dude, that's no mini chopper, that's a real fukkin chopper!! 18 horses?? I've only got a 6 hp, 196 cc engine for my own chopper project! Keep on ridin'!!
This thing is fantastic. If I could have one mini chopper from a you tube video this would be it. Way better than the one I made, and I like mine a lot! =) GREAT JOB!
I must admit-- cool as, you"ll get about 80 mpg as well with that set up!! Wat"s the address of the company where you got the transmission gear from?? Cheers Rob.
May be used in a huge generator or a small roller compactor. Some industrial zero turn mowers use them too. I special ordered a comet industrial variable speed clutch / jack shaft assembly. I don't remember what model but it came out of a catalog at my buddies machine shop.
I see lots of vtwin vert shaft motors for sale but what does a horizontal shaft motor typically come in? so I can find a donor for my scale 32 project. Also, what type of clutch or tranny do you use? thanks!
Sweet ! I started building one about a month ago, I cheated I got a rigid rolling chassis kit from west coast mini choppers. They did a really nice job on it, I was going to use a 16hp briggs motor, but after looking yours over I'm leaning more to the 18. What make model is your 18 hp
Im looking into building one myself to use on campus rather than my Gas hog truck. What can I expect cost wise minus the engine? (Id be using a Kohler Command 25hp engine)
@goblue21450 Depending on materials and parts.... Anywhere from a couple hundred to a grand if you use trick billet parts etc.. plus the clutch setup.
@gnativerson I can biuld one like that. I just do it as a hobby now. I have done a few w/ 6.5 hp tecumseh engines that are more of a bobber. Plenty fun and fast. Also Cheaper.
Great build. Im in the middle of one now and cant figure out what brake set up to go with. Did you put hydraulic or mechanical brakes on yours? if possible cause you put up another video showing your brake set up?
@Imreadingthisaloud Ya, It's just a Honda like those used in Garden Tractors and light equipment etc... i got a pretty good deal on it and it worked quite well for the application. If it were a larger or full size bike I would have used something different. I think any faster 50 on this thing is nuts, but it will go much faster than that as is.
@yk500 how do u get to the conclusion im a fuck tard? i only asked about the engine details, dont really care what make it is. I only asked the question you ignorant shit
i like your video and your mini chopper! i whould like to make i offer of paying you to build a bike just like the one on this video my e-mail brandonj571@yahoo.com please e-mail i REALLY would like one like that! willing to pay $1000-1500 if you do! thanks
@brandonj571 I think you called me? I lost the message. call me again and I'll call ya back.I could build another. I would need a down pmt for the engine.
Ok I just saw this for the first time tonight. Not bad but first things first: back out the idle screw and lower that lump down! #2 check out my mini bike build. #3 I don't care what kind of gearing you have, your bike will not do 130 mph. My bike has a 25hp Kohler V-twin and on paper it will do 100+ mph but realistically will not due to drive train loss. I've been up to 50 or so and it begs for more but around 4000 rpm these lawnmower engines lose torque like crazy. Cool build tho!
What engine did you use? I thought Briggs and the like only did vertical shaft v-twins? Did you just tilt one of those on its side? Very cool project! :D
I'm planning on building a mini chopper like yours with a 18 horsepower Briggs and Stratton. I want it to be able to go at least 60 mph. Did u use any kind of multi gear transmission? What's the gear ratio to get the speed u have?
holy moly thats amazing, well done.
