This is funny!!! Oh Shit!!!summed it up for me,it's a bit like my sex life ...doesn't happen often enough to have any control and its all over far too quickly to gain any experience : (
Rainey's accident was not the fault of not having electronics. He said himself that he simply carried too much corner speed in, lost the front and to quote him, "had a very easy lowside". What hurt him was the bumps in the gravel trap that kicked him up in the air which caused him to come down on his head. Traction control would not have helped him
In a recent Roadracingworld article Rainey said that as much as people complain about electronics, he favors them because they prevent highsides & can keep riders from being gravely injured. Period. None of this is my opinion. Go read it. Hence my comment. I never said electronics would help him. All i said was "go ask Wayne Rainey".
Yeah, that's right MH, can't be '89. There's footage of the 1990 GP at the Island(namely Schwantz's crash in turn 1), too.
This is from 1992. Gardner had broken his leg at Suzuka, Japan(that crash is also shown here), a few rounds earlier that season, and he mentions his broken leg in this clip.
I went to The Creek for this round. It was Doohan's first home-GP win.
Eddie comes across as the type of guy you would like to have a pint with. His pleasant demeanor sure does do a good job of hiding one helluva racer, four titles attest to that.
Comon Mick was pretty booring he won to easy. They need to ditch the traction control and have a control tyre!

Wise words from Barry Sheene, UK's last GP winner. I know how this idvice could help all riders but sadly, no-one ever listens.

Can't be 1989, it's the Eastern Creek garage in the background.
