend did hers about the war. we all had to read 1 poem out. bet u can guess what poem she read out

  • For fear of commenting with another witty statement involving the dislikers; One person clearly got a bayonet through the neck...

  • we wached that hole episode in history and i started crying with laughter it wos that funny lmfao

  • Baldrick owns Wilfred Owen for sure

  • 1person got a bayonet through their neck

  • Now I know how Katie Perry got inspired for her Fireworks song.

  • "Not with a bayonet through your neck you couldn't!"

  • makes me cry wiv laughter so funny

  • 'The German Guns' is my favourite war poem.

  • boom boom boom ;3

  • ding-a-ling-a-ling.

  • The funniest moment in television!

  • a billion times more sophisticated and meaningful than anything wilfred owen could do.

  • My English teacher asked the class to come up to the front and recite our favourite war poems. My best friends did "Anthem for Doomed Youth" by Wilfred Owen, one of the boys did "In Flanders Fields" by John McCrae and I did "The German Guns" by Private S. Baldrick. My teacher was not best pleased.

  • @HorsemadxEmma I wish you could record it on video and post it here! hahahaha

  • @jholidis So do I, sir!

  • @HorsemadxEmma You must have a weird teacher. "The German Guns" is a wonderful poem.

  • @HorsemadxEmma pff, what a square

  • @HorsemadxEmma you my friend are a fuckin legend for doing that though!!!!

  • @HorsemadxEmma Bullcrap this is a story that Tony Robinson told on a TV program many years ago that he judged a contest in a school. Don't Lie!

  • Hear the words I sing,

    War’s a horrid thing,

    So I sing, sing, sing,

    Ding-a-ling-a-ling.

    The German Guns

    Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom,

    Boom, Boom, Boom,

    Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom,

    Boom, Boom, Boom,

    My Favourite 2 poems. ever.

  • boom boom boom boom,

    boom boom boom boom,

    boom boom boom boom,

    boom boom boom boom?

  • @happysack1

    why?

  • @janplanet1 It's Black Adder, 4 seasons of 6 episodes each (I think). This is the 4th.

  • so do i sir...hahaha

  • "Boom,boom,boom,boom. Boom,boom,boom.BOOM,boom,boom,boom." "BOOM,BOOM,BOOM?"

  • @MultiMusicMeister how'd you guess sir?

  • It started badly, it tailed off a little in the middle, and the lest said about the end the better. Apart from that, excellent

  • I love the way he has to think before remembering that the third line of his poem is

    "BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!"

    LOL! Always makes me laugh!!

  • rowan atkinson facepalm

    -For special idiots.

  • The short pause then the quiet melancholic way that Baldrick utters the last line "ding a ling a ling" with such a serious look on his face, just makes me howl with laughter every time.

  • IMO The German Guns is one of the best scenes in british comedy history. George's look of amazement as Baldrick recites it, Blackadder with his head in his hands, the little pause as Baldrick tries think of the next line, Blackadder 'guessing' the last line, and Baldrick being genuinely shocked at this! Genius!

  • What's with the Greek subtitles?

  • "I could go on all night"

"Not with a bayonet through your neck"

  • "So I sing sing sing......ding-a-ling-a-ling."

  • Baldrick's incredulous look: 'how did you guess sir?'

    Classic! xD

  • OH GOD! I love Blackadder so much! "BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM!" "ding-a-ling-a-ling"! Wow! This has to be one of the best!

  • hahahahaha fucking right bom bom bom is it bom bom bom omg how did u guess tht

  • ding a ling a ling :D

  • rofl the german guns

    BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM!

  • "I'd rather french-kiss a skunk!"

    "So would I, Sir!!!"

  • The German Guns, I think must be one of my favourites.

  • hahaha mine too!

  • @jholidis Mine too

  • @Kevo216666 and what lesson do we take from it? do not _ever_ piss off the Germans! It's a reeeeaally bad idea to make us angry, trust me.

  • @Brandt761 ???!!!!!!

  • @Brandt761 Not looking to invoke Godwin's law, but I'd hardly say that WWII came about from "pissing off" the Germans. From my elementary education in such things, it's clear to me that the origins of WWII came out of the understandably harsh reparations imposed after WWI; which came about because of royalist medling and unstable, badly balanced political alliances; which in turn came out of the explansionist atmosphere that overtook any powerful european kingdom in the 1700s... &c, ad nausium.

  • @flickeire1 First of all, this clip is from Blackadder Goes Forth, which plays during WWI, so presumably that's what we're talking about. Not WWII, whose origins are wholly different. Second of all, you're right, "pissing off the Germans" did not cause the war. Pissing off the Austrians would kind of work, seeing as it all started because, in Baldrick's words, "a feller named Archie Duke shot an Ostrich 'cause he was Hungry". Arguably, however, it was Kaiser Wilhelm's fault for being a moron.

  • @Brandt761 Germans............ Ashamed of there past since 1945

  • @RawStreams first of all, it's "their", not "there". But that's neither here nor their :p

And no, I am not ashamed of my past. Obviously, I greatly regret my country's past, but I wasn't in it, so I have nothing to be ashamed of, personally. To be honest; I'm much more ashamed over my current government selling German tanks to the asshole Saudis, who probably gonna use them to kill protestors. And I'm the most ashamed that I'm apparently the only one who even took notice. Fucking-

  • @RawStreams and seriously: Why couldn't they have sold some Leopards to the Libyan rebels, instead. Then Hasan al Baldrick would have been in Gaddhafi's bunker singing "BooomBooomBooomBooom!".

  • I LOVE THE BOOM BOOM ONE

  • AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, it's just fantastic!!
