Like the third note in that riff that is played during the solo (2nd fret, 4th string I think) , sounds like wah but I don't see anyone using wah at this part. Megadeth, Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, Testament, Exodus, Kreator, Annihilator, etc, all Thrash Metal.

It was a compilation of different songs from various bands "hit the lights" appeared on that album. The lineup was James Hetfield (vocals,rythm guitar), James Hetfield (also on Bass), Loyd Grant (Lead Guitar), Lars Ulrich (Drums). This line up is rarely talked about because it was incomplete & they never hit the stage together.
