  • Not just the dead; it's a day for remembering all who fought for our freedom, whether they came home alive or were killed in battle.

    If it were only a day to remember those who died, why would there be parades of veterans at the Remembrance Day ceremonies?

Le poème a été pour "Punch" en 1915. McCrea repose maintenant dans la Somme. Tous les jours à 20H000 est sonné le "Last Post" (Porte de Menin à Ypres ) par des pompiers volontaires : Poignant!
