If this were more "realistic", then Ran and CHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN would have probably killed Reimu. Also, since they were forgotten forever, Reimu COULD have sacrificed the PC-98 characters who have nothing to do with Reimu's life anymore.

@Muffineman i think that the book might have made reimu think she coupld raise someone from the dead, yukari, but marissa, sakuya, and alice knew that reimu wouldnt be able to handle it and would end up killing herself too so they went and stopped her, but this is pure guessing on my part

To clear it up for everyone: Reimu found literature about resurrection (it fell on her) and saw she had to give something of equal value. Since Yukari was important to Gensokyo, having made the border and therefore what Gensokyo is altogether, Reimu saw that Gensokyo, all of it, was worth Yukari. Sakuya, Alice and Marisa were protecting Gensokyo and Reimu herself by stopping her. In a near-death thing, Yukari "saved" Reimu from Marisa's MASTER SPARK by resurrecting her (from what I could tell),

@GensokyoGal301 I think that's pretty much all correct, but I don't think Marisa, Alice and Sakuya were trying to kill Reimu. That would rather defeat the point of stopping her breaking the barrier. I'd guess that the part at the end was Reimu being unconcious (maybe still seeing Yukari though, I mean, it -is- Yukari), and she just woke up afterwords.

@XENOPITTAN1 Actually, she was going to sacrifice Gensokyo. The Hakurei Border is something of high enough value to ressurect Yukari. Gensokyo would have been destroyed if Alice, Sakuya and Marisa didn't stop her. But as you saw, Yukari was alive in the end, taking her hat back.

So, let me get it straight: Yukari was defeated by Reimu in a fight and died and now Reimu misses her, so shee's seeing her ghost everywhere. Reimu decided to break the border of life with a book she found that belonged to Yukari maybe explaining how to do it, but instead she was taken down by the girls Marisa Sakuya and Alice. So she was dead for a moment and she could see Yukari again, but she whispered "You are alive" and so she cried at her own failure. How close is this to the storyline?

@laviejaseisotorta You got everything right, but that whisper was more of a "Thank you, but you don't have to do this." or a "I'm happy you tried, but it's okay, let it go" thing. Reimu cries not mainly because she failed, but because even Yukarin herself is telling her to stop.

Letting go is hard, holding it in is even harder. Funny, isn't it? In order to /let go/, you have to /hold it in/.

The ending brings a bit of question as to whether Yukari actually died.

With Yukari being a Youkai who controls borders, she also most notably has the power to control the border between life and death, so it's entirely possible that she lives.

My guess is that the barrier was about to be destroyed (note the single second where there are cracks in the sky) Reimu's power wasn't enough to hold it so Yukari "sacrificed" herself, prolly just her physical body means she can't show herself anymore, or something along the line.

@9CirnotheGenius9 Even the spell card rules can't protect people/youkai from outside sources that threaten Gensokyo, unfortunately. You can tell the threat was really powerful if Reimu couldn't keep the Hakurei Barrier up. Only one who transcends the rules of the universe had the strength to stop whatever was causing the Barrier to shatter like glass. Even then, the foe was probably only marginally weaker than the Yama, since even Yukari couldn't survive the battle, although she stopped it.

For the romanji on this video, I have noticed a few errors, as where there is "nin", it's actually "hito". and at 4:31, I believe it is "tattae ta" and not "dae ta". Or at least that's what I heard. Same appears at 2:01. And "itoshi" is missing an a at the beginning. Without the a, it appears to be a completely different pronunciation as it really is.

I would appreciate if these were changed, I'm trying to learn to sing to this.~ ^-^

what happenend was they were being attacked by an unknown source (to us). yukari got in the way of reimu and was killed. later reimu found a tomb to try and ressurect her, but was stopped by alice, marisa and sakuya. thumps this up so people can know the story. it's really helpful.

@truehammerneji As an add on to your comment, it looks like something went wrong with the Hakurei Barrier in the beginning. Reimu wasn't strong enough to fix it and Yukari being the youkai of boundries was only powerful enough to fix it but was killed in the process. When Reimu tried to revive her, the barrier looked like it was cracking. So because of the risk of the barrier being destroyed, that would give Marisa, Alice, and Sakuya a reason to attack Reimu and attempt to stop her.
