@kingfish99 healthcare reform was not passed, a travesty called the healthcare reform bill was passed and is in the process of being repealed by people who want to make it even worse. You are correct, the president can't just do whatever he wants, but he seems to want to pander to corporate interests more than to his constituency.
The real shame would be if the most historically notable thing about Obama ends up being that he was half African American. He's blowing his chance to go down in the Big Picture view looking like a moral hero and fiscal genius, just on his compromise of truth and justice on the healthcare issue alone.
