  • WTF? I see the Twitch II is twice listed in the Hall of Fame but it seems the Benchmade Osborne 940 is only listed once!!

  • THE BLADE WIGGLES ON THIS THING LIKE A FUCKING FROST KNIFE. yeah. i went there. frost knives. the shittiest brand of knives in history. i have frost knives that dont wiggle this much

again, i repeat it. does anyone else have this problem

  • hey nutin, you are my favourite reviewer on youtube. i don't think you can have quality video without length, and so much of gear philosophy is the given persons thought process. you are amazing because you tell all the thought process and back up opinions with facts.

  • does anyone else have a ton of blade play (horizontal) on this?

  • @143yamaha yes all you have to do is get(a flat head screwdriver with the octagonal end i forgot the name sorry..and on one of the little silver things tighten it to your desire..recommend oiling it too

  • I find the Kershaw Leek to be a better buy than the SOG Twitch; in terms of value. I have found the Kershaw Leek for half the price of the Twitch. To me, the SOG Twitch is not twice the knife as the Leek. Twitch might have better steel, but I can buy two Leeks for the cost of one Twitch. Two Leeks will last me longer than one Twitch for what I use them for. Just my opinion. I enjoy your gun and knife reviews.

  • T.T i loved that knife like a brother. and i still managed to lose it.

  • Do you like this knife or the SOG flash 2 better?

  • OMG you finally got a partnership with youtube!!!! YAY!!!!! So Happy for you!!!

  • @DeltaArcher7 Hes had it for years

  • great knife, but the cold steel mini ak47 is way better

  • @143yamaha Thats just personal prefrence.

  • @Kylef7735 yes it is, but honestly, ive been carrying this lately. haha

  • @143yamaha Exactly everything is good at somthing.

  • if im gonna carry a knife, iwant it to be GREAT at self defense. kershaw tanto groove

  • Luv it, just handled that knife and just bought it from my budy for $20 .... He had know idea . .... Keep it up dude

  • u are one hilarious dude, luv all the reviews too.

  • SOG needs to put traction inserts in the Twitch the same way as Kershaw does.Takes up little room and is cheap.Maybe OD green traction tape will become a reality. My Twitch 1 was too slipper and I dopped it several times and broke the blade tip on it finally when it fell open on concrete.

  • Great EDC knive thanks my friend.

  • Why do people post questions with easy answers on here? Youre already on the internet! Open a new tab and go to Google. Or Bing. Or God forbid, Yahoo, if thats your fancy.

  • I just got my twitch 2 in the mail just now VERY HAPPY WITH IT AS OF YET !!!

  • Get on with the review already.......

  • Just a data point as of July 30, 2011. I bought a Twitch II from Lowe's today, and it was the aluminum handled version, not the plastic version. Even better, It was on sale for just a tick under $40. Love the Twitch II, BTW,

  • @TacticalTightwad You can usually find 'em on eBay for like $30 if you don't mind an auction.

  • Not into this knife anymore. Sogs quality imo is piss poor. Not to discourage anyone from buying but my Twitch broke 2 time with 0 use

  • @KalConduitman Hey thanks for letting us know. What happened?

  • @tfoshohoe The torsion spring broke. I am pretty disappointed with it because its has a lot of cool features like the wrap around back lock. But I really dont plan on buying a sog anytime soon. Still think its a good brand, just didnt work for me

  • @KalConduitman I hear that alot!

  • what Duracoat color is the Kukhri wearing?

  • You keep popping out answers about question I didn't even have lol

  • Must chop tree with twitch two now. i come back with results later XD

  • bought one, fuck n love it

  • 4 minutes in. Review hasn't started...

  • In love with SOG's. Not in love with their cost.

  • twitch2 or flash1: Which is better?

  • twitch2 or flash2: which is better?

  • just wondering what thoughts you had on smith and wesson knives i havnt seen any of your reviews on them

  • i caught a glimpse of this knife in a catalog and thought man I bet nutnfancy would like this knife. So I came to youtube to do research and guess whos video I found first. :)

  • "There's my ugly face right there...Embarassing." That was just hilarious, classic nutnfancy. Great review as always though. Thanks man.

  • yep, just picked one up at lowes myself. 36 bucks for a solid assisted opening knife. Great call, thanks nutn!

  • i just picked this knife up at lowes in pa were i am it came in anodized aluminum needed to be adjusted but locks up decently tight its alittle small since i use a blur ussally but great knife

  • Hey Nutn do you know if spring assisted knifes are illegal in NY?

