it's goddamn music.
get the hell over yourselves you megalomaniacs and live your life instead of arguing over petty shit. eat shit and die alone in front of a computer screen because someone has a different opinion.
To me, it seems this band wouldn't be the same if they mainstream, I like my own band i can listen to, without worrying about other people judging me. They can't judge a band they don't know.
I hate when people say they would rather have their favorite bands not go mainstream. Except for the pressure on the band to change, going mainstream is GOOD. GET GOOD MUSIC OUT THERE. Its like some people like feeling "different" because they listen to music nobody else does, and they treat it like its their possesion. That is why (to a small degree) why these bands arent more successful. To a much larger degree, mainstream music sucks because people dont think for themselves anymore.
@peterjussi Its the fact that going mainstream is synonymous with selling out, what makes fans scared. Minus the Bear don't make music like this anymore, because they want to sell more albums. Same with the Killers (what the fuck is human) and Modest Mouse (The popularity of Float On brought on the pop album, We Were Dead..., which wasn't nearly as good or driven as albums before that were.)
Don't get me wrong, Minus the Bear is my favorite band, but what the fuck is their new album?
@TheOVGs i was about to make the same point before seeing your comment....i don't ever want the mainstream suddenly thinking listening to bands like Minus The Bear is fashionable, but then I don't think the band would ever go for it anyway.
Unfortunately I don't think they will. The fact that they are indie limits the audience that they can realistically attract. They may live on in our hearts and minds forever, but I think that as the years go by history will forget about the small indie band from Seattle, Washington.
@JORDANEast actually maybe not a lot of remarkable artists don't get the fame they deserve until after death like Emily Dickinson, Vincent Van Gogh, and others. They were as indie as it get's because they kept it to themselves.
@JORDANEast they will never be forgotten, one day I'll give my iPod and my minus the bear t-shirt to my son, and tell him to do the same when he has a son, and even long into the future, there will always be at least one guy wearing around a minus the bear shirt and listening to them on his iPod
i agree....everybody's worried about the Miley Cyrus' and Britney Spears and Soulja Boys of the day....which leaves out all the amazing bands, such as the amazing MINUS THE BEAR.....UGH
@MuIdoon But here we all are still listen to this kick ass band. I am so glad I searched beyond "Knights" from saints Row. I'll be listening to "Is that a ninja up there!!!" next. Dueces.
@BobbyGeneva357112 maybe because you're 12 and you can't understand it? Honestly... I can't believe the ignorance behind your comment. Lyrics are terrible!?!?! DAYGLOW VISTA ROAD?!?! You ever check it out? IGNORANCE IS BLISS good sir.
@BobbyGeneva357112 What you don't understand is that the lyrics fit the music. They might not be any significant when read alone, but the music adds meaning and emotion to them unlike anything anywhere else.
Another thing, if you don't like them, you really don't have to listen to them or comment. Nobody's forcing you to.
Its not just the south man, this country is being overtaken by shitty autotone rap. I love underground hiphop but that shit has soul and rythem. This new rap shit sucks. Minus the bear is always a better choice
why would you ever dislike this! i swear! i hope those two die in a bus fire.
...well thats kinda harsh, i wouldnt wish that on anyone, im sorry. peace, and love.

you're right, but i'm pretty sure since they know they're an indie band that they dont much care about taking a place in history
i bet they get all the satisfaction in the world when a single fan lets them know they they've created an impact in at least one life
