Nice work. Good review, and a cool camera! i love it! And this camera is great for Time Lapse Photography too! you just need this device: tempusALL.bymac.org
I got very professional time-lapse videos with camera! cool sunset videos!
All mobotix external cameras have the same problem as do all dome cameras they dont like rain on the viewing area ,so all the technical wonder is not important if you cant see the image ,all there outside cameras footage is always in sunshine ,they never show you an image with rain on the viewing area.
@wendy7776 actually this statement is incorrect - I could go into why but I would rather you watch a real live demonstration. Search on YouTube "Demaher MOBOTIX" and you will see the camera able to view under a high pressure hose (with no outdoor housing).
Greenpeace chose to use MOBOTIX cameras on their ships because the cameras have the ability to ignore existing salt and spray on the lens and still provide a clear view. If you google "Greenpeace ship webcams" you will see examples.
i just ordered it today from Mobotix website. As far as i know, when we say Mobotix we are talking about a "Rolls Royce" in the IP camera field...
Well, i'll see and i'll give you my impressions..
Can't wait to receive it though ..;)
Best regards from France
PS : by the way, the MXinstaller (Ipacademy) is a very god site, very instructive, you guys are doing a great work, i like the presentations from Simon Hall .. thank you
There is also a new "normal looking" Mobotix M24 camera available, same specs and pricing as the Q24, only more lens options and flexible in mounting/positioning.
@nicogroen I kind of like Mobotix look. They look scary, especially the M12, it looks like some kind of spider with all of those different lenses/motion detectors etc. lol
This is amazing! They done it again and with no moving parts no outdoor housing industrial grade and it records on a micro SD card up to 32 MB. Best of all its made in Germany
Any one who installed MOBOTIX will know what the camera can do, according to my knolledge there are no camera that can do what MOBOTIX can do, this is a high quility product, and no other kind of cctv system can get near this. I have been installing cctv systems for 10 years now, and from being introduced to MOBOTIX, i do not even want to install conventional / analog systems any more.
jolbwater must go to a live presentation of MOBOTIX, and maybe play around with it, to see what it can do.
MOBOTIX cameras (e.g. Q24) are decentralized, meaning they have in-built DVR s/ware. So you can perform time/event based searching directly from the video recorded in the camera's SD card. Other brands of IP cameras might allow access to the video stored in the SD via a web browser, but you cannot perform meaningful time/event based searches within the SD recordings. These IP camera brands you mention require a PC and recording s/ware (NVR) to enable this. MOBOTIX does not.
any videos on setting up the sip part of the cameras?

1:10 you reckon this camera is only one that can record to SD - but Axis, Bosch and plenty of others can too.

MOBOTIX Hemispheric Q24 Technology = 360˚ video capture + in-camera-DVR recording + in-camera event search + IP65 rating + in-camera distortion correction.
All of this in the ONE camera - without the need for an NVR.