  • @DarkAssassinTy

This is classified as an open assisted knife. It is fully legal in NY, as long as you aren't under 16 or a convicted felon.

  • @Rodent234 ok dude thx bc i have a sog twitch from my ma from Christmas n i didnt know so i dont cary it outta the house thank u for lwtting me know

  • @Rodent234 ok thank you i wasnt sure

  • @Rodent234 do u also know what the blade length limit is in NY?

  • Comment removed

  • I doubt between the Twitch 2 and XL, which one would you suggest?

  • You may not have all of the cool visual effects for these videos, but you've got awesome whipping sound effects that more than make up for it.

  • Nutn, thank you soooooo much for NOT wearing clear nail polish when reviewing knives. There's nothing worse than seeing a hardcore edged weapon being filmed up close with pretty fingernails holding it, as so many others do. It makes me feel violated somehow.

  • I came across this little gem at the local sporting goods store...I flicked it open once and I had to buy it. Its funny to read the reviews on Amazon, as there are several mall ninjas on there that gave it 3/5 stars. I bought this nice cause its quite inconspicuous yet very functional, yet technologically advanced. I work in state government and wear dress slacks often and this knife says "gentleman"

  • what kind of cloth is that in the background?

  • bought one of these like 2 weeks before you posted this video, have carried it every day and probably used it every day, its a great knife and at a affordable price and its so fun to play with :)

  • Since you like saving weight, I wonder when you will check out the Armor pure titanium blade folding dive knife. I don't have a scale, but it is so light it is shocking. I know pure titanium doesn't make for the best knives, but it won't rust and mine weighs as little as my tiny pocket knife, but it's three times the size.

  • So I just got this at lowes with the aluminum handle, and i just love to fondle it, in the 2½ hours I've had it, I've used it probably 10 times and I've opened it maybe 200 times already lol. I'm gonna say it was the best $30 I've spent to the date so far. It was on sale, and its just a sexy knife.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheGunsNGearChannel of course it is...if you watched the video you would know that.

  • Got mine at lowes and it has the aluminum side scales and i love it !!!!

  • Its funny i came along and saw this knife review today; just yesterday I installed a replacement pocket clip on my sog twitch xl which I love! my edc, well one of 'em. Anyway thanks for the vids, my post a vid on my xl later.

  • i have owned this knife for about 4 years now,, bought from LOWES and let me say.. I LOVE THIS KNIFE.. i like most SOGS.. but this is one of my EDC's that i use alot! oh and BTW my Lowes has the all Aluminum handled One NOT the plastic ones..

  • Hey Nutn, it's your VOICE that's the music! I mean it. Your delivery and thoroughness keep me tuning in. I don't need music and effects, just good vids and more EDC & tactical coverage. Nice knife - nice review ! Here's to you and yours, Nutn ~~~ best wishes for a healthy & Happy New Year ~~~

  • hey love videos man.....wondering if you were going to do a review of the SoG tactical Tomohawk? been wanting one for a while just wondering what you think of it?

  • Great Review, I now own it and it is the best Knife I have ever owned!

  • What a fantastic little knife, definitely picking one up! Thanks again Nut'n

  • Just picked one up from Lowes, and it has the Aluminum handle. It says on the package "machined 6061-T6 aluminum handle".

  • Ok...i have heard of people deep freezing stuff like razon blades and even panty hose...lol...cool that there is a knife. Does anyone know if there are things that you just don't cryo?...Has anyone put a gun in deep freeze?....just curious.

  • I've had one of these as my EDC for the past three months. Use it every day, to every other day. Still reasonably sharp, no signs of corrosion, action still smooth and fast. Love it.

    Thanks for the review!

  • hey nutn any chance this knife will be duracoated

  • Nutnfancy = Hotforwords for gear sickos like me.

  • hey watchted your video and decided to get the knife. i got it at lowes for $37 and it was the aluminum handle one. i also saw the plastic handled one behind it and it was returned and had tape all over the box and it made me laugh a little. love the knife and the great vids

  • You do the best knife reveiws. I like SOG knives too and my EDC used to be a Twitch XL for a long time. I had the (SAT) spring break in my SOG and I sent it to SOG for repair. Not only did they repair my spring but they also cleaned my knife and sharpened my blade. SOG has great cutsomer service. Awesome video.

  • nice vid! I have a request. could you do a eview on the spyderco byrd robin please? I would like to know what you think.

  • why does nutn always argue with himself?

  • Though not advertised the pocket clip works as a bottle opener. For an EDC blade this is a great feature, even if SOG did not intend it for such use.

