No they can NOT be kept as pets. They are far more complicated than your average dog. They require a specific diet, proper containment (wolves have no problem jumping a 6ft fence.)

Vet care (not all vets are able nor willing to dea with wild animals such as wolves)

The physical and metal stimuli to keep a wolf happy is is non stop.

You get a wolf and the one that is going to get hurt/killed is the wolf. Leave them to the experts.

@Donaticus well guess what my first dog was a pitbull. JD was his name and i loved him he was playful and obedient the reason we put him down was because he was too old and as far as wolves go they shouldn't be pets, they're meant to be wild animals, hunt in packs that's the beauty of the animal, and when you domesticate it it loses that beauty and ends up being an ordinary house pet. Oh and BTW my previous statement was meant to be a joke, take it as that.

dont get a wolf hybrid, especially one that is more than 50% pure wolf, unless your gonna train it well. They have a lot of energy and can chew shit up and destroy everything if not taken care of. Other than that, they can be really sweet and loyal dogs.

My auntie is selling a litter. By the way the "Wolf" howling in this video, is a Wolfdog. A Czechoslovakian Wolfdog/Saarloos Wolfhound. :) I have a Czech Wolfdog, only 7 weeks. He is HUGE. Btw, don't get them for the looks, they require a LOT of time and you need experience of owning a Large Dog/Wolfdog. Actually research on the breed before you rant "I WANT ONE, I WANT ONE" because half of the time people don't know what they are onabout, they just want it because it looks "cool."

kinda feel a little sorry for it though. That howl is nowhere near as cool as a proper wolf howl, and not even as tough as a good dog bark.

I had a 3/4 timber wolf and 1/4 German Shep. hybrid named Jake. Poor guy passed away from some organ failure...think kidney. He would howl JUST like that at night. He HATED strangers and other dogs, was very protective of us and territorial. However, I did know the dangers of wolf hybrids turning on their their human companions due to their wolf instincts. He never really did, though. He really cared for me and our family. I miss him.
