Macedonia was never a region of Greece,on the contrary, ancient Greece was subjected to the Macedonians when Alexander conquered Greece in 338 B.C. In 1913 modern Greece and her SLAVIC ALLIES partitioned Macedonia. Today a portion [51%] belongs to Greece it is by virtue of an illegal partition of the whole occupation of the MACEDONIANS. GO TO GOOGLE and TYPE-IN :...... "macedonia before 1913".
@SonOfOsiris3 You must be quite the sophomoric 'science person' then. The man's 'light years beyond' description hold's up logically and grammatically. You assume that he's talking about time and not distance because you want to feel smarter than him. He's indicated no improper usage of the phrase.
@Mojomaster5 I mean no disrespect to him. I was just pointing it out. And his description does not hold up logically because logically, its a unit of time and not distance. He knows more than me about history because he is a historian whereas I get my history from games and books
@SonOfOsiris3 It does make sense logically. 'Beyond' is a term that can be applied to distance. His description illustrates that the Greek technology was beyond other technology by a span of distance were someone to compare their technological progress, progress also being a term applied to distance.
@Mojomaster5 omfg both you guys are missing the bigger picture, he is using a term used by people for years to descibe the difference between one thing to another. I.E. the car is light years beyond the mounted horse.
The charge of Alexander wasn't dorectly to the enemy cav, he used javelin men to fight with the Persian cav while he attack the open right Persian flang!
if you are interested to see some battles reconstitution watch my channel i have the battle of marathon from the history channels series Battles BC and i will post more soon
The Persian used alot of mercenaries. And the Persian at the battlefield was drafted from all over the empire. They were many diffrent nations, cultures and which spoke difrfent languages in the Persian army
O why O why OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo why are the Immortals in western history depicted as Arab desert peasantry. The immortals were megnifisent in their armor and dress whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy are the Persians depicted so inaccurately.
Nahh both the the Mongols, Alexander and the Romans achieved far more militarily. When did the British ever conquer any siginificant parts of Europe? They conquered already weak nations.
@refuckulate420 But the america's was not discovered at the time. The British had a massive and the largest ever empire. The rest of europe and USA envyed the empire and during the late 18th and early 19th tryed to acheive this, but failed
It's wrong because militarily you achieved nothing compared to what Mongolia did. Even what France in Europe from 1775-1815 can't compare. Yes you Britain had a large empire but some of those colonies were taken at the cost of almost nothing. We are talking about tribals and small faction states with limited military. I mean come on dude...Africa, Australia??? You had no strong competition like France did in Europe during Napoleons reign.
Now don't get me wrong. Britain had a good command structure and excellent training. However that doesn't change the fact that they didn't achieve on a military level what France, Alexander or Mongolia did.
Because the UK itself was a fortress in the sea, they didn't require as large a ground force of infantry and cavalry. Simple facts. Well trained, well armed and well commanded troops was the result of having a smaller force.
@refuckulate420 Although we defeated smaller nations, we controlled larger land mass.We won 2 wws but we couldn't afford the empire after the wars because the empire took too much money to keep and travel to.
No you didn't dickhead. That's fucking disrespectful to countries like Russia, U.S and other countries who made huge sacrifices. Hell you guys couldn't even afford WW2 which is why the U.S.had to lend you a massive amount of supplies and tanks.
Hell Russia lost 8-10 million you guys lost around 380,000 U.S. lost over 400,000 so no you did NOT make the biggest effort by a long shot sorry. Disrespectful prick, get back to the history books. You are clueless.
@DKY780 buying things isnt effort lol go to the store buy some gum biggest contribution to ww2 would have to be from the CCCP and even the U.S. who i dislike ever so much manufactured and fought much more altho the Brits did do a bit more in africa ill give you that still CCCP contributed more

ThePunisher308 1 year ago
$3 billion dollars- that could buy you nothing in war perhaps about 100 tanks
dancthegr 1 year ago
@dancthegr That won't even get you two modern tanks. Three billion dollars would have bought an incredible army in ancient times, though.