  • I am your number 1 fan and I am looking for a knife, buck or gerber that has a fixed blade good for small game and fish could you recommend one? Thanks bye

  • i wounder who invented 'width'? o.o

  • Comment removed

  • hey nutn im your number 1 fan. when will you review the spyderco UKPK???

  • @jrcash1234

Oh dude, they're so great. Had the FRN Version, sold it because I loved it sooo much and upgraded to the G10 / S30V Version. Love it even more, well worth the extra money.

  • nice to see the old school, table top review

  • Good review, I reviewed this knife as my first review on my channel, with a little less favorable remarks, but I still like it. If I knew there was a special plastic handle edition, I would have gotten that, the aluminum handle version feels heavy(for the amount of blade it is)

  • great review just picked this up from dicks sporting goods n got their last one!

  • do you think i should start reviewing knives and gear and also vids of gear in the uk

  • Thanks for the review! I have had both the aluminum and Zytel versions for about a year and although I love them both, I actually dig the Zytel one better. The scales are slightly thicker and it just feels better in my hand. I feel the balance is better too, as the aluminum one is a bit back heavy. My Zytel copy does not have the slop that your friend's showed, so maybe he got a lemon.

  • im sitting here playing with my Twitch II....when i say to myself" hey scraps, lets go see whats new on nutns page....and there you are...playing with your Twitch II too!

  • @scraps1981 Am I fucked in the head to totally get the wrong end of the stick with that? ;)

Wow, I go away for a few days and Nutn has 6 videos up. Happy new fucking year! Rock on.

  • @Slash28ACR not at all! that comment was full of hidden messages!! lol

  • I just bought a Twitch II, a Flash II and a couple of Victorinox.

    I love them all.

  • Nutn, Love ya man. I'm a fan of the old school reviews on the EDC's, but I think the utility knives need a more detailed review. But with these, you give us the specs, materials, a little history on improvements.. Just good stuff. Helped me buy this beauty. But like the SOG Seal Pup Elite NEEDED that detail. That review also helped me buy the SOG Seal Pup Elite. I needed to hear about the AUS 8 improvement, and the grip length. Important!!! We love you man. Thank you.

  • @Thetacticalinformer *Helped me look into this one*

  • i don't know if this is in bad taste or not, but

SOG Specialty Knives & Tools TWI-20 Twitch XL, Graphite Handle

    $58.51 @ amazon

  • I purchased this knife (aluminum handle) after viewing this review

  • @TheUncleBastard Got my twitch 2, it certainly does not lock up "like a bank vault" should I send it back???

  • How come amazon sells this knife for $43.00 yet it is $70.00 on there website.

  • @suza1103 MSRP, thats how much the manufacturer "Suggests" it to be sold at, but in actually its much cheaper.

  • I got a Ruger 10/22 for christmas! Keep up the Great work!

  • I've had my SOG Twitch 2 (Aluminum) as my EDC for about a year and a half. I think it's awesome for an EDC. I haven't had any lockup issues. Worth the money.

  • SOG Twitch XL with a tanto blade was my 1st EDC blade. It is thin and has the bayonet clip like the flash which add up to a comfortable & discreet carry. I found the thumb studs unusable as too slippery and I came close to slicing myself trying to use them with this knife. No such problem with the SOG Trident though. For me this knife is deploy by kicker only which is fun and looks cool but limits its choice as a defensive blade. I replaced it as EDC with a Spyderco Endura4 with wave opener.

  • u rag on and on and on to much. get to the point.

  • What do you think of SOG's SEAL line of knives? i'm thinking about getting one but as far as SOG fixed blades go the SEAL line is expensive

  • This knife sucks! It's too small for making bread, it's slippery and the spring failed after 150 openings. The blade rusted (rust spots) after cuting a salty pickle (i left it dirty for 3h). Not good.

  • Hey Nut'n, do you think you might get a Kanetsune fixed blade knife anytime? I bought one with Christmas money, the Shinobi, and was hoping you might review something from the brand. It was smaller than I had expected and extremely dull but looks awesome and I bet you could get it pretty sharp. I also bought a Spyderco Lum Chinese with the new carbon fiber and a Spyderco Citadel Automatic. If you plan on getting and reviewing one of these can you let me know? Thanks for the great reviews, Jason.

  • my aluminum twitch 2 has the same lockup problem.. it sux

  • I don't mind the music at all. I see it as a tool to fill the audio gap when showing slides of still photos, short video clips where the audio is not so important, text-laden screens where there is no narration, during intros and outros. I do agree that some folks go overboard with the music, but I don't think Nutn's ever really been guilty of that in any of the video's I've seen.

