He's a good kid and he does have a very pleasant, unique voice, though it is honestly underdeveloped and needs more time to really form that country twang. Also, he NEEDS to stop marketing himself as that black guy who sings country (to my recollection, Darius Rucker never did that) and start selling himself more on his voice, which again, needs time to improve. But with his determination, I'm sure he will get much better and I wouldn't be surprised to hear him on the radio one day.

Literally what you said was that "Phil is too one dimensional" and said Skyelor isn't because he "turned a Baby Face song into a country classic." Saying he's one dimensional makes no sense there because he did the same thing Skyelor did, just turned it into Elvis style music. You should have said, "Skyelor's performance was great, but I didn't care much for Phil's."

Honestly, I have yet to understand why he's made it so far in the competition. This performance certainly didn't enlighten me. Don't get me wrong - I want to like him because he's humble and endearing, but I don't find him interesting or talented enough to be a true contender. Skyelor just not have a very good voice to be honest. He doesn't have that genuine country twang, and he's constantly off key. I think the main reason they put him through is because he's a rare commodity: an African American country singer.
