@terryrouge Miata engines are pretty much indestructible. Having said that, most people in Spec Miata run specially prepared engines with tighter tolerances. These tend to get slower after a season or two (say 5 - 20 races), at which point they might lose five horsepower. Not a big deal if you don't race (and they'd still make more power than your average street Miata's motor), but enough that many people swap motors every couple of years.
i was at turn 2 looking at that and could not see what happened just saw smoke a good amount too then the bmw fly across track and take the run off road
At the beginning of the video, you can see a red CRX in my rear view mirror get a really good jump on the start. He tried squeezing in between the green BMW and the wall. I only saw things out of the corner of my eye, but I think the BMW didn't know the CRX was there, moved towards the wall, and hit the CRX. I'm not sure why the last thing you see the BMW do is turn his wheels to the *left*, though; if he was hit on the right rear, you'd expect the opposite.
Cool Vid
Ive got a miata and I was just wondering, how well does your engine take all the abuse?
