I love that scene. One of the best film music scenes ever. In terms of emotional charge and expression resembles a scene from "Philadelphia" when Tom Hanks explains the opera of Maria Callas 'La Mamma Morta'.

The actor, who plays a Nazi in this scene is perfect. Male and deadly handsome. Shocks how he played the focus, without any words, only with his face, which express thousand of feelings. His calmness, intelligence... This is something amazing, otherworldly!

Just beautiful! My grandfather plays all Chopin, and I can sit for hours listening to him play. Really his life is in an of itself amazing. He just sits at his piano and plays all day long. Hopefully one day my life will play out similarly! The director should have included the entire piece here though! I would have loved to listen more!

Chopin was prohibited by Germans under occupation... They destroyed His monument in center of Warsaw on May 31, 1940 and even all copies located in Polish museums.... Head of Chopin monument was found in Wrocław after war...... It was reconstructed in 1958 because nobody could find surviving replicas... So for Poles this scene has more deep....
