I'm sorry, but the original is just one - Steve . Arnel just copying work of STEVE ,isn't he ?! Can he come up with similarly catchy songs like these ? his own made songs ? - if so then easily with the band Journey will be original too, and perhaps also will be appeals to fans of Stevie. :)

This pisses me off. It's obvious they chose him because he sounds just like Steve, ARG! If the band didn't wanna tour ALL the time them Steve would still be with them cause that's the reason he left because they wanted to tour but he had a family. They're not Journey anymore....

When you watch Journey in their earlier years you can see the passion and love Steve felt for singing but this guy is all over the place singing karaoke. @Journey4AP They were always about rock! Steve Perry is the reason we have Bon Jovi and other rock bands that came in the 80's or later 80's because Steve gave so much passion. He never ran around the stage in leather pants. I probably see it a different way cause I'm only 15 and a girl but I was raised on Journey and Steve Perry's single albums and I don't care, Journey will never be the same. This guy may sound like Steve but he never will be,

@BonJoviXSkidRow BTW, I grew up w/ Bon Jovi during my HS days.... Not so into Skid Row, but my HS friends were... We are on the same page on that matter.... hehe.. I was still 4 at Journey's prime era, but my older siblings were journey fans, so I was left w/ no choice listening to their music including Journey, Survivor, eagles and those " temple of the King" guys, hehe sorry about that. I even grew up listening to Journey songs but not knowing the band, well I was still 4 to 6 years old.....

Yes, unfortunately, they did get Arnel from a tribute group, that personally doesn't do it for me, as to me Steve's effortless voice is just so unique.

@mercuryforeva well thanks for your opinion, but I think nobody beats Freddie Mercury. If we do missed somebody, it's freddie mercury. I mean Steve Perry's still around, he can sing if he would still wanted to. If Arnel's from a Karaoke club, well nobody will argue against that, but the fact is Arnel's there to sing for us. We can't erase the fact that Journey fans won't stop believing that Steve will come back for us, not the Augeri. If that time comes, it would be a great honor 4 AP to go...

@Journey4AP I agree, Freddie Mercury is of a different order, but IMO so is Steve Perry. I regard the live performance of "Mother Father" in Houston '81 as one of the greatest live performances of all time. I am not doubting that AP is a good singer, it'sjust not the same, it would be like getting a soundalike for Freddie Mercury now, which would be resented by alot of fans and I think a similar thing is happening with Journey now.

@Journey4AP What Brian May and Roger Taylor did was they went on tour after 15 years of being without FM and toured as "Queen and Paul Rodgers". Expectedly, there was a mixed reaction, but what people didn't understand is that it was not an imitation of Freddie; it was a fusion between Free and Bad Company tracks and Queen songs where Paul re-interpreted the songs in his own style. I would of preferred Journey to of done that. I know there was a Journey before Steve, but he was the catalyst :)

But with the style, that's just what Neal wanted, to re-create the legacy sound of Journey, and move forward with a different style, " Eclipse"..... But still, nobody beats the power of Freddie Mercury..... I was still about 8 years old during his prime, and I was sick with my older brothers listening to him! I didn't even know that he was gay during that time.

We, the so called Journey-AP fans, are just trying to enjoy them and introduce them to our kids. And in my case, I've always ended my story to my daughter that Steve Perry's the original singer for journey.... I even bought the "Houston DVD" to show SP's singing for journey b4. She's still 8, a new journey fan and thought AP's the only singer for Journey.

@Journey4AP I feel that Neal has done the wrong thing by bringing in a soundalike karaoke imitator rather than someone with a unique touch to Journey's music. Maybe Neal is stuck in the past as they always play the old songs as thats what the majority of fans remember. I am rather flexible with my music taste but when it comes to ripping off the catalytic force which basically gave them that unique sound (SP) that's when it puts me off. Journey is one of those bands where you can't replace SP.

Steve Augeri was the only one to come close to measuring up to Steve Perry. I did embrace there 2001 Arrival album but that was it. I pretty much consider them now a karaoke band. It's kinda sad to me that their going on with Styx and Foreigner none of whom have their original singers. Get Steve Perry and Lou Gramm back cause alot of fans just aren't interested.

@RockerDude899 as far as I know, he's a replacement and not a copy of the Great Steve Perry, in which on the other hand that you considered Steve Augeri as a copy or close to a copy of Steve Perry. But that's not the point of journey today, coz they should have had gone ahead with Hugo Valenti who even look like Steve Perry. No more justfication required from us who's supporting the present journey. I am a big fan of Steve Perry but if you can't join us today, then so be it....