  • picked it up 8 mths ago. had a problem one week later with a clip screw getting loose and lost, called SOG and 2 days later a new clip with 2 new screws showed up at my door free of charge. Carry it every day and love it

  • nutn' i understand carrying a sidearm, but why do you carry a knife? do you use it mostly as a tool, or for self defense?

  • @horeslayer Start carrying one and you will find out that there's always something you have to do that requires a knife. Self defense is secondary utility.

  • I like the unedited review version. If I'm looking for music I'll be looking at something other than knife reviews. I own both the other knives you showed here and I still don't see any reason to spring for the Twitch when the Flash is that much less and for a solid little lightweight the 1740 is extremely tough to beat.

  • man thanks to you i bought one and it is truly the best pocket knife i have ever had. Thanks again for the great review!

  • i like music

  • @gabe562 might feel a little odd tho

  • Hey nutn where'd you buy your Twitch?

  • @skiierboy01 more than likely at yourcornerstore(dot)com

  • Thank Yooooooouuuuuuuuu!!!!!!!!! for no music. When used, it is more often than not, an annoying and time consuming distraction.

  • Reminds me of Sebenza knives.

  • Dude...it's been too long since your last knife review.

  • Nutnfancy, you should try the Ruko Shark knife and see how you like it. i like the deployment and blade release. it's also thin and has a high pocket clip

  • finally a knife review!

  • I wish the Twitch had a clip like the Flash. The Flash clip that connects into the end of the knife, are one of the things that I LOVE about it. Goes deep into the pocket with no knife visible.

  • i have two of these and i love them!!!!

  • I have the Twitch XL and I love it!

  • i have followed ur project for nearlly 2 years now and i generally always enjoy it but i feel like u have begon to drift away from the aspects that made u great and the best gear reviewer on youtube! we dont care about music and that crap we want ur reviews thoughts and ur experience keep up the great reviews

  • You duracoated the Kukri!?!? Awsome!

  • Benchmade Nagara vs SOG Twitch II? Any opinions?

  • @asdfxyz1 SOG Twitch II

  • @asdfxyz1 Honestly they are both great. You can't go wrong either way.

  • @asdfxyz1 both are awesome.. i was always an SOG fan but since purchasing a griptillian for an EDC i've been swinging more towards benchmade, one thing i can tell you that i noticed is benchmade 154cm is a little better than SOG aus8 and benchmades have very tight tolerances, they open and close by just disengaging the lock which usually is what secures them in closed and locks them open with no play

  • Excellent Review well presented. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but the SOG Twitch II is all handle and a small awkward looking blade - as ugly as a knife can get. The blade steel is poor quality: AUS 8 - in our day of zdp-189 & cts-xhp steels, AUS8 doesn't cut it anymore. But for $40, this is not a bad deal.

  • Thoughts on the long thumb studs.... maybe they're typically found shorter than this because it may catch on the way out of your pocket, creating a hazard. I'd be all for longer ones than usually found, but I'd probably bet there's a reason for them to be short

  • i bought a sog fielder (their poor mans knife) the first one i had was nothing special but it did take alot of abuse then one day on a canoe fishing trip i lost it somehow, so i bought another one and my secound one has no steel strenght it keeps chipping on the cutting edge!!!! i thought sog would have a better quality control of their product lines

  • Hey! nutn great to see old-school knife review. You didn't explain this strange locking system, first time I see this kind. It looks like another weird invention like Benchmade Nagara's Nak-Lok which is very weak and easily develop blade play. I'll stick to my frame-lock CRKT Drifter. Nothing can beat it for the price. Oh btw for khukhri coating I use only patina, It looks sick on mine ;)

  • A suggest:

I think you need to research and learn much more about steel differences and steel types after all these reviews, dont you think so?

For me; steel quality is the most important thing to look for when reviewing knives. All the ergonomics, weight, jimping stuff comes later.

I'm not a metallurgist, but I know steels used in these knives very well, but most of your subscribers dont. So it would be nice to see you giving more attention to steel.

  • What do you consider a good EDC blade for the UK?

(ours have to be non locking and the blade less than 3 inches)

  • @electrictactical I'm from UK and my favorite is Spyderco Pen Knife Lightweight, you can get it for ~42 pounds in sheep or leaf blade style.

  • @electrictactical sounds like anal rules.. play it safe and go with a victorinox lol, something like the cadet

  • Hey Nut, we need a brand new "top 10 favourite edcs of nut's" video soon. Will ya? You know there are lots of pocket knives you love and use daily as you say in your videos. But we want to know your current top 10.

  • wooo! yay old school reviews! Thanks! Love it, sometimes bringing back this style is awesome! Pro's for your newer / more edited vids! But variety is the spice of life!

  • Great review, pump them out

  • I subbed to you back when you did knife reviews. Now I miss them.

  • hey man what is your thought about balisong/butterfly knife

  • Kickin' it old school! Right on, man. Good knife, great review.

  • Great Vid NutN, I'm a big Knife/Light user and i always love having data points to work with.

  • I sit at home and fondle my blade religiously.

  • OH YEAH...view number 7,956!!!

  • Good points about movies relating to vids, Tron Sucks just as bad as the old one did, all hyped up on effects but the movie just bites stale popcorn. Funny, I've been checking out some of the older flicks & in many cases, more than today, they have some great story lines & dialog. Telling a story seems to be becoming a lost art because of the reliance on effects & hyper paced action that just becomes white noise.

Cool knife; solid, quality plus some excellent qualities that are a great bonus.

  • @omegahpla Awesome comment...five star. I have heard Tron does indeed suck and as you point, another great example of a poor story. I love listening to a good story teller and I do my best playing the part in philosophy vids. I think you'll like what's coming up. Peace.

  • Would you say that this knife is better than the kershaw skyline. im looing at both and dont know which one i should pick

  • @bulldogsfan5953 I'd probably go Skyline...lighter weight. Both are great though.

  • @nutnfancy Alright thanks. ill probably get the skyline then. Are you ever going to make a customized TNP one?

  • special effects certianly ruined Battlefield Earth

  • Eh, not my taste. If anyone wants to trade for mine, PM me.

  • @videoenthusiast23 np sir

  • Thanks been waiting for this review even know I've carried a twitch ll for 2 year and love

  • I use and have the sog flash 2 love that knife. Got it off ebay for $28 bucks

  • Cold Steel has sub-zero quenched some of their blades for years.

  • Btw, I went with a Spyderco Persistence for my weekend EDC. Great blade and AWESOME TNP review! Keep up the great work nutn!

  • Dude, I’m so pumped to see that you dig this blade! I’ve been carrying a Twitch II M-F, 8-5 for about a year and love it. If you are an IT-type or desk jockey who needs a small EDC blade that is sleek in pocket, the Twitch II is for you. I bought mine despite the fact that you had never reviewed it; I just figured you didn’t dig the aluminum scales. I’m feeling pretty vindicated now that it has found its place in TNP though!

  • @Psyclaws Glad to help out bro and sorry it took my so long. But buddy with his Lowe's Twitch II got me interested again. Great blade, super fast, and THIN. Your right; it's a great office knife choice.

  • Cryro treating does varying amounts of good to various steels. Some steels the increase in toughness and edge retention is minimal, and not really worth the cost, as it can cost as much to cryro quench a blade as the heat treat itself, and triple the amount of time needed. While some steels get a lot of performance increase from it. 440C gets a huge increase in performance. Other steels get less. It has to do with how much retained austenite is left in the blade after quench.

  • @QuietBearr Hey QB, good to hear from you again. Great comment on the cryo too.

  • Dude, you spent more time talking about why you're not using special effects than it would've taken to put in special effects, lol. Hey I know you dig the Cold Steel Kukri, but what do you think about the Ka-Bar Kukri?

  • @SergeiMosinJr You're right...it did take time! I think the CS Kukri dominates the KaBar, also in the Project for testing. Don't get me wrong, KaBar Kukri is also awesome but does not have the same swing weight and thickness. However I'm just starting its test phase and I may be in for some surprises.

  • edc= leatherman

  • I'm having another go-around with SOG again lately. Loving it. What I really need is an Aegis. Don't know why I don't have one yet. Love the blade shape. The Twitch is good, too. Like the Vision series, have the Mini X-Ray 5-6 years now, still carry it once in a while, work it into the rotation. Thanks again Nutn, always educational.

  • I like the old school reviews. Just me, i think the music gets overwhelming for the vids.

  • @millster101 Good to know and getting feedback like this helps. Some blades that I really like get the full edit.

  • @nutnfancy I prefer this style over the other review style. That is not to say I don't like the other style. I just prefer this one better. Hope you had a good holiday nutn. Keep up the good work! Thank you for your services sir.

  • @nutnfancy I disagree. with the exception of one or two videos maybe, the choice of placement of the music and style usually adds alot of professional quality to your videos. you can see the change in the videos from the old school style to the current ones, and imo they are much better with the music.

  • idk what it is but nutn you seem depressed in this. if it is the trolls dont let them get to you man. or if it is diarrhea well... get well soon.
